Chapter 69 - Chapter 68: Invitation

The night air still felt heavy on my lungs as I slipped through the silent corridors of the academy. At that hour, there were only a few instructors patrolling, but they were only half-hearted, so it wasn't too difficult. I walked quickly, barely breathing, as if the sound of my own footsteps could give me away. My mind was racing, trapped in a single thought that gnawed at me inside: those murderers.

The face of the last one I saw before fleeing was still etched in my mind; the cold, almost inhuman expression in his eyes brought back unpleasant memories.

—The next time I leave the capital… —I murmured through clenched teeth, tightening my fist—. We'll settle this… I promise.
