Chapter 47 - The mole

XAVIER

"I really am very proud of you, son," my father said, clapping me on the back.

I turned slightly to look at my father who was walking by my side. He was beaming at me, his eyes lit up with sincere pride.

"Thank you, father," I murmured.

"You know, with every day that passes, I am sure I made the right decision when I made you and your brothers Alphas of Silver Creek. Look at what you have accomplished in such a short time." He stroked his beard and chuckled.

"I would admit, Xavier, that problem with White Claw gave me an ulcer for weeks. I couldn't find away around it and everyone knows how stubborn Landon can get. But now you have him eating out of your hands, right?"

He grinned at me and I nodded.

It had been two days since the festival at White Claw. The council and my father had been ecstatic about the news that we were finally going to resume trading with White Claw.
