Mila coughed again, this time longer, her chest rising and falling unevenly.
"My throat hurts…" she mumbled drowsily, voice hoarse.
Julia exhaled in annoyance, getting up from the bed. 'Didn't I give her medicine already?' she muttered under her breath.
She got up and took the syrup bottle. The label on the bottle clearly said: 5 ml for children under 10. Do not exceed dosage.
But Julia was too tired and annoyed to consider these details.
Another loud, rattling cough sounded in the silent room.
Julia's jaw clenched.
"I can't even sleep properly here," she hissed. "What a little troublemaker…"
Julia was extremely sleepy and with her half-squinted eyes, she opened the syrup bottle.
"Open your mouth," she said sharply to the little girl who had tears in her eyes because of the cough.
The little girl blinked in confusion, bleary-eyed.
"Open your mouth." Julia's voice cut through the air, firm and irritated.
