Chapter 79: The God's Knights
Holy Land - Mary Geoise
Training Ground of the God's Knights
In the depths of the training ground, within a solemn and dignified lounge, an old man with a crescent-moon-shaped hairstyle and sunglasses sat upright, flipping through a book.
Brrring~ Brrring~ Brrring~
Just then, the rhythmic ringing of a Den Den Mushi on the desk broke the silence of the room. The old man stopped reading, reached out, and picked up the receiver.
The next moment, the voice of one of the Five Elders came through. "Saint Garling, CP agents have discovered something that shouldn't exist in an abandoned church in a small country in the Grand Line. Have a few of your men take the new bloods to supervise the CP agents and Marine soldiers in disposing of them."
The old man, called Saint Garling, didn't even raise his head. He answered in a deep, clear voice, "Have the high-ranking flag officers from Marine Headquarters or CP0 carry it out."
"..."
"They shouldn't know about these things. They also have some value; it would be a shame to dispose of them after the mission," the Den Den Mushi, which had taken on the appearance of the goat-bearded Elder, replied calmly.
Garling raised an eyebrow, slightly lifting his eyes to look at the Den Den Mushi on the desk. "What is it?"
"Statues and murals from several hundred years ago."
Garling frowned. An abandoned church, centuries-old statues and murals—this combination of words easily brought to mind the faith they had theoretically eliminated.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Garling posed a question to the Five Elders. "How many statues and murals are there, and how many people may have come into contact with them?"
If no one had come into contact with them, it would be fine. But if many people had, it would be troublesome and might require the Marines to launch a Buster Call.
"The report was just submitted. What you're asking is precisely what the agents need to investigate. You just need to wait for the CP agents and Marine soldiers to clear any hidden dangers, destroy those things, and then dispose of the agents."
"..."
"Alright. I will have two men take the new bloods to carry out this matter." But the next moment, Garling's tone changed, becoming incomparably cold. "However, I suggest you'd best have the Marines prepared to launch a Buster Call at any time."
"..."
A moment later, the Den Den Mushi mimicked the old man on the other side and replied, "We will consider it." With that, the Elder, one of the five highest authorities, cut the call, and the room returned to silence.
"These are eventful times..."
Garling slowly stood up, draped a jet-black cape over his shoulders, picked up his saber, and slowly walked out of the lounge.
...
In the spacious training ground, several shadowy figures were training. There were both men and women, most of them young.
Garling walked out of a dark corridor and came to the edge of the training ground, quietly observing the young "new bloods." They came from the 19 most noble families in the Holy Land.
They were a little surprised by Garling's arrival. The Commander of the God's Knights rarely interacted with them. Because even though they were "new blood," very few of them would end up truly joining the God's Knights. It was even possible that not a single one of them would be able to join.
Garling's eyes swept over the group, and he asked with a blank expression, "Where is the other one?"
The group looked at each other, but in the end, none of them could say where the remaining person was.
Just then, a figure with silver hair, wearing a gas mask, walked out from another corridor. He answered in a hoarse, aged voice, "She is currently in the Sabaody Archipelago, preparing to go to the Grand Line to receive the several precious slave specimens that Saint Cabanha captured from the West Blue."
From a third corridor, a tall old man with a goat skull on his head walked out. A detached voice came from beneath the bone-white skull: "When did Cabanha run off again?"
The old man in the gas mask crossed his arms and said in a calm tone, "Not long ago. He saw the strange incident that happened in the West Blue a few years ago and rushed out."
"Garling, did he submit an application to you?"
Garling frowned. "No."
"Heh heh..." the old man in the gas mask said with a laugh. "Leaving without permission again? That's just like him."
Just then, the old man with the goat skull helmet shouldered his bizarrely shaped weapon and asked in a deep voice, "Garling, why did you call for the two of us?"
To this, Garling pushed up the sunglasses on his face and said concisely, "Next, CP will be cleaning up some things that shouldn't exist in a certain kingdom in the Grand Line. You two will take the new bloods over there. Afterward, dispose of the agents and Marine soldiers."
"A rare mission outside?"
"Alright."
The old man in the gas mask nodded, then turned to the group of new bloods and ordered in a deep voice, "Grab your weapons. You're leaving with the two of us."
With that, he and the other old man who had been assigned the mission walked together into a dark corridor.
The group of young people heard this, suppressed their excitement, and answered in unison, "Yes, sir!"
As their words fell, the group quickly grabbed their weapons and followed in the two men's footsteps. Just as they were about to disappear from the training ground, Garling spoke again. "Inform Cabanha to have him and the other new blood go over as well."
In the dark corridor, the old man with the goat skull helmet heard him and nodded. "I understand."
Grand Line, first half, in the waters near the Sabaody Archipelago.
A luxurious sailing ship flying the flag of the World Government sailed slowly on the azure sea. Inside a lavishly decorated room, a Den Den Mushi rang.
Brrring~ Brrring~ Brrring~
A petite, dark figure reached out, picked up the receiver, and answered the call bluntly. "Who is it?"
"It's me, Cabanha," an old voice came from the Den Den Mushi.
The familiar voice made the petite figure freeze. "Haha..." After two awkward laughs, the small, dark figure quickly asked, "Saint Cabanha, what's the matter? Is there a problem with those slaves? Don't tell me you whipped them to death?"
"..."
After a brief silence, the Den Den Mushi mimicked the old man on the other side and said, annoyed, "The Commander has ordered you to rendezvous with me and then cooperate with the others to carry out a mission. It's said that we need to destroy certain things."
"..." The petite figure froze again. "I have to go too?!"
"Yes," Cabanha said.
"When you came to our family back then, didn't you say that we new bloods wouldn't have to go on missions?!"
"I recall saying rarely."
"..."
Ten thousand meters in the sky.
Arcordon raised an eyebrow, and a smile played on his lips. The next moment, he slowly sheathed his weapon. "The God's Knights... new blood..."
"Heh heh..."
Then, Arcordon retreated another few thousand meters, took out his Den Den Mushi, and prepared to call for backup.
Whatever the Celestial Dragons wanted to destroy, even if it was just shit, he felt it was necessary to snatch it and take a look.
