Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Precaution in Advance, Disaster Strikes

After Mo Fan defeated Yu'ang, Mu Zhuoyun had completely lost face.

In fact, if Zhou Haoyu had really wanted Mo Fan to lose to Yu'ang, he only needed to lend Yu'ang a high-grade Armor Magic Equipment.

But that was totally unnecessary. This was a wager between Mu Zhuoyun and Mo Fan from the start if Zhou Haoyu interfered, it would be way too low.

Zhou Haoyu spent the morning cultivating in his room. In the afternoon, he went to Tianlan High School to first familiarize himself with the school's layout.

He didn't know the exact cause of Principal Zhu's death most likely, he died resisting demon attacks.

As soon as Zhou Haoyu arrived at Tianlan High School, Principal Zhu came out with several teachers to welcome him.

"Principal Zhu, just treat me as a regular student," Zhou Haoyu said with a hint of helplessness.

Principal Zhu only chuckled. If this guy was just a regular student, then what did the thousands of students in his school count as?

"This is the homeroom teacher of our senior-year honors class Mr. Xue."

Principal Zhu first introduced the middle-aged teacher beside him, then rubbed his hands together and smiled a bit awkwardly, "Young Master Zhou, about that Soul-grade Stardust Magic Tool you mentioned before?"

It was the final stretch before the magic high school entrance exams. With a Soul-grade Stardust Magic Tool, the school might just be able to produce another Level 3 Basic Tier Mage.

That alone would qualify them for the threshold of a top-tier magic institution.

"As promised, there are still seven days left before the exams. I'll lend you this Stardust Magic Tool for those seven days."

Zhou Haoyu retrieved the Stardust Magic Tool from his dimensional ring and handed it over to Principal Zhu.

Principal Zhu held the Soul-grade Stardust Magic Tool with both hands, visibly excited. He himself had come from a humble background and had never seen a Soul-grade tool like this before.

Mr. Xue Musheng, standing to the side, also glanced at it curiously. If he had possessed something like this in his youth, he wouldn't still be stuck as a Basic Tier Mage today.

No wonder Young Master Zhou had such high cultivation at such a young age. Talent was one thing, but resources were absolutely crucial.

"By the way, you only have seven days, so it's best to let just one student use it for maximum effect," Zhou Haoyu kindly reminded them.

"Indeed," Principal Zhu and the other teachers all nodded.

"Xu Zhaoting has the Lightning Element. If he reaches Basic Tier Level 3, he might stand a chance of getting into the Imperial Capital's Magic University," said a slightly chubby male teacher.

"Mu Bai reached Level 2 earlier than Xu Zhaoting. I think Mu Bai is the better choice," said Xue Musheng.

Zhou Haoyu had no interest in their argument. After all, neither Mu Bai nor Xu Zhaoting would get the chance to participate in the Magic High Entrance Exam.

Even if they reached Level 3 of the Basic Tier, it would only slightly increase their chances of survival nothing more.

After chatting a little longer, Zhou Haoyu strolled around the area near the school.

Besides the school grounds, Zhou Haoyu specifically went to inspect the hill behind Tianlan High.

The back hill was right up against the school, and the terrain was elevated. With a decent jump, one could practically leap over the school's outer walls.

This posed a serious security risk.

Soon after, Zhou Haoyu found Principal Zhu in his office and informed him about his idea to reinforce the perimeter wall.

"Young Master Zhou, why build a wall here when everything's fine?" Principal Zhu couldn't quite understand Zhou Haoyu's reasoning.

"This place is outside the Safe Zone. If demons appear on the back hill, they could leap straight over the wall into the school," Zhou Haoyu explained.

Principal Zhu furrowed his brows and thought it over seriously. He realized that what Zhou Haoyu said wasn't impossible.

"Young Master Zhou, Bo City's outer defense is guarded by Zhan Kong and his military mages. Demons can't get through," Principal Zhu said with great confidence in Zhan Kong.

Ever since Zhan Kong had come to Bo City, incidents involving demons within the city had decreased, and even sightings in the wild had dropped significantly.

"Whether the demons come or not, we still need basic protection measures. And it's not hard—just a simple Earth Element spell," Zhou Haoyu said earnestly.

Strictly speaking, Zhou Haoyu only needed to protect Principal Zhu and He Yu.

But if he wanted to save Principal Zhu, he first had to make sure the students of Tianlan High School were safe. Otherwise, Principal Zhu most likely wouldn't enter the Safe Zone.

Principal Zhu thought it over carefully. For the students' safety, being cautious wasn't a bad thing.

"I'll go and reinforce the wall tonight," Principal Zhu nodded and said.

"You're an Earth Element Mage?" Zhou Haoyu asked with some surprise.

"Mm, I haven't fought demons in a long time, but building a wall is no problem," Principal Zhu replied with a smile.

Zhou Haoyu felt even more admiration in his heart. Principal Zhu could easily become a construction engineer anywhere and be much better off than staying here, yet he chose to remain.

Zhou Haoyu silently made up his mind. Although he couldn't save everyone, he would at least do his best to protect these students.

Over the next few days, aside from cultivation, Zhou Haoyu continued inspecting the sewer system of Bo City.

During this time, Zhou Haoyu eliminated three Giant-Eyed Sewer Rats, and eventually discovered a tunnel leading to outside the city.

Zhou Haoyu first used stones and clay to seal the tunnel completely, then used Spiritual Energy to interweave several steel bars into it, fully reinforcing it.

After completing this, Zhou Haoyu rushed back into the city.

Suddenly, a fiery red flare exploded in the sky. The dazzling red light was visible across the entire city.

Blood Alert!

"It's actually happening now…"

Zhou Haoyu immediately commanded the Flame Scorpion Tiger to change direction and charged straight toward Tianlan High School. Ensuring Principal Zhu and He Yu's safety was the top priority now.

Tianlan High School

"It's really a Blood Alert."

Outside the principal's office, Principal Zhu stared at the glaring red signal in the sky. In an instant, it was as if all strength had been drained from his body, and he collapsed to the ground.

Under a Blood Alert, there was virtually no chance of survival outside the Safe Zone.

This was an unprecedented catastrophe!

Not long after, Xue Musheng and several teachers rushed over to Principal Zhu.

"Principal, something terrible has happened. There are many One-Eyed Magic Wolves in the back hill. If you hadn't reinforced the wall a few days ago, they might have already broken in!"

Xue Musheng's face was filled with panic, his voice trembling as he spoke.

Upon hearing this, Principal Zhu felt an immense sense of relief.

However, he was well aware that the hastily constructed wall wouldn't last long.

If those One-Eyed Magic Wolves managed to break through, Tianlan High School would be soaked in blood.

"Gather all the students on the sports field first. Leave the One-Eyed Magic Wolves in the back hill to me," Principal Zhu said with a heavy and resolute tone.

Xue Musheng and the other teachers didn't say anything more. They were only Basic Tier Mages and couldn't be of much help. Now, they could only place their trust in Principal Zhu.

"By the way, is Young Master Zhou still on campus?" Principal Zhu suddenly asked.

"No, he didn't come to school today. Maybe he already went back," Xue Musheng said, his mouth twitching bitterly.

Principal Zhu was silent for a moment before softly saying, "It's better that way."
