Mika slowly placed Cecilia back onto the hospital bed, his mind reeling over Fauna's bizarre reaction.
Was she genuinely unbothered, or was she simply acting that way to cope?
The confusion was maddening.
But just as he was lost in thought, Cecilia's voice, small and apologetic, came from behind him.
"I-I'm so sorry, Mika." She choked out, voice tiny and guilty. "I was sure I locked the door—I swear I did! I never meant for Lady Fauna to see you...I mean us like this...I'm so sorry for that…"
Mika blinked, stunned.
She was apologizing.
After everything he had done, after he'd turned her first time into a three-hour marathon of debauchery—she was the one apologizing.
He expected her to blame him; he was the one who had escalated the situation and caused the public embarrassment.
Yet here she was, apologizing for a mistake she didn't even commit.
