Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4: I'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU.

Ariana never expected to get drunk.

Maybe it was because she hadn't let loose in so long, she just couldn't control herself.

Before she knew it, she'd had too much.

Lucas helped her, fishing the keys out of her pocket to unlock the door to her home.

As soon as they stepped inside, Ariana stumbled, almost falling, but Lucas caught her, pinning her gently against the wall.

She gazed at him, a smile playing on her lips and cupped his face with her hands.

"How did you get to be so handsome?"

But Lucas suddenly kissed her, hot and intense!

He kissed her like a man possessed.

Since yesterday, he realized he was addicted to this woman.

From the moment they were together yesterday until now, she was all he could think about.

Lucas scooped Ariana up and headed straight for the bedroom.

...

The night was wild and exhilarating!

When Ariana woke up, her head throbbed slightly and she could vaguely hear sounds coming from outside.

Carefully, she got out of bed, grabbing a fruit knife just in case.

The noise was coming from the kitchen, she cautiously approached and saw the young master of the Firestone dynasty cooking in her kitchen.

"Awake?" Lucas smiled brightly at her, his hands still busy whisking eggs.

"What are you doing here?" Ariana asked, puzzled, as she looked at Lucas, "breaking and entering? I could call the police!"

This man seemed to haunt her and it made Ariana quite frustrated.

Lucas, however, looked at her with a hint of helplessness, "did you blackout from drinking? yesterday afternoon, I helped you out in front of your ex, you said you'd treat me to dinner and then we ended up in bed, you forgot?"

Ariana blinked and with his reminder, the memories started coming back to her.

Lucas put down the bowl, pulled his collar aside and pointed to a fiery red mark, "last night, you even praised me for being so amazing."

Ariana felt embarrassed enough to want to dig a hole in the floor with her toes.

The events of last night slowly trickled back into her mind.

Lucas didn't seem to mind, "wash your hands, breakfast will be ready soon."

Ariana stepped out of the kitchen but couldn't resist glancing back, the way he cooked...

Lucas Firestone set breakfast on the table, offering millet porridge with dates, heart-shaped fried eggs and golden pancakes, it looked quite tempting.

"Make do with this, it's hard to cook without ingredients and the fridge is pretty empty, so this is all I could manage."

"I didn't know you could cook," Ariana said, sitting down and taking a bite of the pancake, it was crispy on the outside and tender inside, quite delicious.

"Piece of cake."

"Did you bite that heart-shaped egg into shape?"

The egg was perfectly heart-shaped, charming and inviting.

"You've given me an idea, next time, I'll try it, we could have an indirect kiss."

Ariana couldn't help but laugh.

Lucas suddenly paused, "do you have a habit of blacking out after drinking?"

Ariana sheepishly scratched her head, "Yeah, a bit."

"Is it possible you got drunk, saved me and completely forgot about it?"

Lucas clearly remembered that the woman had smelled of alcohol, he had been beaten up pretty badly and only saw a blurry figure.

Ariana burst into laughter, "Are you still stuck on that joke?"

"I'm serious."

That was the first time Lucas felt like he was on the brink of death, He thought he was done for.

For the past year, he had been searching for her.

Ariana shook her head while eating. "I really didn't save you, even though I black out when I drink, if someone reminds me, I can remember bits and pieces."

Lucas looked visibly disappointed, but in his mind, Ariana was the woman he had been looking for!

"Then where did you get your jade pendant?"

Ariana calmly sipped her porridge, "I'm really not the person you're looking for, last year on Valentine's Day, I caught my childhood sweetheart cheating on me, I was so devastated that I went out drinking with my best friend.

Then I drank too much, drove into a ditch, and nearly died.

My birthday is July 9th and that pendant was a birthday gift from my best friend."

Ariana explained sincerely, "I can give you her contact information."

She took out her phone and was about to send over the contact when she suddenly paused.

"What's wrong?" Lucas asked, noticing her slightly conflicted expression.

"I blocked her."

Ariana wore a bittersweet smile.

Rose used to be her best friend, she was the one who caught Simon and Claire in bed and immediately told Ariana, even stayed with her for drinks afterward.

But Ariana never expected Claire to be so cunning, having already won Rose over to her side.

Her once best friend had switched allegiances to Claire, even covering for Simon and Claire's affair.

Her parents, boyfriend and best friend—everything had been taken by Claire.

"But she's not in the country right now, she'll be back in a while. I can give you other information to help you find her."

Lucas, however, wasn't interested in that.

"The best way to forget a painful past is to start a new relationship, how about considering me?"

Ariana was truly exasperated by Lucas, "you've got the looks, the body and the skills, why are you so fixated on me?"

"Then I'm sticking with you," Ariana declared.

Lucas raised an eyebrow, his deep eyes filled with an irresistible allure.

Ariana believed no woman could resist his charm.

"Don't worry," Lucas said with a confident smile. "As a boyfriend, I'm a great deal, I'll eat with you, have fun with you, keep you happy and most importantly, in bed... you've seen it, satisfaction guaranteed, right?"

Ariana felt a wave of heat, this man was truly something else.

She hadn't expected the charming host from the Dynasty Club to be so good at flirting!

She was on the verge of falling for him.

"I'll think about it," she replied.

"Don't think, just give me a chance."

"Okay." Ariana thought she must be crazy to have said that so quickly.

For some reason, she craved a bit of excitement in her life.

Life is short, after all, you should enjoy it while you can, and this man, though a host at the club, had brought her a lot of joy.

With his good looks and ability to make her laugh, having him around would surely be a delight.

"But I have a few rules," she added.

"Sure, go ahead."

"If you're with me, I'll take care of you, but you can't be with any other wealthy women."

Lucas wanted to laugh but held it in, "of course, I'm very loyal."

Ariana wasn't buying any of that nonsense. A so-called "young master" from the Dynasty Club? Yeah, right!

"And there's one more important thing."
