Clint groaned, grabbing his hair in frustration. "Ugh, why is everyone like this?!"
"Hey, Clint. What are you doing there?" He looked up to see Rowan raising a brow at him.
"I just ate," Clint said quickly, trying to sound casual.
Rowan squinted suspiciously, arms crossed. "You're not trying to escape your job again, are you?"
Clint immediately frowned and puffed out his chest. "Hah! I'm not lying! Here smell my breath if you don't believe me!"
Rowan recoiled and stepped back. "Ew—no thanks, gross. Alright, alright. Go back to your job, man."
With a wave, Rowan walked off. Clint clicked his tongue and muttered, "Tch. Like I'd slack off now…"
He straightened his back and made his way toward the garden—his post for the day. The sun was warm, the breeze light, and the flowers just starting to bloom.
But his mind was still spinning.
