The cold air drifted everywhere—not fast, but enough to sting the cheeks. A thick fog blanketed the surroundings. You might expect this kind of mist in the mountains during the morning, yet here, too, it lingered, wrapping the scene as two figures moved through it.

"Everything's there, right, bro? You didn't forget anything?"

Kevin was never much of a talker. He preferred living inside his own quiet world. In truth, no one cared much about him except Lucian. Still, Kevin felt a quiet comfort whenever Lucian was around. He didn't laugh at his jokes, and he rarely smiled, yet Lucian never grew angry. He simply understood what kind of person Kevin was. How the two of them became friends—only God knew.

The bus stand in this area was nothing more than a wooden board with Bus Stand scrawled across it—no roofing, no benches, nothing else. But somehow, in the sharp wind, it felt right. Standing there in the open, with the mountains around them, gave a sense of freedom.

They waited, shifting from side to side, rubbing their hands together unconsciously for warmth. In this region, buses arriving on time was more of a luxury than an expectation. In the mountains, anything could happen.

Kevin often thought that one day, everyone would have to leave this world anyway. So why waste energy worrying about small problems? People treated tiny setbacks as though the sky were falling, drowning in despair over them. To Kevin, that was simply life.

In his eyes, the universe itself nudged every being in a certain direction. It didn't control them completely, but it guided them along a path—just enough to make what we call "living" a little more interesting
