Chapter 100: Mr. Momora
On the boundless sea, on a small island less than a thousand square meters in area, a slightly chubby, pink-haired man wearing a top hat decorated with three metal studs lay weakly under a coconut tree.
His eyes were tightly closed, his lips were chapped, and he seemed to have lost consciousness. Only the slight rise and fall of his chest proved that he was still alive.
Louis folded his wings and landed softly. Holding the Vivre Card with the name "Mr. Momora" written on it, he sized up the pink-haired man who looked as if he had fainted from hunger.
With just one glance, combining the man's physical condition with the tiny island, which was only a few dozen meters in diameter, Louis deduced the reason for his unconsciousness.
The pink hair, the unremarkable attire, and even the Vivre Card all proved that he was the person Louis had originally been looking for. It's just that... "A partner of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, actually got stranded on this small island and fainted from hunger?" After confirming the man's identity, a subtle change came over Louis's expression.
After casually infusing him with some of his life force, Louis looked at the Vivre Card in his hand, which was gradually stopping its burning, and became even more certain of the man's identity. Then, Louis picked up Momora, left the small island, and spread his wings, slowly ascending into the air.
As he rose, Louis looked at the News Coos that were gradually flying away, and frowned slightly. "A short while ago, the number of News Coos was abnormally high, and now they're all leaving in a group. What are they up to?"
Soon, Louis brought Mr. Momora back to the cloud cave of Avant Heim and placed the still-unconscious man in a room. He then instructed a nearby prototype Flügel to bring him to see him when he woke up.
...
At night, Mr. Momora smelled the aroma of food and opened his eyes in a room. He looked at the soft incandescent light above his head and the clean, smooth white walls around him, and his expression gradually became strange. When he noticed that he didn't feel the slightest swaying characteristic of a ship, his face turned pale.
"Oh no! Could it be that someone saw me without my disguise while I was unconscious, and now I've been thrown in prison?!"
But the next second, he overturned this guess, because he wasn't wearing Seastone shackles to restrict his movements.
"So, does that mean I was rescued?"
Momora's original panicked demeanor changed, and a pensive look appeared on his face.
Just then, the door was slowly pushed open. A beautiful young girl in a simple long dress, with small white wings growing from her lower back, appeared before him. The first moment Momora saw her, he was stunned by her beauty. But gradually, he couldn't smile anymore.
The beautiful girl's stiff smile and the joints on her body made her look like a person, but a closer look revealed the fact that she was not human, which was somewhat chilling.
The monster, disguised as a beautiful girl with white wings, stood quietly at the door and made a "please follow" gesture to Momora.
Momora was taken aback for a moment. Then, information about this kind of thing appeared in his mind, and a look of shock and surprise appeared on his face. "This is one of the constructs created by Louis's ability, as mentioned in the intelligence report!" Momora's unease dissipated, and he proactively followed the steps of the beautiful-looking construct.
"What a coincidence," Momora thought as he walked through the bright and orderly corridor. This encounter felt a bit bizarre. He had been on his way to find Louis when his boat had unexpectedly capsized. He was washed up on that deserted island, and after holding on for some time, he had fainted. He never expected that when he woke up, he would already be on Louis's ship.
Soon, Momora, following the Flügel, arrived in a spacious hall. His eyes scanned the figures gathered together, finally resting on Louis. Then, under everyone's gaze, he raised a hand and greeted them with a smile.
"I've heard a lot about you from Shanks. Since then, I've always wanted to meet you, to know what kind of person you are."
"Today, we finally meet, Louis!"
As he spoke, Mr. Momora had been paying attention to everyone's expressions. What puzzled him was that after hearing his words, they showed no shock at all, not even a hint of surprise.
"???" This wasn't the scene he had expected at all!
To this, Louis replied with a smile and a gentle tone, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Momora."
With that, Louis took out the Vivre Card with his name on it and placed it on the table in front of him.
Momora was taken aback, then understood everything. He scratched his head, a little embarrassed. "So you already knew my identity from the Vivre Card I left behind!"
Louis nodded. "After I noticed your Vivre Card starting to burn, I went looking in your direction and found that you weren't far from us. Then, I brought you, who had fainted from hunger, back here."
Nearby, Uta was lying on the sofa, swinging her fair, round calves, and asked with great curiosity, "You're a partner of the Pirate King, Roger, right? Why did you end up stranded on a deserted island?"
Hearing this, the embarrassment on Momora's face deepened. He couldn't help but show an awkward but polite smile. In the end, he gave a weak laugh and braced himself to answer, "Not all of us were monsters. Only Roger, Rayleigh, Gabban, and Oden could, under certain circumstances, ignore natural disasters. Compared to them, the rest of us are only slightly stronger than ordinary people."
"As for why I'm here..." Momora's eyes moved from Uta to Louis. The next moment, he sat down opposite them and grinned. "Of course it was to come and see Louis! After I found out your route, I managed to find the time to come here specifically!"
The group was taken aback and subconsciously repeated, "Came here specifically to find Louis?"
A flash of understanding crossed Louis's eyes. The reason Mr. Momora was so close to them was that he had been heading in their direction all along.
"But... how did you know our route?" Louis frowned slightly. He was a little concerned about this.
The others' expressions also changed slightly.
Seeing this, Momora laughed. "Don't worry, I have a special intelligence source. That's how I was able to track you. The World Government won't be able to deduce your whereabouts so easily!"
Then, Momora explained his true purpose. He was now on a special mission entrusted to him by Captain Roger. He was worried that if Louis were to search for him, he might inadvertently lead the World Government's attention over, disrupting the plan. Therefore, Momora had chosen to proactively come and meet with Louis.
