Vivica cringed internally when Keat put his arm around her. She knew that she was messing up now. She kept a smile on her face and tried to look like she was having fun. Truth be told she hated this. She just wanted to get to the island and hide away.
She was looking forward to the hot springs in Jokertown. The part of campus that houses the lowest ranking students. In previous years all those students tried to make friends above them and moved out as soon as they could. From looking around she saw three of them mingling with the lower level cards. They wouldn't even set foot in Jokertown at this rate. She was sure the last one was off somewhere trying to move up as well.
Keat harshly held onto Vivica's bruised arm, making her wince a little but she hid it with a laugh. It sounded too forced to her ears, but it seemed to sound just fine to Keat who let go of her arm. Vivica sighed internally. She hated every time Keat touched her. She hated everything about him but she couldn't escape him. His family had paid good money and she was promised to him. Technically they were engaged now, but they wouldn't get married until after Keat finished his education. Vivica thought that she could enjoy her few years of freedom but Keat and her family had other plans.
"Hey!" came a new voice. Vivica looked up to see who was trying to suck up to the group now.
"I'm Jack! First year King!" Vivica sneered. He was annoying, she thought she saw him walk past already. He must have just been scoping them out trying to find his chance to enter the conversation. But something seemed different about him now. Wasn't he wearing headphones earlier? Where did they go?
Keat laughed, "Hey kid, I'm Keat King of the second years." Of course Keat would find him entertaining.
Keat high fived him "Don't worry kid, We'll take care of you." Jack's pale face beamed. Violate rolled her eyes. She pulled out a pack of gum and popped one in her mouth. Keat reached over and took the pack from her. He grabbed one and handed out more to everyone else. He laughed and returned the empty pack to her.
Vivica smiled and grabbed it. Damn that was her last pack. She should have known this would have happened. "I'm going to go get some water" she mumbled and snuck away.
"Yeah sure sounds good babe" Keat said, already absorbed in conversation with the others again.
Vivica sighed with relief as soon as she got away from them. She made sure to keep up the act though, she couldn't afford to look weak.
The shield on the ship went up revealing everyone's true forms. Vivica's tails furrowed out, her ears elongated to fox ears and her hair became bright red. She pulled at the sleeve of her uniform to hide the bruises from the night before. She walked around the ship enjoying her limited freedom.
Two more miserable hours on this ship. Then just the entrance ceremony, then she could enjoy the hot springs. That was the only thing keeping her going. The empty houses of Jokertown and the hot springs. She would intimidate one of the Jokers later for their key and silence, but for now she needed to get back to the group. She headed towards the concession stand to get that water she said she would get.
At the concession stand she ran into a rainbow haired girl. She was struggling with the coins in her hand. "Uhm w what value is this?" she asked, holding up a penny. Her armband showed that she was the first year queen. Vivica frowned, poor girl she seems so naive. She will get chewed up and spat out at this school. Vivica pushed past her. Give me a water bottle and two packs of gum and put whatever she is getting on my card. She said handing over her student id.
The girl looked at her confused. "I I'm sorry, but I was here first. What is going on?" She asked. Vivica looked at her and couldn't help but to smile a little. She didn't understand why.
"I'm just trying to be nice." she said. "You know you can use your student card to buy stuff right?" she said.
The girl looked surprised. "oh, no I did not know." she said. "Is that where my scholarship money is?" she asked, looking at her card hanging from a lanyard around her neck.
Vivica grabbed her things and nodded. "Yeah, that way you don't need to remember what coin is what." she said. Starting to walk away.
"Wait!" The girl said, "m my name is Catharine!" she said "What is your name?" Vivica smiled and turned "I'm Vivica, I'll see you at the opening ceremony." she said and left.
She couldn't help but to smile a little at the girl, then she felt bad for her. This would be a rough awakening for her. Especially since she is a court student. She sighed and went back to her miserable life.
As Vivica approached the group of "friends" again they were laughing and at the center was the first year king. Whereas before he looked strong and fit. He now had chubby cheeks, his shirt looked like if he were to take a deep breath the buttons would burst. He looked extremely pale and now there were freckles scattered all over his face. Like someone had blown cocoa powder all over his face.
"Whose the dork?" she asked as she got closer to the group. Jack glared
"Come one, what kind of prank is this?" He said "This is not my true form!" he cried.
Vivica rolled her eyes and the rest of the group kept poking fun at him. She played a game on her phone hoping to pass the time faster but she kept glancing at the time. An hour and a half to go; an hour and fifteen; an hour. Suddenly she felt Keat grab her arm and squeeze hard.
She looked up surprised, "Isn't that right babe?" he spat at her. She had obviously missed something.
"Uhh y yeah" she said, "sure what ever you say" she said shrinking into herself.
Keat laughed "See Jack; that all you need to do and your queen will bow down to you." he said then forced a kiss on Vivica. Vivica knew better than to fight. It took everything not to gag when he forced his slimy fat tongue into her mouth. He pulled away and laughed as he shoved her away. "Go get me some food." he ordered. Vivica looked down and nodded. She turned and felt a slap on her butt as she left then heard everyone laugh. Once she was safely away she ran to the side of the ship and threw up over the side. She wiped her mouth and went and ordered food for the group. She glanced at her phone. Half an hour to go. She passed a supply closet and heard laughing. She recognized the voice, the invisible queen. She moved on. She couldn't afford to question. She just wanted this day done and over with.
