Chapter 3 - Chapter 03: The Strongest

Mei Mei stood in front of the small boy slumped on the ground, her sharp eyes lingering on the faint waves of Cursed Energy still clinging to his body. Judging by the residual aura and his thoroughly drained condition, it was hard to believe — but that monstrous Cursed Spirit had been exorcised… by him.

Still, even Mei Mei couldn't jump to conclusions. It was rare, almost unheard of, for a child this young to defeat a Grade 1 Cursed Spirit — possibly even bordering on Special Grade. And the Cursed Energy explosion that had drawn her here had been no ordinary burst. It was enormous.

She squatted slightly, offering a calm, practiced smile. Children weren't her specialty, but she softened her tone as much as possible. "Don't be afraid. I'm a Jujutsu Sorcerer — I deal with monsters like the one you saw. You can think of me as the Cursed Spirit Police. Now… can you tell me what happened here?"

The boy didn't respond right away. Instead, he stared at her, silent and wary, and Mei Mei had to fight the urge to sigh. This wasn't going to be easy.

Then something shifted in the boy's gaze. A flicker of recognition.

Inside his mind, Shingen Genichi was rapidly piecing things together. That term — Jujutsu Sorcerer — it sparked something in his memory. And then, like a bolt of lightning, realization struck.

Jujutsu Kaisen

It all made sense now. The word "Sorcerer," the monstrous spirits, the Cursed Energy, and — her. That white hair, those calm eyes, the aura of competence — Mei Mei. He remembered her. A supporting character from the anime. Which meant…

He'd reincarnated into the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.

And what he'd called "Psychic Power" all this time — it was Cursed Energy. That meant his abilities weren't a fluke. He was born with talent. Exceptional talent, most likely.

He'd only watched half the anime back in his previous life, never got around to finishing it. But now he was in it.

His mind reeled with the implications. But when Mei Mei's expression started to twitch from the silence, Shingen finally responded, voice steady despite everything. "My name is Shingen Genichi. A big monster ate Sister Nanao… so I killed it."

Following the direction of his pointing hand, Mei Mei turned and quickly approached the collapsed figure of Nanao Ogawa. After a brief inspection, she nodded. "She's unconscious. Not badly injured — the Curse didn't sink deep. She'll recover with rest."

She walked back to Shingen and, without effort, lifted him into her arms. "Alright. I believe you. You took down the big one, and I've already cleared the smaller ones nearby. Let's get out of here first. Anyone else alive?"

Shingen told her about the two other children hiding in the cabinet. Mei Mei nodded, effortlessly balancing him in one arm and Nanao in the other as if they were weightless, striding through the shimmering veil of the Curtain that sealed off the area — a Jujutsu barrier used during missions.

Outside, she placed them gently into the backseat of a sleek black car, then turned and re-entered the Curtain. Minutes later, she emerged with the two children, a bit shaken but unharmed.

After everyone was safe, Mei Mei called Shingen aside. He had rested by then, looking far better than when she found him. Her eyes, bright with curiosity, fixed on his face. "Someone's coming to handle cleanup soon. While we wait, could you tell big sister the full story?"

Shingen hesitated only a moment. Now that he understood where he was — and who he might become — he had no intention of holding back. He carefully recounted the key events, skipping the stranger parts but keeping enough to be compelling.

This world, Tokyo Jujutsu High, Gojo Satoru… everything was real.

He didn't have a family, and he wasn't part of any Sorcerer Clan. But he was determined to carve a place for himself — to enroll in Tokyo Jujutsu High, train under Gojo Satoru, and getting stronger.

When he finished, Mei Mei looked at him with unreadable eyes. Then she reached out, tousling his hair gently. "There are snacks in the car. Police and medics will be here soon. You've done well."

Shingen quietly returned to the vehicle, where Kumiko was already nibbling at a snack bar. He sat beside her, occasionally stealing glances at Mei Mei, who was speaking on the phone just outside.

"…Gojo, you won't believe this," Mei Mei said, her voice laced with both amusement and interest. "Inside that cursed domain — yes, a semi-formed innate domain — there was a child. He exorcised the spirit on his own."

There was a pause, followed by a faint chuckle. "Mhm. Seems like he awakened a Technique too. Immense Cursed Energy — and he's already figured out basic application...by himself."

She leaned against the car. "Wrap things up over there and come quick. Kids it's not my thing, you know."

Not long after, the first sirens appeared on the horizon. Police and ambulances arrived in tandem. Nanao Ogawa and the two children were escorted away, while officers exchanged a few quiet words with Mei Mei before heading toward the no-longer-barriered orphanage.

Back inside the car, Shingen rested in silence. Mei Mei eventually joined him, and for a moment, neither spoke. A rare, quiet peace.

Then a figure entered his field of vision.

Tall. White hair sticking up like snow-covered flames. A long black coat. Face partially covered by bandages — yet unmistakably handsome.

Satoru Gojo — The Strongest Sorcerer in Modern time.

Shingen sat up slightly, heart racing as the man walked straight toward the car. Mei Mei opened the door and stepped out.

"Come on," she said, nodding for Shingen to join them.

Gojo approached with hands in his pockets, peering down at Shingen with a grin. "So you're Shingen Genichi, huh?" He crouched slightly, his voice light and amused. "Interesting. I can sense it — massive Cursed Energy. You've already figured out how to suppress it, too. Self-taught… that's impressive."

He tapped his chin. "Let me see your Technique."

Shingen blinked. "Technique? You mean my superpower?"

Gojo snapped his fingers, smiling. "Exactly! Channel that thing — whatever you've been using. Show me."

Then, without hesitation, he reached up and removed the bandages from his eyes.

And there they were.

The Six Eyes — a brilliant blue like crystalline fire, legendary even within the Jujutsu world. Eyes that saw not only Cursed Energy but everything beneath it.

Shingen inhaled slowly. Then he activated it — his Technique.

As energy surged through his body, the world around him began to slow. Time stretched like elastic. He moved carefully, glancing at Gojo, who was… watching him. Not just following, but keeping up.

For the first time, someone could track his movements in this state.

Mei Mei, meanwhile, was clearly a step behind. "Was that speed? Or did he disappear for a second? I didn't catch it," she said, brows furrowed.

Gojo's expression shifted to thoughtful intrigue. "No… it's not simple acceleration. I'm not sure yet. But it's… fascinating."

Mei Mei tilted her head. Anything that could interest Gojo Satoru was worth noting. Immense Cursed Energy, unknown Technique — this child might be another Special Grade in the making.

Gojo turned back with a bright, easy grin and knelt in front of Shingen. "Genichi, you've awakened your Technique. That means you're no longer an ordinary person. You, me, and big sister here — we're all the same."

He gestured with one hand, voice light and teasing. "We've got a school just for people like us. They'll teach you how to use that 'superpower' properly. There's fun stuff there too. You interested?"

Mei Mei rubbed her temple, clearly unimpressed. "Gojo, could you not sound like a shady recruiter? And you know Tokyo Jujutsu High doesn't take kids this young."

Gojo shrugged. "He's awakened. That means he's vulnerable. If Curse Users catch wind of him, this whole place could suffer."

Then he turned back to Shingen, expression softening. "You understand, right?"

Shingen hesitated for a moment before murmuring, "Then… what should I do?"

Gojo laughed heartily. "Don't worry! I'll handle it. Adoption paperwork? Easy. The Gojo family can raise one more kid."

As he rewrapped his eyes in bandages, Gojo said with a wink, "This place isn't safe for you anymore. I'll take you somewhere better."

Shingen nodded.

Suddenly, Gojo bent down and leaned in close with a mock-ominous smile. "Actually, we're bad guys — and we're here to kidnap you."

Shingen didn't even flinch. Instead, he gave Gojo a flat, unimpressed stare, bordering on contempt. Gojo burst into laughter.

Mei Mei just sighed. "Still a big child, huh?"

With a smooth motion, Gojo reached behind Shingen's neck and lifted him effortlessly.

"Alright, Mei-san — don't forget to send me your invoice," he said cheerfully, and without another word, the scenery around Shingen twisted, blurred—

—then disappeared entirely.
