Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Cultivation Dilemmas

Although my current state is better compared to yesterday's, I gulped down at this book's complexity.

"This golden orb writes in small font. This thousand-page book's equivalent should be…"

At least ten thousand pages in terms of real-life books. That's at least seven Strength of Material books!

One alone is enough to traumatize me for my entire college life. What about seven of them?

I shook these thoughts.

It's not important.

I screwed myself by creating a complex cultivation technique outdoors. I am too eager, I admit. I can't even beat up ordinary goons yet. I can only run away, or in my current situation, let Kiana beat them up.

It is my third day in this world. Knowing its true nature, I wanted more power to change things. What would a weak twelve-year-old do in the face of honkai beasts and Herrschers?

Hence, my eagerness to complete my plans. I have eight techniques piled up in the queue.

"Ha…"

Alright.

I shouldn't stain the coat with blood. I will go and lean over. Then, try to perform the [Toushen Manual]. If I can't, I hope this cultivation technique can help.

It's more than enough to resolve me being knocked out.

Alright.

Alright.

Alright.

"I can do this."

"Huff…"

When Kiana came back, she saw Shi Tian on the verge of losing consciousness. Her heart sank. It was the second time this happened. It made her wonder whether he had some sort of chronic illness.

"Hey!"

"..very…"

She was surprised to hear these familiar words coming out of his mouth. Blood dripped out from its corner, but he did not care. What followed after the [Two-Phase Art] were a series of unfamiliar words.

Shi Tian tried to lean his head straight, only to fail.

It was then did Kiana place her left hand behind his head. She dropped the plastic bag on the small table. Her right hand was placed on his forehead.

"He's burning…"

Just then, a series of changes occurred.

First was the familiar transparent blue air. It began to circle around Shi Tian. Kiana was distracted by it. The moment she breathed some of it, a noticeable refreshing feeling came to her entire body.

"Huh?"

Kiana was puzzled.

'Is he practicing now? When he's sick?'

She did not know what to do. Her left arm slowly moved, causing his head to fall behind. Noticeably, the blue air around them nearly disappeared.

"Oh!"

Once she returned his head to its straight position, the blue air continued to appear. Akin to a vacuum, it was attracted to Shi Tian himself.

Some of them passed by Kiana, to which she felt that refreshing feeling again.

After ten minutes, it gradually weakened. There wasn't any more blood that came out of Shi Tian's mouth. He was able to retain his position by himself. His palms faced upward; the same as the top of his head.

A visible jolt later, his eyes widened as he returned back to reality. His breaths formed a white fog. He saw Kiana holding his head. Her face was near his. She sighed out of relief after seeing his well-being.

"Sorry for making you worry."

He could not face her eyes for long. He focused his eyes on the table, intentionally looking down.

Upon seeing this, all the words Kiana wanted to say were swallowed back. She does not know how to react to it.

She's only fourteen. Although her maturity was okay, she ultimately isolated herself from others. It was evident inside the game. All of her years wandering around yet she made zero friends. Only when she arrived at Chiba Academy did she slowly befriend Mei.

Shi Tian saw it all and felt even more guilty. He was twenty-one when he graduated. He should have been more mature at this time.

This silence carried on until he broke it.

"You should have felt it. Those transparent blue air… that's spiritual qi. Breathing on it alone is beneficial to the body. That's also the missing part of the technique I taught you."

"You mean, I can run faster with that?"

"Yeah. You can kick that basketball ring down with one try. If you run around before kicking, it won't just be the iron pillar you'll destroy. The impact should create a few craters on the ground."

Shi Tian explained the benefits of cultivation (in simple terms). It was an exaggerated practice that granted humans monstrous strength and power.

Qi-Refining Stage? It can blow up buildings.

Foundation Establishment? Cities.

Purple Mansion? Continents.

At least, that's how it was described in the [Xiutian Yin-Yang Jue Art] (lit. Unparalleled Heavenly Immortal Yin-Yang Art).

As for shattering planets and the likes, it belongs to the realm of Golden Core.

Shi Tian knew all the realms under the Great Dao. Their specific capabilities were subtly hinted at in the cultivation technique he brought out.

His hopes were placed on cultivation.

At least…

'Helping her along the way is possible.'

It was a death wish to come with Kiana. Most, if not all major events, were centered around her. Lacking strength while being with her is tantamount to seeking death.

"Sorry again…"

She fell silent.

It was similar to catching a younger sibling doing something bad. It felt strange to her.

His company made her experience new things—things she ignored in the past.

'He is like a younger brother…'

Cultivation checklist: one out of eight.

"Fu…"

I am sitting on the sofa. I left the entire bed to Kiana.

Taking it is extremely embarrassing. I am already relying on her for food and accomodation. Heck, even clothes. I can't ask her for more.

"Only the top of the head and my palms… They need to consistently face upwards."

The [Xiutian Jue] (shortened name) I practiced is very complex. It is the equivalent of Linear Systems in Algebra. You know, Mclaurin Series, Taylor Series, Gaussian-Jordan method…

It's way beyond the likes of high school math.

Thankfully, I fully remembered it in my head. It will only take a few times practicing in real life. I didn't have to worry about guiding spiritual qi in more than 1,500 unfamiliar meridians.

It basically consists of spiritual qi guidance, reciting opening formulae, maintaining a strict posture, and a set of eighty-one different breathing patterns.

Overall, an entire session lasts for an hour. I can sit however I want, which is a plus.

The only thing bothering me was the insane difficulty of my techniques.

It's as if…

"It's meant to be the Daluo equivalent."

The Primordial Era.

In webnovels, it meant overpowered but difficult to practice techniques.

The ones I have gave off that feeling. There's a need to simplify them when it comes to teaching others.

"It's time consuming. How am I supposed to practice like this for six years..?"

This is based on my feelings.

I am currently on the first realm, Qi Refining. To complete that entire stage, I might have to spend a year or two. For the Foundation Establishment, three years. The ones beyond that, I don't know.

Simply put, I can't achieve the level I want within these six years.

That's why I am stuck thinking:

How can I speed up my progress?

I have three techniques to practice, one for Body, Mind, and Qi each. Then there's the sword technique and the spells. Finally, the alchemy and talisman side jobs.

Speeding it up…

"Oh!"

I patted my thigh.

"Auxiliary technique!"

If I can create any technique I want, it won't be much to create one that lets me practice three techniques at the same time…

No?
