Chapter 9 - Chapter 1: The Invisible Stone

Rajat, a physics student in a prestigious college in Mumbai, was preoccupied with his exams. In search of an ancient tome that was buried among history books, he reached the basement of the college's old library, which was usually closed. The air smelled of old paper and dust. Only the light of a single strong bulb created a dim atmosphere.

In a corner, behind a large wooden crate, his eyes fell on an unusual stone embedded in the wall. It was not like an ordinary clean stone. Its surface shone as if it had been mixed with transparent moon dust, and unknown, strange patterns of symbols were carved on it – some circles, some like stars, and some like vague insects. When Rajat took it in his hand, a strange warmth and a tingling sensation passed through his fingers.

Suddenly, the atmosphere blurred before his eyes. The bookshelves and walls distorted like clouds. And there... between them... something moved. A vague, pale-blue, thin figure, humanoid but not quite human, moved slowly. For a moment, Rajat saw a huge, winged form pass through the roof of the building, and the next moment a gaunt, black shadowy creature pulled a part of its body out of the wall and pulled it back.

What... what is this? Rajat's voice trembled. His heart began to pound. A flash of intense, white light shot from the stone and everything seemed normal. Just the old library, dust and silence.

But now, he knew. Something had changed. Even the air could be heard humming softly, as if it spoke the language of some invisible being. Rajatan shoved the stone into his bag. Little did he know that this stone was not just a strange artifact, but a gateway between two worlds – one that he had always seen, and another that had always been around him, but invisible.
