Why haven't the boy been found yet, yelled the Elf king getting off his seat. He had bright green hair and his pupils were equally green he had a slinder face and little beard, he was slender no muscle mass whatsoever. Wrapped under his large green robe, holden crown, he looked like a large owl.
Be seated, and calm down, the Dawrf king cautioned him. He was short and bulky like most Dwarf, he had a large brown beard that reaches his belt, a rough face with a scar that cut horizontally across his face from ear to ear, he had dark beady eyes a pale lip. His belt completely covered by his hair and beard. He stroked his wine glass as he spoke. Calm down Elf, we are all having a hard time about this, you don't need to be so worked up.
You expect me to be calm, the Elf king continued. That calamity is roaming free and that stuff is chasing after him destroying everything as it goes, he yelled. It's been six years since the fall of the humans and when the human prince was being haunted. You can't expect me to believe no one here knows where he is, he said waiving at the other people seated there.
I agree with the Dwarf, the beast Queen said. She had silver hair, her ears sticking out her head, her golden pupils seemed to glow somewhat, she was a fair maiden, she sat lazily on her chair, slumping down to it's lowest.
No one asked you, the Elf king snapped. You aren't even helping and I'm sure you don't Intend to help, DOG.
We didn't come here to be insulted, the water dragon Queen said calmly, taking a sip from her tea.
And you wouldn't be if you guys are actually doing anything rather than slacking off and watching the world being torn apart, The Elf yelled. He turned to look at the extremely large seat that was left unoccupied. And that oaf of a giant hasn't come to our meeting once since the fall of the humans, he said angrily.
Well the Arthur was his good friend after all, I dare say he can't bring himself to be part of those haunting his son after his death, the water dragon Queen spoke. She had blue hair and equally blue eyes, she wasn't the tallest, her pale face covered by the steam of her tea, her blue almost transparent robe waved around her. She wore no leg wear.
Damn it all, the Elf king muttered. What about the hero? He asked the beast Queen.
How would I know, she replied turning in her chair looking for a comfortable position to nap.
She's supposed to be your responsibility, the Elf groaned. She's from uori race after all.
Why does that matter? The beast Queen replied. She's a free person, I determined that when I saw her. Leave her be, I don't want my people dragged into this boy haunting.
That sphere just destroyed one of your so called people's village, murdering everyone in it, and you're just gonna sit idly by? The Elf snapped.
What's your problem, Asil, she replied.
Who gave you permission to use my name, the Elf growled. The room started vibrating violently.
Pls don't stop, she called, this vibration you're making is like a light massage. Don't you agree dragon.
The Water dragon Queen scoffed. Not replying.
We the beast kin refuse to hunt or harm kids, it's my and our decision, except the kid himself is proven to be bad I and my people wouldn't get involved, she said calmly.
Speaking of which, I hear no one in among your kids inherited the champions power, is that true?the water dragon Queen asked Asil.
That's a family and Internal matter none of your business, Asil boomed.
My godddddd, are all Elf's like this, groaned the beast Queen, stop yelling would ya, I'm trying to nap.
You Infuriating Dog, Asil insulted.
If you think calling me a Dog is an insult, you'll have to work on your arsenal if bad words, the beast Queen yawned, I am half wolf after all.
If only I could contact the fire dragons, Asil muttered.
I'll warn you only once, if you try contacting the fire dragons without their consent you might as well be digging your own grave, the water dragon warned.
As if you know anything, scoffed Asil, you and they haven't spoken for centuries, don't act like a know it all.
I'm starting to take Veronica's side, yawned the Dwarf king, all this argument and talk is boring I might just fall asleep.
Whoa , I feel like this is the first time you've called me by my name, the beast Queen said. Can we just end this boring meeting already. I need to leave or Elf man here would haunt my dreams.
I agree, the Dwarf consented.
So do I, the water dragon said.
They all looked at the Elf, who sighed and had no choice but to close the meeting.
Veronica if you please, the dwarf said.
Do I have to? She moaned.
Yes it's only formal that way, he replied.
In the presence of Asil de Von the ,Elf king, Myra Heilo the ,water dragon Queen, Madna Grud the ,Dwarf king and Veronica Laise the dashing beast Queen, I hereby called this meeting to a close.
AREIA TO ME! Dan yelled, stretching his hand, she sheathed her sword, stepped on a rock and lunched herself grabbing hold of his arm, he pulled her up, it took a while for them both to catch their breath.
Who knew Werewolves were to persistent, Areia said looking down at the pack of wolves gathered around hoping by some miracle they fall.
After camping in the mountain top for almost a week, they decided to continue their adventure and quest to find Lizzy. During their travels they stumbled upon an almost deserted and disoriented village. The occupants were mix of races, dwarf, goblins, elves, dryads and some humans lived in the village. It was called Vanya but due to the constant plague and attack from monsters and Werewolves the villages population had been reduced to naught. Those who were able to leave left, leaving those who wouldn't flee or are not able to. The villagers had practically begged Dan and Areia for aid. After giving them the little food they have Dan and Areia set out to work at once but they gave the villagers a condition. A place to stay for a day or two if they return. It was quickly accepted and they set off, little did they know the wolves numbered in hundreds. They weren't that strong and refused to run away no matter what display of power Dan and Areia portrayed so they had to be out down, they managed to dwindle their numbers to a staggering amount but they couldn't keep fighting forever, they were being overwhelmed and it was practically night time, who knows what else might be lurking in the woods.
Last time I checked the village didn't have any gate of fence of some sort am I wrong Areia? Dan asked.
No you're not, I was. Wondering when you were gonna speak up about it, she replied, is it really safe to stay there even if it's for a day or two? We might as well be camping in the forest.
We're not staying there for our safety Areia, Dan laughed wiping sweat from his face, blood had ruined his clothes, he was almost certainly covered from head to toe in it. We're staying there to protect them, they'll get wiped out without any help, Dan said. But it'll only be for a day or two.
But what if when we're gone wouldn't they get attacked then? Areia asked.
Yh I reckon we plan on wiping out this snarling dogs right? He asked.
Right.
So we'll just stay for a few days to see if something else show up and if nothing comes well be on our way, also I think we'll build some sort of fence for them, Dan said tiredly.
Aren't you helping way too much? Areia asked straightening out her hair.
If there was more I could do I would, Dan sighed.
Areia grabbed some mould from the rock they were sitting on and tossed it at the wolves they snarled and growled but from that low they couldn't touch the person who threw it.
Let's finish up Areia, Dan said getting up.
Yeah, Areia said leaping off the boulder. She landed with a loud bang creating a cloud of dust and debris. Followed by the yelping of dying wolves. Dan landed softly as if he doesn't exist, the first wolf that lunged at him was instantly ripped apart by the wind. There lunged at once not Afraid that one of their own had just been killed like an housefly. Dan dodged the first one, and delivered a powerful arse kick on the head of the second, skull fragments and blood splashed everywhere. The third came around, Dan picked up a stone and threw it about the wolf it Instantly became a large boulder, the boulder was the last thing the wolf saw. The first one Dan had dodged charged again.
You want to bite me so much eh? Dan said grinning, well here's a piece of me he said putting his whole arm in the throat and mouth of the beast and fired a fire ball, the animal popped like a balloon, no scream or yelping just instant death. Dan. Pulled his arm out of the wolf's hanging head.
Do you need any help? He called to Areia.
Help? I was waiting for you, you seemed to be taking your sweet time dealing with only three, she laughed.
Unlike you I don't have a blade, he said sulking.
Well you could always blow them up with a single fire attack, she replied.
That'll be too destructive, I wouldn't want to burn trees for no reason, besides who knows how far it'll go, he said.
Whoa your killing methods are brutal aren't they, Areia said looking at the blown apart head of the wolf. I usually just decapitate mine.
Dan looked at her section of the battlefield, surely most of them had their head chopped clean off.
Show off, he scoffed.
Let's head back, he continued, I wonder if they have source of water there, Dan said.
I think I saw in the distance, Areia said.
Oh great, hopefully it's not contaminated, he groaned. And do I really have to carry buckets, I'm exhausted.
I could help you if you want, came Areia.
Nah I rather do it myself, he replied.
Do you think they survived? one of the villagers said
I doubt they would, another confirmed, they look so young after all.
But they're adventurers a human said
Yeah adventurer kids, a dwarf responded.
Did we just send those kids to their death? A Dryad asked in terror.
They're fine, a goblin said.
How do you know that, a dwarf challenged.
Ummm.... cause I can see them, he said pointing to Dan and Areia coming towards them.
They were soon swiftly gathered and bombarded with questions.
Are we safe?
Did you flee cause of their numbers?
Are they still out there?
You're covered in blood are you ok?....
It went on and on till Areia grabbed the overwhelmed Dan and jumped on top of a disoriented roof .
Dan sat legs crossed on the roof, the wolves are gone, he said calmly, I doubt they would disturb you or anyone ever again. Also do you have any sick of ill person amongst you? He asked. If you do pls bring them here I rather get this over with here than start walking around.
After a little while all the sucks were gathered in one place, some having freshly bitten arms and legs, some severely sick and covered in black spots. Some were gutted but still alive and in severe pain, no doubt wolves did those, he thought.
They're more than I expected, Dan said to Areia. And Areia are you also extremely sensitive to diseases or just poisons?
I think I'm fairly immune to diseases, she said in thought, just poisons and toxins I guess, she shrugged.
Are these all the sick and wounded? Can called.
They all affrimed.
Dan raised his hand. Veil, he said slowly. The sick that lay there were all covered under a transparent blue dome, the healing didn't take long. Although Dan hadn't reached the stage of regeneration, he managed to successfully closed all the opened wounds of those injured and the sick were purified. Dan lifted the vail and it became a small orb the size of a small marble, he burnt it with an intense flame instantly.
Now that that's out of the way, he said. I believe some of you are men here? He asked.
They all muttered in confused agreement.
Why didn't you guys build a gate or even a barricade of some sort? Dan asked...but looking at how thin the people were and how disheveled the town was, he realized it was a stupid question.Pls show us to your room and the well I'm mightily exhausted, Dan said softly.
After being shown the room they were supposed to sleep, Dan was surprised to find a rock hard and extremely dirty bed in them. But seeing as they had been camping on rocks caves and on floors even it was the highest luxury at the moment. Thanks for the bed , Dan said to the Dryad that brought them here.
No problem it's the least we could do, she said softly, if only we could do more, also call me Stacy, she bowed and left.
Hey wait, Dan called after her you haven't shown us the well.
After knowing the location of the well and a bathhouse that looked like it hadn't been washed for a hundred years, Dan and Areia proceeded to the well with buckets. It was night time so no one could see Inside the well but Dan knew from what they had seen of the village so far the well wouldn't be all that different.
I'm not risking it! he said suddenly, he waived his hand and the well was Instantly sealed.
Why did you do that? Areia asked where would these people get their water from and where will we get our water from, honestly I'd be lucky if I hadn't contacted lice, Areia said scratching her hair.
Don't worry about that I'll groom you later, he said looking around as if searching for something. Bingo! He yelled as he came to an open space.
Have you finally lost it? Areia asked.
Just hold on will you,he responded, he knelt felt the ground then with a deep breath blew up a large hole in the ground, causing a loud noise and spraying dust and debris everywhere. Areia covered her face.
You should warn me next time, she scoffed.
Sorry I wasn't concentrating, he replied. Finally clean water Dan said looking as water rushed out the hole.
The villagers gathered around clutching sticks and looking around cautiously.
Sorry guys for disturbing you, Dan said waiving at them don't mind me.
Is that clean water I see, one dwarf spoke up.
Uh...yeah, Dan responded after some thought.
Lads go get buckets, he boomed we have water! We have clean water! He yelled.
Soon the new water hole was soon crowded with villagers of all walks of life and age.
After getting their water Dan and Areia proceeded to the bathhouse it was some distance from where they were to stay but it wasn't far. Dan looked around dropped the bucket of water, sized up the bathhouse with this palm and clenched his hand, the house collapsed into a dirty wooden ball, Dan lunched it away as far as he could.
I'll make another bath house tomorrow, he said tiredly.
Then where are we supposed to cleanse ourselves? Areia asked, you just destroyed the bathhouse.
I'm too tired to think straight Areia, Dan moaned. Ok. Ok let's see, he picked up a stone threw it up and it instantly became a large boulder. The on opposite sides of the boulder he made huge holes a little deep but wide enough to fit at least six people sitting down. You'll take the left and I'll take the right, Dan pointed out yawning.
Now that I think about it aren't these buckets too small to cleanse the amount of dirt we accumulated during the fight? Areia asked.
You know as much as I want to argue with you about this, you're right, Dan said. He looked over the direction where he had created the waterhole made a sign with his hand and pointed the hole. It took a little while for Areia to see what he was doing, water from the distance was being transported by air and after filling both holes and heated the water they both go to their perspective sides the boulder blocking the other from view.
Dan and Areia sighed simultaneously as they both got Into the heated water. The hardened blood peeling of Dan's skin slowly, he took a dip washed his hair roughly and surfaced, he heard Areia do the same on her part.
Areia.
What is it, she replied.
Do you know my mum's race? He asked, I have a suspicion but it seems to far-fetched and impossible.
I do, do you want to know? She asked resting her back on the boulder.
Originally I didn't want to know cause it didn't matter, she's my mum anyways regardless of her real race, but I realized after traveling for so long, that if I have any chance of finding her I need to know her race, so yeah I want to know, he said calmly.
She's a dragon, Areia said looking at the moon from the reflection of the shaky steamy water.
Dan sighed, I thought so, but it's still surprising, he laughed, I'm the son of a dragon but I'm as weak as a human. That explains why I'm so good at using fire. Also how did you know she was a dragon? Dan asked resting his back on the boulder too.
We had files back in Amag about entities that could stop our operation and we avoided any direct confrontation with them at all cost, she answered. Your mum was the biggest threat and our greatest obstacle, she was number one on the list, Areia laughed. I think Flynn and your dad were among the fifth or so.
Was she that strong that she made your organization tremble while speaking of her? Dan asked.
Yeah it was rightly as you had described, we usually call off any mission concerning the kingdom if your mum was around. The King could be distracted with other things but your mum was a free agent and was far more powerful.
Dan laughed, I did notice she was strong at a time but I didn't know she was as strong as you described.
Yeah, the first time I met her after we got out of that dimension hole, I was practically frozen in fear though at the time I didn't wanna admit it to myself, Areia said smiling. Honestly I thought she would rip me apart then and there before you could even register what was going on but to my greatest surprise she was kind.
Areia this is just a hypothesis, but if she's s dragon, could it be that her disappearance had to do with the dragons ? Is she being held somewhere in the dragon realm? Does she know anything that has happened so far? Those are the thought currently running through my head.
It would make sense if you were correct, master, Areia said softly. But if she's with the dragons like you're suspecting how do we get there?
Somehow I feel like I know the answer but it always escapes me, Dan replied. That day she gave me the ring I feel like she gave me something else, Dan said holding his head in thought, but no matter how hard I try I can't remember what it was.
Same here, Areia responded. It's like nothing happened but I know something did.
Are you feeling alright master? Areia asked.
If you're asking about me exploding again, I don't know, but aside from being tired I feel great, he huffed.
That's good to hear.
After their bath, they were provided with bathrobes by Stacy, they weren't the cleanest but they were better than their current blood socked clothes. Stacy offered to help them with the laundry.
I call dibs on the left bed, Dan said throwing himself at it. It was a mistake, the room was suddenly covered in dust from the bed. Dan sighed in the dust. What was I expecting he muttered under his breath. A large gust of wind cleared the dust, Areia went to her bed and sat down she placed her sword on the side of the bed, she looked through the open window at the moon that seemed stationary then at Dan who was fast asleep.
I hope it stays this peaceful for a while, she said to herself. The Masters haven't come after me yet, I don't know what they're thinking, she said quietly. Should I just look for them down myself? She asked nothing in particular. I guess thinking about it wouldn't solve anything, I should just sleep, she said lying down.
In the morning Dan got up way earlier before Areia started staring, he didn't wake her, she needed the rest, she did take down most of the wolves after all.
Still in his bathrobe he proceeded outside, the town was quiet except a few people still around the watering hole, he was greeted cheerfully by people here and there, we approached the woods and with a quick swipe of his hand cut down a tree after cutting a few he sat down and levitating a hard rock he started trimming down the tree after getting lots of fine clumps, he stacked them together and turned around seeing bunch of kids watching him, they were about six of them, two being human, three were dwarfs and the last was a young dryad. He waved at them to come over. They did willingly.
Do you guys have any axe or something? Dan asked removing wood dust from his hair and robe.
I think my Dad does, one of the Dwarf spoke up.
Well great it would be a great help if you could help me borrow it, Dan said smiling.
We'll be right back the Dwarf called as he and his other two companions disappeared into the village.
Dan looked at the human kids, a boy and a girl, and the Dryad a girl with dark green hair.
How did you guys end up here? Dan asked the human kids.
It's our home we were born here, the boy said he didn't have the cheerful voice of a kid.
Oh I see, it has been a long time after all, Dan said in thought. What about you dryad aren't you guys supposed to be natures protectors or something? Dan asked.
We originally were, she responded and Dan soon realized that though she may be a kid to the other Dryads she was way older than the other kids possibly including him.
Most of the Dryads lost their connection to the trees some years ago, we don't know why, but it's like that forest is rejecting us, we were forced to toll the soil and live like every other creature to survive, I and my mother just happened to be here after traveling and searching for food for so long.
That's awfully uncommon, Dan said scratching his head, Dryads loosing their powers and connection with nature? What is going on. I expected you'd tell me that you just like to live like a human but this is a whole new ball game.
The Dwarves soon came dragging the large axe behind them, Dan didn't wait for them to bring it all they way, it suddenly vanished from their hands and appeared in it, the all process was so fast it made the kids lose balance and fall.
Dan looked at the Axe threw in on his right hand weighed it and threw it on his left. He felt the metal, then as he threw the axe back to his right hand another axe just like the original fell on his left.
Are you a magician? the human girl asked
No,I'm a terrible horrible monster that eat kids for breakfast, Dan joked.
The girl ran behind her brother at these words. Don't worry lily he's joking, the boy reassured his sister, I think.
The Axes began chopping the wood in their own and making precise thick wooden planks.
You know you could always wake me you know? Came Areia her disheveled hair scattered over her face and body, her robe almost too big for her covered her like thick fur.
You were sleeping so soundly I wouldn't even dare, Dan responded.
That's not fair now is it, Areia retorted sleepily.
Since you're so eager for work, why don't you go haunt, I reckon these people are hungry, Dan said feeling one of the shopped wood it wasn't long enough so Dan enlarged it.
My Dad and the other men in the village went to look for the wolves carcass, one of the Dwarf said, they said it's a shame to let the meat go to waste.
You don't say, Dan sighed enlarging all the chopped planks at once. I'm sure they know how dangerous the forest is so I'm sure they'll be fine, but the problem is are wolves meat edible. Areia do you know anything about that?
Beats me, she shrugged I've never tried it before and it's never even occurred to me.
Question master, Areia said squatting beside him, wouldn't it be better to make the fence out of stone rather than wood? Areia asked.
Originally that was the idea, but looking at these people do you think they'll be able to love a stone gate or something, yh I get the gate itself could always be made of wood but, just shuv it, Dan sighed I rather make the whole fence wood, so if anything happens while we're gone they could easily fall a part and escape.
When will our clothes be ready, Dan moaned, being in these bathrobes is becoming uncomfortable.
Areia could you take some of the planks over there, Dan said pointing at an open space not far off. We should just leave the meat for the men, I mean how bad can wolf meat be.
Areia hoisted two of the planks that could arguably be fifty feet in length and obviously heavy, the transportation wasn't long Dan helped out but he carried one at a time, soon they had lots of wood stacked up high, and most of the trees that were covering the village had been cut down leaving a little open space around the village. Dan sighed, raised his hand, visible beads of sweat popped on his forehead, the woods lifted into the air, covering the sky with planks casting a shadow over the village, Dan strengthed the planks and started shoving them in the ground in a straight line round the village without making any prior hole, the last plank landed with a thud leaving the only space left for the gate.
Dan took a deep breath to calm himself.
That was quite the work load wasn't it, Areia said patting him in the back.
How did you know that? He asked looking at her curiously.
It's literally written over your face, Areia laughed, besides your hair flickered black for a second there. You shouldn't do everything yourself you know.
If I don't whose gonna, it'll be was faster if I do besides it's not like using that much magic will kill me.
No it wouldn't but it's definitely gonna drain your physical and mental state, Areia said seriously.
Yeah yeah I get that you're worried, Dan said walking inside the village but it's directed at the wrong person, worry more about the people here for a change.
The men arrived a little later with a cart full of carefully cleaned meat no doubt from the wolves. They were stunned at the sight of the wooden wall suddenly around the village. They hurried to thank Dan who shrugged them off.
What do you dislike thanks and stuff so much? Areia asked him.
I'm embarrassed by them, he replied simply.
How typical, Areia said looking at the rising sun.
It was around noon when Stacy arrived with their clothes, she had apperantly patched holes she had found in Dan's gear, his shirt after all had been once torn and used as bandage for Areia, and his jacket was old and worn. Areia's on the other hand completely black with little silver armour here and there, shows more sign of life, it was practically made for these situations after all.
Dan looked up and looked around suddenly, Areia grabbed the hilt of her blade. Stacy go warn the villagers tell them to move to the far end of the village,he boomed, they should take the meat if they have to buy hurry, Stacy ran away without a word.
A man with a large war hammer that could arguably be as tall as Areia from her chest to her waist, came from the forest, others behind him, he held a ball in his Palm.
I choose you he said pointing at Dan, he immediately lost consciousness.
Areia caught him before he hit the ground, Master! Master she called, shaking his limp body. He's alive, she thought, but unconscious who knows if he's really unconscious, she thought.
The man with the hammer was on top of her before she could realize, the hammer slammed into her, she shielded Dan from the attack as the force sent her through trees.
Leave the boy, the man boomed. We're here to take the boy with us, but here to kill you. It like sticking two birds with a stone, he grinned.
Here to kill me, Areia thought are they bounty hunters?
Incase you're wondering we're not bounty Hunters we're from the hero's party and it's our duty to dispatch the both of you.
Areia quickly scanned the others, liar she's not here, Areia thought.
Oh, I'm sure you must be confused, but currently the hero is not with us, she said she had something to do, so we're her eby ourselves on her behalf.
The others stepped out from behind the man, a boy with long black hair and dark eyes, he was young, a girl behind, she wore a mask so Areia could tell her face, but from her stance and build she's definitely a female mage. A warrior with a sword and shield no doubt there to protect the mage, his blond hair sticking out his helmet.
She placed Dan near a tree made a symbol near him and moved a few paces away from him.
Nice choice, the man boomed, he wore an heavy armor, his bald head and beard sticks out from his rough face, he had blue eyes which is uncommon for a giant, no doubt a half giant, he was massive and swung the hammer in his hands effortlessly.
Now let's begin, Areia was instantly struck by a huge bolt of lightening, her hair started fading back to it's pure white state. She gnashed her teeth in pain, the man with the hammer caught Areia full in the face lunching her like a ball, she fell and took large portions of the forest with her.
She got up slowly but was immediately greeted by the blade of the dark haired boy, she dodged as the blade cut through the rock she landed on, she attacked him but was struck by another lightening, then a powerful blow from the hammer brought her to he knees. The half giant and the blade boy towered above her.
If I want to take them on I need to deal with that mage first, Areia thought. The hammer came crashing down on her head, she lept out of the way creating a large enough distance in the blink of an eye, the hammer shattered the ground beneath the giants feet, Areia dashed towards the mage, dodging the lightenings that kept coming occasionally. She caught something shiny from the corner of her eye, she docked instantly the blade missing her head by a few inches, Areia blow collided with his jaw with a loud bang, the boy collapsed in pain, Areia's hair stood on end as she dodged another lightening from above, it burnt the ground. The Hammer came beside her in an instant, she jumped over it placed her arm on the handle of the hammer and delivered a powerful kick to the side of the half giants head, the kick brought him to his knees, she made to strike again but was interrupted by another lightening strike, she dodged it and was immediately greeted by another blade from the dark haired boy, she sheathed her sword and parried the attack with her bare hand, she held the boy above her head as another lightening came, she instantly ditched the boy as the lightening passed through him and almost struck her.
She's a tricky one, the boy with the dark haired smiled, call me needle, boy said, and be sure to take it to your grave.
Needle NO! Boomed the half giant, you can't take her alone. Don't be stupid we go together.
They've already healed, Areia noticed, that mage needs to go.
Areia doged the hammer with a back flip, docked as the sword came past her head, moved with a zigzag movement and dodged three simultaneous lightenings attacks, a hole suddenly opened under her feet, she almost lost her balance but jumped backwards over it. She breathed deeply, blood running from her nose she wiped it with her sleeve, she took off her shirt, took a sprinting stance it was instant, she was on the mage before any of them could register all except the knight, Areia banged against his shield bringing the knight to his knees.
It's strong, Areia thought looking at the solid gold shield, the knight struck Areia grabbed his hand and made a massive dent in his helmet, he attacked the mage but the giants hammer blocked her path with a loud bang, needle came from behind swinging madly, Areia parried them easily, knocked him back with a thud on his chest, he spat blood. She was suddenly caught in the back by a large shock wave blast, it sent her feets under the earth.
The giant panted, I can believe we're having this much trouble just fighting one girl, now I can see why she had that large bounty on her head. He stood looking at Areia at the bottom of the hole, she was bleeding from partially everywhere. Areia stood up, tied her hair in a neat bun, this is gonna be difficult, she said.
Let me get this straight, she called, you guys are serious about killing me right?
DO WE LOOK LIKE WE'RE JOKING? The giant boomed angrily.
No I just wanted to confirm, that means I can kill you guys, she smiled softly.
She was out of the hole and standing on the giants hammer before he could see what happened, Areia stomped on his hand breaking his finger, he let go of the hammer howling in pain, needle struck, Areia caught both his blade and delivered a series of heavy kicks to his face, he fell silently. Areia picked up the giant hammer and delivered a powerful blow to the side of the gaints head. She hauled the massive metal at the mage, the night blocked it making a dent in his shield, he looked up by Areia was no where to be seen.
Sorry about this, Areia said breaking one of the mages arm effortlessly, the girl howled horribly.
How can you still be standing, Areia moaned as she dodged a series of attacks from needle, the knight hit her with his shield, she blocked it but the momentum carried her back. They were healing, Areia thought, should I have gone for the mages neck, but I don't want to kill them, they should just stay down. The faint lunged at her without his hammer Areia jumped over him and let his face hit the ground. Another shockwave caught Areia in the side, sending her a pretty long distance into the side of a cliff, boulders came crashing down on her.
The mage sent more shockwaves at where Areia landed, completely destroying the cliff. Dust rose high as debris shattered and fell.
Is she finally down, the mage panted.
They were answered by a mad laughter, they stood shocked. Deep purple eyes appeared from the crowd of dust, Areia's pure white hair emerged from the rubble. She had taken severe damage, her body covered in her own blood.
You guys are fun, you're so fun, she laughed. I just can't get enough.
Keep your guard up, the giant boomed, she's far from us roughly two hundred feet, aim at her head, needle and Vi don't hold back on your magic blast her to smitherins. Roger they both said.
Are you done strategizing, Areia called from afar, laughing so I can come at you right?
You're really pretty aren't you, came Areia's voice and laughter from behind them the mage in the air, her mask taken off, her blue hair in contrast with her golden eyes, I can clearly see why you wear a mask, Areia laughed who would let a pretty thing like you in the battle field.
They were all shocked and paralyzed by fear, did she just cover that distance and not only that she's got our mage, Areia flung the mage up in the air before she hit the ground no one knows how many exactly but Areia dozed her with punches on her face, the shock waves of the punched sent cold shivers to their spines, the knight swung madly overcoming his fear, Areia threw the mage at him with enough force to knock him back, he caught her limp body it was a mistake, Areia was on him face to face, she sat on him in a shoulder carry but from the front, she pummeled the helmet into his head with a barrages of punches.
You're next gaint boy, Areia laughed madly, I wonder how you'll do, she said getting off the knights body. She was held back by someone the knight held onto her leg as she tried to walk away. Oh no that wouldn't do, unless you want me to actually kill you, I suggest you let go of my foot, she said menancily but sweetly. No one knows if the knight obeyed or he collapsed, but Areia leg was freed from his grip to be greeted by the large hammer of the gaints, she caught the hammer with one hand, it created a large bang and destroyed the ground behind Areia sending the knight and the mage flying.
You should have waited for your turn patiently, needle struck Areia parried him, stepped on his foot and kicked him away, she dodged the gaints attacks effortlessly, hopped on his hammer as he swung and rammed his face with a powerful arse kick, his armour hit the ground with a thud, his hands went limp, he fell with a loud bang, Areia sat on top of him, holding the hammer. She looked like a kid compared to the sheer size of the thing.
Now's your turn pretty boy, she said yawning at the sight of the staggering boy. What did you say again? Something about carrying your name to my grave, Areia asked sweetly. Oh how you're gonna hurt, Areia said darkly. She stood up with the hammer on her shoulder walking towards him slowly.
Needle struck hoping the size and weight of the hammer would slow her down, he was unlucky, the hammer caught him full in the side, he should have fallen to ten right but the hammer against caught him on his right side, then from below and finally from above, slamming him into the ground and shattering the earth beneath them. Areia sighed. She placed the hammer upright letting the handle stay vertically, she sat on the hammer head her legs leaving the ground.
Now it's time to look for the orb that oaf of a giant was carrying. She hoped off the hammer and proceeded to his body, searching it Intently, humming a Christmas song. Ah ha, she called as she lifted the orb in the air, now how do I make this thing work she sang.
Did you kill them, came a calm voice behind Areia.
No I didn't, she responded without looking back still looking at the orb. They're your party members right? She said sweetly.
Yes, the fools I specifically told them not to take the job, but blinded by greed they took it behind my back, the voice said angrily.
Well sucks to be them I guess, Areia said dismissively. Just take them and leave, Areia said I'm busy.
They're no longer my party members, the voice said, when I found out they took the missions I made up my mind to.
If you leave them there they'll die, Areia sang.
I'll help the healer and she'll help the rest, the voice replied.
Good for them I guess, Areia said turning back facing the hero, do you know how this works she said holding out the orb to the hero.
She was the same height as Areia if not a little taller, her tail was wagging madly showing her angry state, her short brown hair reached her neck, her ears sticking out her head was stiff. She wore shorts reaching her knee and books that covered the entirety of her leg. Small mouth and equally small nose, her brown eyes staring straight at Areia unfriendliness in them. A large sword on her back almost the size of her.
I'll get straight to the point, are you the one who killed my sister, she said calmly.
Sister what are you... Areia was suddenly flung back so violently powerfully she didn't have time to react.
That hurt, Areia said, you have a strong punch, Areia smiled.
And you seem to have strong defenses, the next punch caught Areia full in the face, she hadn't seen the hero move it was sudden, the orb fell from Areia's hand, Areia struck the hero, she parried and delivered a nasty kick to Areia's midsection flinging her like a rag doll. She landed rolled and stood up coughing blood. The hero rained Areia with blows from all sides, Areia struck the hero she caught it and wanted to break Areia's arm, Areia gave her a serious kick to the side of her head, bringing the hero to a knee. She lifted Areia with one hand and like a rag doll used her to reshape the landscape, she flung Areia on the floor and stomped on her head.
Areia got up slowly on all fours mid stomps. She rolled from under the hero's foot, and attacked, the hero parried her attack and struck, Areia caught her arm and punched her in the face , sending the hero back. Areia smiled, you're strong really strong. The hero struck again Areia, Areia caught it with her left and punched the hero twice with her right. She's not taking damage, Areia thought. She lumped back retreating. The hero caught up with her and delivered a powerful kick, Areia blocked it, the impact made the ground beneath her feat cave in, her second kick sent Areia flying.
I didn't kill your sister, Areia said smiling. Who ever told you that.
Normally I don't believe them, but, why is my sister's scent all over you, she yelled. Her palm glowed red as she fired a large beam of fire at Areia. Areia lept out the way, the fire blew apart the forest within range. Areia looked around the once filled Forest had almost been reduced to barely few trees.
Areia landed immediately a spike shot from the earth it was centimeters away from her eye, before she dodged, she jumped, docked, flipped, ran as the earth shaped and morphed forming spikes and holes. A large boulder caught Areia full on the side sending her far away from the village, the hero was on her delivering punches.
Why did you kill her, she yelled, what did she ever do to you, she stopped suddenly.
Dan! No! Areia yelled pushing the hero off her and running towards him.
You're hurt Areia, he said darkly, pls move aside. We're quite a distance from the village, Dan continued. I can fight.
They'll find you, Areia yelled, your consciousness is still in the orb, your power is keeping you awake, don't attack the hero, she's just confused, she continued.
I don't give a damn, Dan said dryly, she'll have to feel equal pain if not greater than what she dealt to you.
My does my sister's scent smell stronger on you, the hero boomed, I'll rip you apart she charged at Dan.
Dannn! Noooo, Areia tried to hold him in place.
Areia sit, Dan commanded, her knees instantly gave way Instantly as she was forced to obey.
The hero's fist clashed with Dan's face the shock wave blew Areia away, Dan caught her instantly and healed her, he placed her down gently, let's take this fight somewhere else he said simply, he and the hero were instantly transported to an unknown location, it was rocky and filled with tall mountains.
Now come at me, hero I'll make you regret hurting Areia, Dan said calmly. What happened next could arguably be called a fight, she threw punch after punch that shook the foundation of the mountain they were standing on, but Dan caught all effortlessly, Dan's knee collided with her jaw, pain exploded on her head, momentarily blurring her vision, he didn't let up, he grabbed both her arms lifted both his foot and slammed it into her face, sending her flying like an arrow lunched from a cross bow, she crashed into the tip of a mountain taking a large chunk of it. She got up and was instantly welcomed with a fire ball the size of a large oak tree, it obliterated the surrounding and the mountain she crashed into. She got up with difficulty here clothes charred looking up at Dan who looked down at her.
Why don't you use that sword of yours? Dan asked softly.
That's none of your business killer, she boomed with rage.
Don't tell me you can't? That'll be a total let down, Dan continued.
Shut up! The hero screamed sending a white light towards Dan than knocked him into the ground, a large explosion occurred afterwards. She panted took a deep breath and fired more in rapid succession.
I get it now, Dan said darkly from the flames and huge red hot crater that formed from the hero's blast, your sword needs a condition to activate am I wrong? He asked grabbing her by the head and dragging her along the rough terrain.
She twisted her arm and formed a sigh, she blindly shot it at Dan she was lucky it caught him in the head making him release her, she caught up with Dan mid Air, grabbed him by his collar and headfirst driving him into the ground. Don't act like a big shot cause you can land a hit, she yelled.
What are you doing? Dan asked beside her, she looked at what she was holding it was a rock. Dan didn't give her time to act surprised, he landed a solid kick on her face, she recovered instantly punching Dan clean in the jaw. You're a strong one, Dan complemented her, but in sure you already know you're outclassed until your sword activates, Dan smiled.
Says who, she boomed, they both charged at each other, the it happened the massive sphere like Boulder suddenly appeared above them in an instant.
That's our cue, Dan said grabbing the hero and instantly disappearing.
Why did you do that and what was that the hero asked angrily she got up from the rough landing they did, they were in a beach.
Let's talk hero, Dan said holding out his hand.
Would you want to talk to the person who killed your family? She asked menancily.
No but at least I'll angrily hear them out before ripping them apart Dan laughed.
We can't talk here tho, Dan continued, as long as I'm like this that thing will keep chasing me, and I wouldn't want it near any water, it might corrupt it you know.
She took his hand and they instantly teleported, this time it was dark, extremely dark.
Are you planning on ambushing me in the dark? The hero asked.
Do I seem like I need to do that to best you, Dan laughed.
Enough start talking, there's a fist with your name on it, she boomed.
You're Heka's sister right? Dan asked tilting his head , the guild master of the gold cats.
Yeah what of it? She asked sitting down, her wagging tail suggest she's still angry.
Well that makes things easier, he said he handed over the dark golden card to her, after going through it, so that's why my sister's scent was on you, she said softly. I take it you didn't kill her then?
No, but it's hard to explain at the moment, Dan started.
Start talking, we've got time, she commanded.
Dan warily explained what had happened how they met, Heka, about ten boulder and practically everything leading up to that point.
I'm so sorry, the hero cried, I really am dumb after all, she cried softly, clenching the card. I'm sorry I attacked your friend, I was blinded by rage.
I understand Dan said softly, she almost killed your companions after all, he laughed.
They're a disobedient bunch, she said simply cleaning the tears from her eyes, I'm disbanding them.
Oh shoot then I shouldn't have healed them, Dan said.
No I wan planning on healing them, but they're no longer my party members, they're a disobedient bunch. She then proceeded to explain the series of incidents leading up to that conclusion.
That's some will, are you okay disbanding your friends like that? Dan asked.
I never really liked them, apart from the knight, they are all disobedient bunch, I'm sure he only came with them to protect the mage. I can tell good people just by a glance, she said sniffing her running nose.
I have a question, you can't see me right? Dan asked I mean this place has no ounce of light after all, but I feel like you're talking directly to me as if you know where I am. Also what's with your sword.
I don't need to see to know where you are, besides once my sword is activated I'm usually blind, also my sword only activated when I consider the target a monster and I mean it literally, it has to do with my mindset and as long as you're walking on two legs like me it's hard to picture you a monster, She said. It's a really down to earth condition.
Wow that's basic, Dan laughed I was expecting something more complex. I'm feeling dizzy, he continued. My consciousness is still sealed in the orb after all. I'm reaching my limit. I'll take us back to the village, hopefully with Areia help you'll be able to free me.
Sure why not, she said.
They were back in the village in an instant, as Dan landed on the ground he instantly collapsed and the power left him.
Areia walked slowly over, the orb In her fist.
I'm sorry for attacking you, the hero muttered embarrassed.
Areia didn't respond to her, she was looking at Dan.
I can help you wake him if you want, the hero suggested. Areia handed over the orb without a word, she crushed it without hesitation, Dan stirred. Areia walked away silently.
Is she going to be ok? The hero asked pointing at Areia.
Who? Oh Areia, Areia wait up, Dan said running towards her. What's wrong? He asked.
Why did you do that, she asked almost in a whisper.
Do what? He replied
Why did you command me to sit still while you fight and also in that state, she replied her voice wavering.
Did you see how badly hurt you were? You were literally covered in your own blood, Dan replied.
What else can I do aside from being in the battlefield, she cried.
You can do more...
Liar you won't admit it, but I'm practically useless except for fighting,She interrupted.
You're not, Dan defended.
Then mention them, what can I do despite fighting? I'm not nearly as smart as you, I don't possess magic, I don't have emotional intelligence, I can't take care of you if you're sick , tell me she yelled softly as tears rolled down her cheeks. You know at times like these I wish I was emotionless.
Just tell me what else can I offer
You don't have to be of service, Dan muttered.
I do, I do, she yelled softly. I don't know why I can't bring myself to yell at you even when it counts, she sobbed. It's only a matter of time before I become a liability towards you.
I wouldn't think that, Dan defended.
You definitely will, I'm sure if you were found by the sphere eventually you'll command me to sit still while you fight. it's not fair, it's so not fair, she said shakily.
How would you react if I die, Dan asked looking at his feet.
Do you really have to ask that. Areia said staring at him, I'll haunt down who ever brought you down and once I'm done I'll join you.
That's exactly how I feel, Dan said. I can't bring myself to let you in the front lines. I'm sure you understand my point, Dan said pating her head.
I just want you to trust me a bit more, Areia said softly.
I do, just when I saw you covered in blood being pummeled like that an uncontrollable amount of rage welled up in me. Now stop with all this emotional rollercoaster or I may bite my tongue from cringe. Areia laughed.
That was so touching the hero came by, Dan you sly dog.
Shut up you, Dan said embarrassed.
I have a name, I'm called Cyra, she announced proudly.
Sorry Dan responded shut up, Cyra. Areia starred at her coldly.
Cyra pulled Dan to the side, why is she looking at me like that? I'm not hostile anymore am I?
Nah that's how she is to strangers, Dan laughed.
We just shared a heart to heart in that dark place of yours, Crya said , and you still consider me a stranger.
Dark place? Came Areia.
It was nothing, Dan said nervously.
Yeah it was nothing, not only did he save me from the sphere on almost two occasions her explained everything up to this point to me perfectly, he's quite the smooth talker isn't he, the way he held out his hand that we should talk. It was comforting in a way.
Cyra, shut up, Dan said covering her mouth. She's a bit crazy, Areia. I knocked her a bit too hard in the head during our fight.
Ouch, did you just bite me, Dan said holding his hand.
Well you did just put your hand over my mouth, what did you expect. Also why were you covering me mouth, I don't understand, isn't she supposed to know all this? She asked.
Dan's signal for her to shut up somehow escaped her notice. I would have told her all right, he suddenly yelled before Cyra made it worse, but it's not the right time, she's not feeling ok at the moment right Areia?
I believe I'm perfectly fine, Areia said looking at herself, you did heal me well after all.
Dan was later forced to tell Areia everything during the course of the evening.
They all went to the village, the villagers still hurdled up on one part of the village.
It's ok now Dan called, and also meet the worlds current hero.
