EMMA
I paced back and forth across my room like a caged animal, unable to sit still.
First, Xerxes had humiliated me, making me feel ridiculous for nearly kissing him. Now Xander was acting like I was some filthy little secret he couldn't admit to. Goddess! The Rinnegan brothers were infuriating.
I shook my head sharply, trying to block out Moon's persistent pleas to go back to Xander. I refused. I had more pressing things to worry about like questions with no answers, memories that didn't make sense.
Just then, my stomach let out a loud growl, dragging me from my thoughts. I paused, only now realizing I had skipped dinner. My eyes drifted to the board I'd hung on the wall, its notes and markings waiting to be studied again tonight. But I couldn't focus on an empty stomach. Food first.
Since Lita would be asleep by now, I figured I'd just head down and fix something for myself.
