Instead, he found himself regressing 7 years into the past, with a mysterious Prehistoric system activated by a pendant he had carried since birth.

A soft chime echoed in his ears as the two assassins left.


He exhaled underneath the mask. "Well… that ended quicker than I expected."


As the tension bled away, Lin Fang finally turned toward the girl who stood there wide-eyed with uneven breathing. 


Lin Fang stared back for a beat, then turned around and started walking away without talking.


Her voice rang out behind him. Lin Fang stopped mid-step, and his boots sank slightly into the wet soil. He turned his head, watching her jog up to him, gasping for breath.


When she finally stopped in front of him, he tilted his head slightly. "What is it?"


She opened her mouth, then hesitated, unsure of what to say. Lin Fang sighed quietly, reaching into his pouch. He pulled out a water bottle and held it out.


She waved her hands quickly. "N-no, it's fine…"


Lin Fang shrugged and tossed the bottle back into his pouch. "Suit yourself."
