Valerie could hear the flustering sounds coming from Bery's room as she walked down the hallway. She could smell the lust and hear the sound of her name being plead to from those cute lips. She could remember the frustrated face of the kitten when she told her to leave as well.
All of it created a stabbing sensation inside of the dragon's heart. She knew she'd messed up somehow, and now she'd understood well. It wasn't that her little kitten didn't want to be played with at all. Bery was just too scared to say anything to her.
Valerie slumped against the wall, feeling a range of emotions. She felt happiness at the thought that the kitten did want her body in the same way she wanted Bery's. She felt both sadness and anger at herself for not being able to recognize those things. All because the thing she cared the most about was Bery's safety and comfort.
She sighed and sat against the wall on the floor. The dragon wanted desperately to apologize. Her pride as the long-lived magical beast did not outweigh her need to make things right with Bery, but she didn't even know which thing she should apologize for.
Was she wrong for sparking the kitten's interest, or was she wrong for not having the will to follow through?
Valerie breathed in deeply. She wanted to curse the power of her nose for being able to smell the kitten in heat. It made her own core burn like lava.
The dragon stood from the wall and walked further down the hallway towards a large store room. Inside of this great vault, there were tons of food items frozen in time. One of the many things she'd gotten right in constructing this castle.
Inside of the large room there were many different carcasses of creatures. All of them were hunted by the dragon herself. She could recall the tastes of many of the different species. Which one would be the most pleasing to a kitten?
She spotted a pile of several giant fish and smiled.
Ever since Valerie first spotted Bery, she'd collected many books on matters related to cat people and cats in general. She knew that they liked warm places, so she prepared a warm room for her. She knew that they liked having their ears scratched, so she tried to do the same for her kitten. Bery never actually denied liking the feeling, but she said that her ears were sensitive.
Valerie picked up several of the large fish—at least as big as her tail in dragon form—and bagged up some spices on the way out. The valley inside of her mountain was home to many delectable spices that Valerie had tried over the years, and indeed, some of them were grown in her castle's garden.
Remembering her garden made Valerie stop and wonder if Bery would like flowers. But that was nonsense. Of course, Bery loved flowers. She loved painting nature, and she commonly painted flower fields.
With that in mind, the dragon collected striking blue flowers from her garden that matched the tip of the kitten's ears. It was a similar thought process to when she made the dress for the kitten. She'd adorned it with pretty blue flowers.
She put them in a nice vase and set them aside in the kitchen.
The dragon pulled on a white apron and prepared the ingredients. She cut into the fish and spices with precision and speed. Tragically, Valerie had no talent in cooking. It had taken her hours and hours of painstaking effort to make edible food.
At first, she'd always overcooked things with her breath. Several times she'd burnt down an entire room, hoping that her efforts would be able to reach the girl she'd always had her eyes on. Valerie was overjoyed that Bery enjoyed her food, so now it was time to make an apology meal.
The dragon pumped her fist and nodded seriously. She would make the best meal the kitten ever had. After all, how could she be worthy of someone so delicate and sweet if she didn't try her hardest?
Valerie set fire to the wood beneath her stove with the flick of her fingers. She placed the pan to fry the fish. Meanwhile, she brought out a mortar and pestle to grind up all of the seasonings. A bit of salt and pepper were a must. She added the many different varieties of leafy spices for smell and flavor, and she mixed them together.
She seasoned the fish with her orange mixture before melting some fat on the pan to oil it up. As it turned out, the giant boar meat they'd eaten the other day gave them a nice oil for the pan.
Valerie threw the fish into her pan along with some zest from the yellow fruit of a local tree and covered it with a glass lid.
As that heated up, the dragon placed a frozen cake into the oven. It would be many hours before they could eat it, but maybe such sweetness would make Bery melt into sugary bliss. Valerie smiled at that image in her mind. She wanted to make Bery happy again and let the weary kitten rest upon her lap.
She's so cute that I want to kidnap her again. Valerie had so many urges to resist while looking at the kitten.
The dragon had to resist squeezing the kitten and holding onto her forever. She resisted biting those ears every time she saw them fluttering around. Every time she saw Bery's face go bright red, she had the urge to lick her. All of Valerie's strongest urges were somehow suppressed by the even greater worry that she'd do some irreversible damage.
Telling Bery that the two of them would spend eternity together was not just for Bery's sake. It was so Valerie could take her time experiencing everything she ever wanted to with the object of her desire.
I'm so selfish that I want to hoard this kitten all to myself.
Valerie's unfocused mind barely noticed that the fish was done, and she pulled the pan from the stove. Lifting the lid provided a heavenly scent to her nose, but that was not enough! The presentation also matters!
Indeed, everything surrounding Bery had to be meticulous. It was as if the more Valerie did for her, the more that Bery would fall into love. At the very least, the kitten would not want to leave a place that was like heaven. In a way, it made Valerie feel like the cunning evil vampires to the north. Promises of a lavish lifestyle for something dangerous in return. But what could be dangerous about loving her with everything that I have?
The dragon shook her head and plated the food before lidding it with a half spherical piece of metal. Something she'd found from that strange large metal object, but she added her own touch to it in the form of a magical enchantment.
With that out of the way, she removed her apron and grabbed the small flower vase. The dragon took a whiff of the blue petals and smiled.
Her heart thumped in her chest as she walked towards Bery's room. By the time she neared the door, she wondered if the kitten would hear her loud thumping heart.
Valerie took a deep breath and steeled herself. She reached her hand up and began knocking on the door.
It didn't take long for the kitten to open it. However, the sight made Valerie's will to resist the kitten almost impossible. She was practically in ruins. Her hair was disheveled. Her cheeks were flushed, and her dress hung loosely from her shoulder. And a strong unmistakable scent flooded Valerie's nostrils. To make matters worse, the kitten leapt into Valerie's chest, and the dragon had to move the flower vase for it to not be squished.
"I'm sorry," the kitten said as she wrapped her arms even tighter around Valerie.
The dragon used all of her willpower and some of her magic to calm the beating of her heart and the thoughts inside of her head. She wrapped her arms around the cat and patted Bery's back.
"I am the one who should apologize. You did nothing wrong."
Bery shook her head. There was a clear uneasiness to her voice, but she slowly managed. "No...if I wanted something...I should have asked for it."
If Valerie wasn't struggling before, she was definitely at war with herself now. There was a strong urge to push this little kitten down right now and feast upon her like some delicacy. Her tongue wanted to explore every inch of the person in front of her, but she reeled herself in.
Her hand reached towards the top of the kitten's head and started petting. "It's okay." Valerie pushed the kitten away from her for both her own sanity and so she could hand Bery the flowers. "I...I got you these. I thought you might like them, and I prepared a dinner for you as well."
Bery smiled and took the flowers offered to her, giving them a smell. "They are wonderful!"
The dragon sighed in relief. It was silly of her to expect the kitten to remain angry at her.
Bery's face went bright red, and she placed the flower vase on her desk. Her tail curled ominously between her legs, but when she arrived back at Valerie the reason was made very clear.
The cat stood on the tips of her toes and gave Valerie a kiss on the cheek. She hugged the dragon before speaking slowly into her ear.
"I'm hungry...But for dessert…"
Valerie stared at the kitten with wide eyes. She watched her pull down the strap of her dress exposing a small white hill. A pink nipple became visible in that instant, and the kitten continued with her devious tongue.
"...You can have me..."
