Thaddeus picked up a tissue and gently cleaned both himself and Kayden. His tone softened as he spoke.
"All I need you to do, Kayden, is focus on your studies. As for what we discussed tonight, I'll handle it, alright?"
Kayden nodded quietly, his eyes lingering on Thaddeus with trust. They wrapped their arms around each other, holding on as if neither wanted to let go.
At last, Kayden shifted, standing from Thaddeus's lap and pulling his clothes back on. The night had grown late, and Thaddeus looked at him with calm resolve.
"It's time to go home," he said gently. "Go inside now. I'll come back this weekend to pick you up. Since your exams finish this week, I'll come for you right after."
Kayden's lips curved into a small smile as he nodded again. He leaned in, pressing one last kiss to Thaddeus's lips before stepping out of the car.
Thaddeus watched him walk toward the house, only driving away once Kayden had safely gone inside.
