They trudged on, their feet sinking into the snow with each step. It was slow going as they knew they had to be careful. The wind howled around them, making it hard to hear anything else not to mention, the vision was already limited by mist.
Suddenly, Ling'er stopped in her tracks. "There's something up ahead," she uttered under her breath, her eyes narrowed against the snow.
"Where?" Bai Huan asked instantly, peering into the mist but he could barely see a few meters in front of him.
Ning'er raised a finger to her lips. "Shh," she warned.
"I think I hear something too."
They all fell silent, straining to hear over the wind. After a moment, Bai Huan could just make out a faint noise in the distance... It sounded like someone was calling out for help.
"Do you think it's another cultivator?" he asked with a confused look.
Ling'er somewhat nodded lightly. "It could be but we should be careful."
