Chapter 61 - The Prisoner and the Queen

That evening, Rossweise slowly opened her eyes. In front of her was a pure white ceiling. Under her was a soft bed. The blanket covering her still had a familiar smell.

She tried to sit up, but found she had no strength. It was as if all her energy had been drained. So, she obediently lay back down and tried to remember what happened before she passed out.

She remembered using the Blood Enchantment on Leon that night. Seeing Leon's willingly corrupted side made her very satisfied. Then, with the effect of the dragon tattoos, they quickly came together.

After that… it felt like she had slept for a very long time. During that time, she seemed to have had many dreams.

Some dreams were of Leon taking care of her day and night. Others were of Leon dressing her up as a shameful bunny girl to fulfill his strange desires while she slept peacefully.

She even dreamed… that Leon had died? Her daughters held a big funeral for him—

Hmm, that must have been a dream. It was too absurd to be real. Such a thing could never happen.

But then, why was she unconscious for so long? Was it because of the backlash from the Blood Enchantment?

Rossweise had done a lot of research before using it. With her dragon king body, she should have been able to handle the backlash.

Why did she fall into a coma after using it?

Could it be because she had… given her own—

"Ugh…"

Suddenly, a childish sound came from beside her.

Rossweise looked down and saw a tuft of little hair gently scratching her hand. It was Muwen, the young dragon girl, lying by the bed, breathing evenly in her sleep.

Rossweise smiled, tired but relieved. She raised her hand and gently stroked her daughter's small head. This small movement woke Muwen up.

Her brain not fully working yet, Muwen swayed sleepily on the chair, as if about to fall asleep again. Rossweise smiled and called out softly, "Muwen."

"Hmm… Mom? Mom, you are awake!" Muwen immediately became alert, all sleepiness gone. She grabbed Rossweise's hand and pressed her mom's palm to her own face. Tears of excitement filled her eyes. "Mom, you are finally awake! Muwen was so worried about you."

"Do not cry, Muwen. Mom is fine," Rossweise wiped the tears from her daughter's eyes and pinched her chubby cheeks. "Sorry for making you worry. What about your sister?"

"Sister went back to school this morning."

"Oh… she went back this morning." Rossweise did a quick calculation in her head. When she fell into a coma, Noah had just started her break. Now Noah had gone back. That meant she had probably been unconscious for more than two days.

More than two days…

Suddenly, Rossweise realized something and tried hard to sit up. But her body was too weak. She could not find any strength. The strong nature of a dragon king's body had let Rossweise wake up early from the coma caused by the Blood Enchantment's backlash.

But even though her mind was awake, her body was still suffering from the side effects. In other words, Rossweise was no different from being unconscious; she could only talk to her family now. And the thing she had just realized was… Leon.

But there was no sign of Leon anywhere in the room. He was a proud and clever man who would choose to endure and wait to reach his goals. And this time… her coma had given him a perfect chance to escape.

Rossweise closed her eyes in frustration. She bit her lip hard, regretting her miscalculation from two days ago. Damn it. If she had calculated more carefully, maybe he could not have gotten far, and she could still send someone to catch him. Just as she thought—

"Muwen, how about we have fish for dinner tonight? I just caught a very— Oh, my beloved wife, you are awake."

That annoying nickname, that smug tone— It was all too familiar!

Rossweise opened her eyes and looked toward the voice. When she saw that bastard's figure, Rossweise rarely showed a surprised look.

"You… you did not leave…"

Her mind was not fully awake yet, and Rossweise spoke the question she cared about most. Only after she said it did she remember Muwen was beside her.

"Ah, I mean… I did leave," Leon shrugged, trying to make it sound normal.

"I went for a walk in the back hills, you know, just looking around, breathing the fresh air."

Rossweise felt relief inside. "Well… and you caught such a big fish."

"Of course, to help my wife get her strength back."

"You—" Rossweise was speechless.

A blush spread on her cheeks.

"Dad, that is so embarrassing!" Muwen covered her ears.

Leon grinned and handed the fish he caught to Muwen. "Go find Anna and ask her to prepare the fish for dinner. Oh, and I need to talk to Mom alone for a while, so do not disturb us before dinner."

"Okay, I understand," Muwen nodded, then hurried out of the room, carefully closing the door behind her.

"I thought you might just leave your daughter and run away," Rossweise said.

Leon sat on the chair by the bed, leaned back, and put his feet up, acting like a boss. "I still have a lot of things to settle, why would I run away?"

"Things? What things?" Rossweise asked.

He reached out his hand, wiggling his fingers between himself and Rossweise. "The things between you and me."

Rossweise's heart jumped, sensing danger. She pulled her arm back under the covers. Even though she had a feeling what might happen, she still asked, "What… what do you mean?"

"Do you remember what you did to me when I first woke up over a month ago?" Leon said. He stood up from his seat and sat on the edge of the bed. He reached out and tucked a strand of Rossweise's hair behind her ear.

Rossweise stared at him closely. "No… Leon, I am very weak right now…"

"Weak? Was I not weak back then too? I had only woken up ten minutes earlier. I had not even had a sip of water, and then you walked in and did what you did to me. Have you forgotten everything?"

Rossweise bit her lip. She tried to gather her magical power, but nothing happened. So she tried to threaten him. "Leon, my body will not be like this forever. When I recover… you should know what will happen to you. So, do not make any decisions you will regret."

"Regret? No, my dear wife, this is the best decision I have ever made in my life."

"Leon!…"

"If anyone should regret it, it should be you," Leon said slowly. He pulled the covers back from Rossweise's body, letting her perfect form show under his gaze.

"You should regret rushing to get revenge as soon as I woke up. You should regret using the Blood Enchantment a few days ago. You should regret threatening me when you are completely helpless."

Leon moved his fingers lightly over Rossweise's cheek. Then he moved down, touching her chin, her neck, her collarbone, and her shoulders. Finally, he undid the straps of Rossweise's nightgown, showing the dragon tattoo on her chest. It was shimmering with a soft purple light.

"Leon… even if I am weak now, do you think you are strong?" Rossweise challenged him. "It has only been two days since I woke from my coma. How much can your body have recovered?"

"Rossweise, I am not afraid of you!" Rossweise might not understand that her words were only making him more determined. But making her, the Silver Dragon Queen, beg for mercy was impossible. She would rather endure than get on her knees and beg!

Leon gently held her chin. The soft glow of the dragon tattoo and Rossweise's panic were reflected in his black eyes.

"Shhh~~"

"My dear Miss Rossweise Melkvey, save your strength."

"Now, it is your turn to be the prisoner."
