Chapter 218: Obliterated with a Single Punch
The battle with Kinoshita Genichi was always full of surprises.
Nagato's Six Paths of Pain bypassed the initial confrontation and headed straight for the village. Tekka, his Susanoo now in its perfect form, leaped onto its forehead and brought his massive blade down on Genichi.
Genichi flickered, his body propelled by his Current Drive, moving with incredible speed and agility through the air. He effortlessly dodged Tekka's attacks, then, with a sonic boom, he broke the sound barrier and shot downward.
"So fast!" Tekka gasped, forming a spear in his Susanoo's left hand and thrusting it at the descending figure.
This time, Genichi didn't dodge. He met the attack head-on with a single punch.
Current Drive: 100 Million Volts!
BOOM!
The collision was a blinding flash of light. The crimson spear shattered, its chakra dissipating in a shockwave of red energy. Genichi tore through the shockwave, his fist connecting with the Susanoo's head.
Current Drive: 1 Billion Volts!
CRACK! BOOM!
The Susanoo's armor fractured, then its head exploded. The shockwave from the impact was so powerful that it completely disintegrated Tekka's reanimated body.
In that instant, attacks from both Nagato and Madara arrived. Wooden tendrils shot from the ground, attempting to ensnare him, while the blade of Madara's own perfect Susanoo swung down. But Genichi was already gone, and the Susanoo blade sliced through the now-empty space.
"Genichi is incredible!" the Hyūga jonin reported to the command center. "He destroyed Uchiha Tekka's Susanoo with his bare hands!"
Fugaku Uchiha, listening in, felt a chill run down his spine. To destroy a Susanoo with just taijutsu… it's unimaginable.
"Be on guard!" the Hyūga's voice crackled again. "The enemy is approaching fast! Nagato's Six Paths of Pain are less than two kilometers away!"
"Prepare for battle!" Hiruzen commanded.
In the Sensory Unit, the massive globe of chakra that monitored the village suddenly warped, an indentation appearing on its surface. "Lord Fourth!" Inoichi's voice yelled through the telepathic link. "An attack from above!"
Tsunade looked up. A shadow was falling over the village. The clouds parted to reveal a colossal meteor, large enough to eclipse the entire village, hurtling toward them.
"Is that… a meteor?" Ina whispered in horror.
A wave of despair washed over the jonin of Konoha. There was no defense against something of that magnitude.
"Is this the power of the Rinnegan?" a jonin murmured, his face pale.
Even Hiruzen was sweating. He was about to give the order for the Hokage-level shinobi to form the Four Red Yang Formation to try and mitigate the damage when Genichi's voice echoed in their minds.
"Stand down. The Six Paths of Pain are here. You deal with them. The meteor is mine."
At that moment, the Six Paths of Pain appeared in the skies above Konoha, summoned by the Animal Path. They scattered, descending upon the village. A giant centipede, a crab, a chameleon, a multi-headed dog, and a bizarre, drill-beaked bird were summoned, wreaking havoc in the streets. Jonin squads scrambled to engage them, but the summons were powerful and relentless.
It was chaos.
On the roof of the Hokage Tower, seven figures in black robes and Anbu masks appeared. It was Genichi's seven Zetsu clones, now including the one with the transplanted Rinnegan.
"When did you…?" Tsunade began, staring at the Mangekyō Sharingan in the clone's eye.
"A product of the lab," the Rinnegan-wielding clone replied with a chuckle, offering a convenient half-truth. "The cloning technology has advanced considerably, Tsunade. You should visit sometime."
The clone with Shisui's eye manifested a perfect, emerald-green Susanoo. Another clone created an Ice Golem of equal size. The two giants took to the sky, followed by the other four clones, who used the Lightened Boulder Jutsu to fly.
They met the meteor head-on. The Susanoo and the Ice Golem swung their massive blades, and with a deafening crack, the meteor shattered into dozens of smaller pieces. Before the fragments could rain down on the village, the other four clones unleashed a barrage of Rasenshuriken, obliterating them in a series of brilliant, firework-like explosions.
"I knew he could handle it!" Shinnosuke cheered from below. But his celebration was cut short. "A second one!" he yelled.
Another, even larger meteor was descending from the heavens. But like the first, it was swiftly dealt with.
Meanwhile, on the ground, Kakashi and his team intercepted the Deva Path.
"Be careful," Kakashi warned, his expression grim. "According to the intel, this is the strongest of the Six Paths."
