Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Levos vs. Zamasu

A streak of deep crimson blood slashed across Bulma's chest.

The sight ignited a storm of killing intent around Levos, and the temperature in the entire factory seemed to plummet.

He jerked his head up, eyes locked on the figure hovering in the air.

"Zamasu."

"Oh? I didn't expect a mere mortal to recognize a god."

Levos's expression turned pitch-black. Without a word, he reached behind and grabbed Pilaf by the collar.

In the blink of an eye, their figures vanished.

Moments later, Bulma's wounded body lay atop the steps of the Lookout.

"Dende," Levos ordered coldly. "Heal her. Now."

Startled by the severity of the situation, Dende didn't ask questions. He immediately extended his hand, and a soft, healing glow emerged from his palm.

Within seconds, Bulma's bleeding stopped, her breath stabilized, and life returned to her complexion.

Only then did Levos speak. "Sorry, Dende. I know this wasn't part of the plan. But I can't ignore this anymore."

"What… what happened?" Dende asked, stunned.

But Levos was already gone.

Central Capital.

Mai's neck was clenched in a powerful grip, her feet dangling above the ground.

She struggled with all her might, but it was hopeless.

She couldn't breathe. Couldn't scream.

It felt like drowning, clutching at invisible driftwood that offered no salvation.

"Ghh… ghk…"

Her throat convulsed, but no sound came out. Tears streamed down her cheeks as her heart felt like it was coming to a stop.

Is this... death?

She shut her eyes, ready to accept the end.

Then, a red light burst to life, surrounding her.

The hand around her throat suddenly released.

She gasped for air and opened her tear-streaked eyes.

Through blurred vision, she saw a silhouette.

His hair was soaked with sweat, clinging to his sharp, bloodstained face.

"Zamasu…" the figure growled, voice hoarse and soaked in rage.

His eyes burned crimson with murderous intent.

Mai suddenly realized the one who had shielded her… was Levos.

Tears welled again, but this time they weren't from fear.

She pointed a trembling finger at the enemy. "Why? Why did you kill those innocent children?!"

The green-skinned man, clutching a wounded shoulder, smirked cruelly. "Filthy mortals. It's not about age. All are to be cleansed."

Mai froze in disbelief.

How could anyone… anyone… be so inhuman?

The firelight illuminated his face. Ashen green skin, a silver mohawk, narrow eyes filled with disdain.

Mai's voice cracked. "You monster!"

Zamasu sneered, his lips curling into a devil's smile.

"Monster? No. I am a god. And in this world, gods hold absolute authority."

To him, humans were mere insects. Nothing more than dust to be erased.

"You don't deserve to be called a god!" Mai snapped.

Zamasu chuckled coldly. "Petty mortal. You'll be the first to vanish."

His hand slowly reached behind him.

A chill ran up Mai's spine.

The killing intent was suffocating.

She backed away instinctively, but her back hit the wall.

There was nowhere left to run.

Zamasu lunged.

His arm swung out, summoning a dark blade of ki, aiming to skewer her.

Crack!

A hand, shrouded in blazing red light, slammed against Zamasu's forearm.

The sound of shattering bone rang through the air.

Zamasu recoiled, shocked. "You… you actually hurt me?!"

He was a god. How could a mortal touch him?

Mai was frozen. She had been certain she'd die.

But just as the fatal strike came… he appeared.

That hand, bloody but powerful, wrapped in crimson aura like a living flame, had blocked it.

Its owner's eyes were bloodshot, and his whole body radiated unrestrained fury.

Like a demon from ancient legend. A destroyer of gods.

"God?" Levos sneered. "So what?"

Zamasu staggered back.

How could a mere mortal's aura feel so overwhelming?

"This… this is impossible!"

Levos's aura exploded in red light as he charged.

Zamasu's eyes widened in horror. He raised his arm

BOOM!

A punch sent him flying across the ground, crashing violently.

"Damn it!"

He scrambled to dodge the next attack, but was too slow.

A muffled blast echoed.

Zamasu's right arm was severed at the elbow, blown clean off.

He crashed into a wall, the impact carving a crater into it.

Before he could recover, another strike came.

He threw up his remaining arm. Too late.

Snap!

His left arm broke under the force.

Levos's blazing aura surged higher, enveloping Zamasu like a storm.

The next punch hurtled down, aimed for his skull.

Zamasu twisted desperately, trying to dodge.

But he couldn't even see the attack coming.

SMASH!

The blow landed square on his face.

Then another. And another.

One punch after another relentless, earth-shaking blows rained down.

Zamasu felt the back of his skull slam repeatedly against the wall.

His vision blurred. His face felt like it was melting.

He could no longer distinguish pain from agony.

His lungs struggled for breath as blood poured from his mouth.

He choked out words through broken teeth.

"A mere… mortal… how…"

His mind was filled with fury, hatred, and disbelief.

But then Levos's voice came, cold as death.

"You said humans are weak? Then I'll show you."

"Even gods can be brought to their knees."
