Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Double S Waste Ability

Blue Star.

Huaihai City, Huaihai University.

The massive square of Huaihai University was packed with students. Hundreds of young people stood shoulder to shoulder, their faces filled with anticipation and anxiety.

Smith stood among them, silently listening to the impassioned speeches echoing through the plaza.

"Students! You've worked hard for three long years—over a thousand days and nights—just for this very moment!"

"Today will determine your fate. I hope each of you awakens the abilities best suited to you!"

That's right—in this world, once a person turned eighteen, they could awaken their superpowers.

These abilities varied widely. Some were elemental powers like fire, water, or wind. Others belonged to systems like object control, healing support, beast taming, or even beast transformation. And occasionally, someone would awaken something truly rare—an ability classified under the mysterious or special systems.

But Smith wasn't a native of this world. He had just woken up in this place, a world transformed by the resurgence of spiritual energy.

Unlike schools on Earth, where subjects like math, literature, physics, chemistry, and history were standard, the institutions in this world focused entirely on supernatural arts. Power determined one's worth. It was the foundation of survival. Knowledge of the supernatural was far more valuable than any conventional education.

---

At that moment, the awakening ceremony in the square had officially begun.

A student walked up and placed their hand on a glowing crystal orb.

"Beast Transformation—Bear Type—D-level!" the examiner announced.

Cheers erupted from the crowd.

Another student followed.

"Elemental—Water—E-level!"

"Support—Illusion System—D-level!"

One by one, students awakened their abilities. Some cried in joy, others hung their heads in disappointment. Each awakening brought excitement and roars from the surrounding students.

Then came a new name.

"Next—Smith!"

The examiner called it out with a neutral expression.

Smith inhaled deeply and stepped forward.

The crowd erupted with speculation.

"Isn't that Smith, son of Jiang Lei? That Class A lightning powerhouse from Huaihai City?"

"I heard his dad is a top-tier A-level lightning-type superhuman. If the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, Smith must be a powerhouse too."

"He's so handsome and strong. I'd totally have his baby!"

The students buzzed with excitement and envy.

But only Smith himself knew the truth.

Yes, his body was indeed the son of Jiang Lei.

But he wasn't.

He was just an ordinary guy who had transmigrated from a parallel world called Blue Star. He had no superpowers—none whatsoever.

Still, he had no choice now. He had to step forward and place his hand on the transparent crystal sphere in front of him.

Suddenly, two dazzling beams of light shot straight into the sky, illuminating the heavens.

"What the hell?! Dual powers?!"

"And those lights… they're at least B-level and above!"

"Double B-levels?! This is insane!"

The crowd exploded.

Superpowers in this world were ranked from highest to lowest as follows: S, A, B, C, D, E, and F.

D-level was considered average, a pass.

C was good.

B was excellent.

A was elite.

S… S-level was divine.

Then, above everyone's heads, two bold lines of glowing text appeared in the air.

"S-Level—Wood Element!"

"S-Level—Spiritual Eye!"

The square fell into stunned silence.

Double S-level.

Since the spiritual awakening of humanity, only a dozen people across the entire planet had awakened even one S-level power.

And now, someone had awakened two.

Before today, only two people in human history had ever awakened double S-level abilities.

Now, there was a third.

The entire university went into chaos.

Teachers stood frozen in disbelief.

Even the strongest instructor at Huaihai University only possessed an A-level power.

The best student in school history had been a B-level.

And now?

Smith had just awakened double S-levels.

The most powerful student in the academy's entire history.

Gasps and cheers echoed across the square, but the celebration didn't last long. Someone soon pointed at the text still floating in the sky.

"Wait… Look again at the specific abilities."

"Spiritual Eye… Isn't that ranked as the worst, most useless ability?"

"And Wood Element… wasn't that the second most useless?"

"Double S-levels… but of the two most useless powers?"

Laughter followed.

"Hahaha! This is rich! The most powerful trash talent in history!"

"What a shame. He awakened two S-levels, but they're both worthless."

"They're not even as good as dual C-level wind and fire abilities!"

"I'd rather have a B-level Holy attribute!"

"Wood plus Spiritual Eye… the best pair of losers!"

Suddenly, the admiration turned into ridicule.

Just moments ago, they had been in awe.

Now, they were laughing.

Smith stood silently, absorbing their words.

His so-called "luck" had dealt him the worst hand possible—double S-tier… in the most useless categories.

"Wood abilities? What can you even do with that—grow trees? Heal people? Even Water does that better."

"And Spiritual Eye? Isn't that the one with photographic memory? Great for reading books and that's it!"

Even the examiner on the stage couldn't hide his disappointment. He shook his head and quietly stepped aside.

Smith clenched his fists.

His mind reeled.

But then, suddenly…

> "System has detected awakening. Binding unique bloodline system…"

> "You've unlocked Bloodline Limit: Wood Release!"

> "You've unlocked Bloodline Limit: Sharingan!"

> "Your chakra has automatically adapted to this world's spiritual energy."

His vision lit up as new information filled his mind.

---

---

Smith froze.

Then his eyes widened.

"…No way… This… This is a jackpot!"

He couldn't contain his excitement.

Wood Release?

Sharingan?

No one in this world knew what these were.

But he did.

Back in his original world, these two powers came from a legendary manga—the stuff of gods and monsters.

Wood Release? That was Senju Hashirama's power. You want one arm? Here's a thousand.

Sharingan? Not just a simple eye power—it was a visual god-technique. And if it evolved? Susanoo. Tsukuyomi. Kamui.

Just thinking about it gave Smith goosebumps.

Wood Release plus Sharingan?

That was a god-tier combination.

And yet here everyone thought he had drawn the short stick.

"Student," the examiner sighed, placing a hand on Smith's shoulder. "I know this is difficult to accept… but you'll need to learn to live with disappointment. You have my condolences."

Smith grinned.

"Oh, it's definitely hard to accept… but I'm really not sad at all."

He turned and strolled off the stage.

Everyone stared after him, confused.

"Did he snap under the pressure?"

"Is he in shock?"

"Must be tough, getting double S-level powers just to find out they're garbage."

"Guess that's what happens when the Jiang family gets too proud. Karma, baby."

Smith heard every word.

But he didn't care.

The "most useless powers in history"?

Let's see how useless they are when he activates Susanoo in the middle of a battlefield.

They would see.

Soon, the world would learn what true power looked like.

The Wood Release and Sharingan weren't weak—they were legendary.

The mortals who mocked him today would one day kneel in awe.

Let the world tremble.
