The morning sun spilled softly through the tall windows of the dormitory, illuminating the room in gentle hues of gold. I stood before the mirror, fastening the final clasp of the Arcadia Academy uniform. The white and silver threads shimmered faintly under the light—an attire symbolizing both purity and power. Appropriate, perhaps, for someone like me.
"Finally... today is the day," I murmured, brushing a stray strand of hair behind my ear.
I had expected to arrive at the Academy a month later. The opening of Beastridge Mountain had changed everything. Arcadia Academy, holding the largest quota of entries into the sanctum, had adjusted its admissions accordingly. The Church saw this as no mere coincidence—it was divine orchestration. And so, I was sent early.
"The divine revelation urged me to enroll… The ghost of the past is returning."
My fingers paused on the hem of my sleeve.
