Chapter 185 - Chapter 185: Beerus Unleashed

"Super Saiyan God…? So my prophecy was real?" Beerus muttered, puzzled.

Before he could think it through, Future Trunks flashed in front of him and bowed.

"Lord Beerus, please grant me your guidance."

Beerus' eyes flickered with a dangerous light. "I am a God of Destruction, and you brats think I'm your sparring dummy?"

Trunks flushed. "You misunderstand, Lord Beerus. We mean no offense."

"Hmph. It's been a while since I've stretched properly. I'll entertain you for a moment. As for the price of angering a Destroyer… I hope you can afford it."

"We'll find a way to make amends "

"Save it. Come at me."

Whoosh, whoosh

Sword-light laced the air, crisscrossing into a dense web that rushed down over Beerus. Every arc of ki carried terrifying weight.

Trunks didn't dare hold back he went all out from the first step.

"Your power's well below the last two," Beerus sneered.

He raised a hand and blurred, batting aside the blades barehanded.

Rrrrmmmm

The backlash howled in every direction.

"You've got some bite," Beerus said coolly, "but you're nowhere near my level."

"Is that so?" Trunks' voice was even.

At his thought, a red aura sheathed the greatsword in his hands. His wrists turned; the blade became a storm of leaping cold gleams that bent the air itself.

Beerus punched. Purple Hakai energy wrapped his fist.

Bang bang bang!

In an eyeblink, blade and fist collided hundreds of times.

At last Beerus' eyes narrowed; he slid aside.

"That sword… interesting. It can parry me? So that's your trump card."

Down in the garden, Buu was already pouring energy into Piccolo to restore him.

Champa watched the fight, grin wicked. "Beerus got sloppy. Some Destroyer look at him flail."

Vados cut him a sidelong look. "Wasn't that you as well, Champa? When you first faced Rose Gogeta, you could've ended it cleanly, and yet…"

"Oh?" Whis arched a brow. "So Lord Champa also underestimated his foe?"

"How was I supposed to know Universe 7 had that many freaks?" Champa snapped. "And they're shameless just get stronger and stronger mid-fight!"

"Then it's no wonder Lord Beerus is struggling against those who bested someone stronger than you," Whis said, smiling. "Ho ho…"

Even as he spoke, his eyes flicked toward Levos. The man still had his head down, eating like the battle above didn't exist.

"Uh-oh. Trunks can't hold much longer!"

Everyone could see the tide turning. Trunks had only just touched divine ki; Beerus, bored and irritable after back-to-back brawls, had stopped playing nice.

"What do we do? Levos, should we fuse and join in?" Gohan asked.

Piccolo stepped forward. "I'm not Beerus' match, but my stamina's back. I can stall him again."

"No need," Levos said, rising to his feet. "This ends now."

Swish!

In the next instant he was in the sky, between Beerus and Trunks.

"Lord Beerus my turn."

"You little using me as a training tool? I'll show you your place!" Beerus' temper snapped. Dark violet fire burst around him. "This is the Power of Destruction."

Levos eyed him once and his body bloomed with red-green chitin. He shifted into Perfect Cell Max.

"Oh? That form doesn't look very Saiyan."

"It isn't. It's Perfect Cell Max."

"Cell… Max?" Beerus frowned. "Whatever it is that's what you brought to stand against me?"

"That's right."

"To be honest, this is getting dull. One strike to decide it?" Beerus picked at his ear, casual as a cat.

"Fine."

Their auras detonated scarlet against amethyst colliding in midair. The space between them frayed into black seams; shockwaves braided overhead, ionizing the air into a web of crackling arcs.

Future Trunks' chest tightened. Power like that wasn't something he could even stand near. Just the pressure pinned his lungs; he had to drop back to the ground.

"As expected of the mightiest Destroyer! Lord Beerus is no joke," Vados murmured.

"And Mr. Levos is no slouch he's holding even with Lord Beerus," Whis admitted, impressed.

"Oi, Levos! Do it right and win, will ya?" Champa crowed, drunk on schadenfreude.

Goku trembled with excitement. "So awesome… my whole body's on fire. I wanna jump in so bad!"

"Levos whatever happens, win," someone breathed.

Vados' smile faded. "At this level, a direct clash will shred Earth in an instant."

"That won't do," Whis said gravely. "Even if they try to cage the fallout, this planet can't take it."

Both angels lifted their staffs. Rings of ripples rolled outward, smoothing the raging sky.

"If you must fight, please do it in subspace."

They floated up, voices mild but edged. With two taps of their staffs, a vast external barrier domed over the combatants.

Levos and Beerus traded a glance and checked their surging ki.

"Then let's go."

Each found a rip in the air and slid through.

The pressure vanished. Everyone below exhaled at once.

"The weight on my head I thought I was going to explode," Krillin muttered.

"Same here. If they'd slipped even a little…" Yamcha shivered.

"Earth should be safe now?" Future Trunks asked, frowning.

"Maybe," Piccolo said, unsure.

Goku just stared upward, aching with longing. "I really wanted to watch…"

"You never learn, do you?" someone snorted.

"Please let Levos win," another whispered.
