Mio's voice cut through the low hum of the lounge, making Kairo glance up from his phone.
He was sprawled against the edge of the Twilight Guild's pool table, one leg bent, the other foot resting on the floor.
The guild's lounge was quiet for once—dim lighting, a muted holo-screen in the corner, the soft rhythm of Zaira's breathing from where she and Mel were dozing on the couches.
Kairo slid his phone into his pocket with a sharp movement, pushing himself off the table.
"This better be important," he muttered, running a hand over his face.
'I still haven't rested properly and the media are blowing up my phone.'
"Oh, it definitely is."
Mio was already striding toward him, E-pad in hand, his tone carrying a mix of smugness and hesitation. He tapped the screen, and the display shifted to a profile—name, stats, image.
