Clint stood still, staring at Kade, who had not moved since Elric gave the signal. The two of them faced each other in the open space surrounded by the watching knights and nobles.
Then, slowly, Kade raised his head, and his expression changed completely. The cheerful and noisy knight that Clint remembered was gone. In his place was someone quiet and focused, with a sharp gaze that could cut through steel.

'Kade in a serious mode is hot.' His eyes widened in shock at his own thought, and he quickly turned his head to the side, looking anywhere but at Kade.
