Chapter 28 - Aster Returns, What Truth Lies Behind The Horse?

Kael shot Eryn a look, but the young mercenary turned away, deliberately avoiding his gaze.

"Eryn…" Kael sighed, a note of resignation in his voice. "Did you really lose the horse?" he asked, his tone laced with doubt. 

Now that he thought about it, if Aster had truly stolen the horse, then why did it look like the horse was trying to ride him instead of the other way around?

What puzzled him even more was that Eryn had only bought the horse a few days ago in the village before they crossed the grassland, yet it followed his commands as if it had known him as its master for years!

Eryn shook his head. He lowered it slightly, tilting it just enough toward Kael as if to appear innocent and honest. "I really did," he said, almost too purely. Then, glancing at the black horse now approaching them at a calm trot, he added, "I let it loose."
