Chapter 28 - Chapter 29:When the Head Fell, the Kingdom Fell

Location: Walls of the capital, Rasoma — Kingdom of Wei

Status: Full siege led by Van – 25,000 troops surrounding the city

---

Twenty days had passed.

Van had completely encircled the capital.

No food went in.

No weapons came out.

The walls still stood, but the faces behind them were crumbling.

By the twentieth day,

the soldiers were exhausted,

the supplies nearly gone,

and morale… collapsing.

But Van did not retreat.

He sat in his tent, staring at the map.

His eyes bloodshot from sleepless nights,

his hand resting on his sword,

his mind repeating one line:

> "If I die here… at least my son will live in a whole empire."

And then… disaster struck.

---

As the sun set,

a commander emerged from the capital — unknown, unnamed in any record.

His face hidden behind a silver mask,

his banner showing a black dragon over blood-red.

His name: General Dai-Su —

a forbidden commander of Wei,

a former prisoner,

a devil in strategy, a demon in war.

He led elite forces through ancient tunnels beneath the city,

emerging behind Van's camp,

trapping his army from both front and rear.

One of the officers screamed:

> "My lord! We're surrounded! The enemy's behind us!"

Van drew his sword, climbed a small rise above the camp, and shouted:

> "All who believe in this banner… do not retreat!

We die here, or we're born as kings!"

The soldiers fought like beasts…

But numbers do not lie.

Van was about to be struck from behind —

when the sound of war drums shattered the sky…

from the east.

From beyond the mountains,

white-and-gold banners surged through the dusk —

the Royal Peace Battalion, led by Nerin.

Their faces were burned from the forest battle,

but their eyes blazed like fire.

Nerin charged ahead on horseback, leaping over boulders like lightning.

And when she saw General Dai-Su —

she didn't hesitate.

She leapt from her horse in a legendary arc, sword raised.

Dai-Su tried to shout:

> "Who does this woma—"

But he never finished.

She split him in half in a single strike —

from head… to silence.

The head fell.

The banner fell.

And with it… the Kingdom of Wei's resistance.

Van watched it all, and cried out:

> "NERIN!!!"

She turned, smiling through her tears, and whispered:

> "I told you… I wouldn't let them take you from me again."

---

With Dai-Su's death, Wei's forces collapsed into chaos.

Van sealed the last breach in the wall,

and his army stormed in from both sides.

Within hours…

the capital fell.

The imperial flag rose over the Black Palace tower.

Van entered the city with Nerin beside him.

Every general in the army bowed before her —

not just as queen… but as the one who saved their emperor.

And in the main square, Van raised his sword and declared:

> "The Kingdom of Wei has fallen.

A new era begins.

From this land… we will forge an East that's eternal, and a West that's unbreakable."
