Chapter 716 - You Reap What You Sow

"Dao Qing, hurry up and hand her over! If you insist on shielding her today, don't blame me when we fall out!"

Mu Zixu's furious roar dragged Dao Qing into the storm.

Dao Qing stayed silent, refusing to say another word.

The louder Mu Zixu jumped now, the more humiliating it would be for him later. The angrier he got, the more outrageous his demands became, the harder the backlash would hit. Dao Qing's silence only made everyone assume the matter was already settled.

Song Wanníng killed Feng San, so she could only pay with her life.

"What a waste, ruining yourself over such a petty conflict..."

"Yeah..."

The disciples sighed, convinced the case was closed and all that remained was to restrain Song Wanníng and deal with her.

Feng Jiuxiao stood in the crowd without speaking.

Mu Zixu really was exhausting.

While everyone was arguing, space suddenly rippled. A figure tore through the void and stepped out through the air.

The next instant, Song Wanníng appeared in front of everyone.

"Song Wanníng is back!"

"She actually dared to return?"

"Was she dragged back by Mo Yang Xiānzūn?"

They glanced around at each other, stunned.

Song Wanníng was clearly brought back by Mo Yang Xiānzūn. Why didn't he help her escape?

A ripple of confusion spread through the disciples. They couldn't figure out what Mo Yang Xiānzūn was thinking.

The moment Song Wanníng appeared, Mu Zixu's gaze blazed with fury. Without a single word, he struck toward her. He poured everything into that strike, fully intending to kill her on the spot.

But Mo Yang Xiānzūn stepped in front of her and blocked him with a light push, forcing his attack back.

Mu Zixu was sent flying by the rebound. His chest tightened painfully and blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.

Silence slammed over the crowd. Everyone was stunned by Mo Yang Xiānzūn's intervention.

Only Dao Qing understood exactly why, and he sneered inwardly.

"Mu Zixu really brought this on himself. He'd managed to offend Mo Yang Xiānzūn completely. Serves him right."

"Mo Yang Xiānzūn, what do you think you're doing?"

Mu Zixu clutched his chest and spat another mouthful of blood. He couldn't believe Mo Yang Xiānzūn dared injure him publicly. Just to protect Song Wanníng? Did he throw principle out the window?

"Song Wanníng killed Feng San, are you going to shelter her openly? Is this how you trample on us as an immortal superior?"

His eyes turned red, looking like he'd been horribly wronged.

The sect master finally snapped out of shock and said to Mo Yang Xiānzūn, "Xiānzūn, let Song Wanníng explain first, then we'll handle the matter."

"Junior Brother Mu, calm down. There might be some misunderstanding here."

He looked at Song Wanníng with seriousness. "Song Wanníng, did you kill Feng San?"

She descended slowly and nodded.

"I did."

The four words stunned everyone.

Song Wanníng actually admitted it.

The sect master froze for a moment, not expecting her to be so direct.

Before she could continue, Mu Zixu exploded.

"Great, you finally admit it!" His finger shook violently as he pointed at her.

"Song Wanníng, you dare kill my disciple, I'll fight you today! Mo Yang Xiānzūn, if you keep protecting her, even if I die, I'll demand justice for my disciple!"

He deliberately raised his voice so everyone would hear.

Then he tried to strike at her again.

But the next second, a Memory Stone appeared above them.

It was the recording Song Wanníng made when Feng San blocked her path. She'd understood the value of Memory Stones since the lower realm, so she always kept one. She'd deliberately provoked Feng San into speaking.

Now, the images became her strongest evidence.

The conversation between Feng San and Song Wanníng echoed clearly into every disciple's ears.

Including Mu Zixu's.

His bloodshot eyes locked onto the recording, blazing with rage.

"That bitch Song Wanníng actually recorded everything. She'd planned this."

His fury surged, killing intent spiking. Back then, he hadn't investigated and he did have the intention to teach her a lesson. Feng San was a gifted disciple and he'd only wanted to scare him a little.

Who knew the idiot would get himself killed instead. So he had no choice but to maximize Feng San's death, eliminate Song Wanníng, and turn a loss into advantage. But that fool had said those words, and now it was recorded. His whole plan collapsed.

Damn it.

He clenched his fists, trembling with rage.

The recording soon finished.

Song Wanníng stood calmly in the center and said to the sect master, "I'm sure sect master saw everything. I didn't try to kill Feng San, Feng San tried to kill me. I acted purely in self defense. If I hadn't fought with everything I had, I'd be dead.

As for the accusation of drugging him, I ask sect master to investigate clearly. I was in seclusion on Alchemy Peak during that time. All the disciples there, including Senior Dao Qing, can testify."

Her words sent another wave of shock through the crowd.

They finally snapped out of their stupor, stunned.

So Feng San tried to kill Song Wanníng...

The sect master sighed inwardly.

They weren't idiots, they could clearly see Song Wanníng provoking him on purpose. But the truth was the truth. Feng San's words and actions were undeniably his own, and he should pay the price.

No one else was to blame.

He nodded. "This matter is indeed Feng San's fault. Song Wanníng acted only to defend herself. There's no blame to place on her. Junior Brother Mu, you saw it too. Your disciple was cruel enough."

The sect master's tone sharpened. He'd just decided to cultivate Song Wanníng well, and immediately afterward Feng San tried to kill her. It was obviously aimed to sabotage him.

"We're all fellow disciples. Over some unclear misunderstanding, you resort to killing. Do none of you know tolerance? In the end, you reap what you sow. Stop making trouble."

If Mu Zixu had succeeded, the sect would've lost an outstanding talent.

Mu Zixu's face flushed red from anger. "Why aren't you saying Song Wanníng harmed Feng San first? If she didn't drug him, he wouldn't have sought revenge! And Alchemy Peak will definitely protect her. Their testimony is useless!"
