Elvis looked up sharply. "How did they find out the truth?" he asked, his tone edged with suspicion.
Anna shook her head slowly. "I don't know. They just called me today and informed me. I had to come back, so they wouldn't find me suspicious."
Her voice was calm, but her fingers tightened slightly.
Across from them sat the Madam of the Waverly family, Gracy Waverly. She leaned back gracefully, a faint smirk playing on her lips. Her eyes studied Anna carefully.
She didn't believe her.
But she had no proof. Not yet.
Old Master Waverly glanced down at his phone again. The screen reflected in his glasses as he scrolled through the trending posts. He let out a slow breath.
"This is already out in the open," he said.
He lifted his head and looked directly at Anna.
"We will welcome you back publicly. We'll arrange a grand welcome party."
Elvis stopped scrolling and nodded. Gracy's smirk faded into something more thoughtful.
