"Ariz… come and pick me up."
The reply came almost at once.
I'm on my way.
When Ariz arrived, he leaned out of the car window with a grin. "Bring your books with you. I'll tutor you for a while before I take you back home."
Darren sighed but picked up his textbooks anyway and slid into the car.
Instead of heading straight to study, Ariz drove them to a small restaurant first. "You look like you need food before you can focus," he said.
They ordered a meal, and Darren found himself relaxing as they ate. Ariz kept cracking small jokes, stealing fries from Darren's plate, and making light conversation about school. Darren rolled his eyes a few times but couldn't stop the faint smile tugging at his lips.
