Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Underground Fighting Arena

Suddenly, the crowd cheered, and Levisimmediately looked at the large iron cage.

A petite figure suddenly appeared in the fighting arena.

Levis's gaze sharpened; he had just arrived, and unexpectedly, before he could find her, he saw Colleen enter the ring.

As for why Colleen was participating in such private fights, Levis felt he definitely needed to ask her thoroughly later.

Inside the large iron cage, after Colleen entered, the Referee questioned her name while stirring up the audience's emotions with his words.

After Colleen stated the name she had just thought of, the onlookers' derisive shouts clearly grew louder.

Evidently, no one thought a young girl was qualified to participate in such a fight.

Levis merely glanced at these people, then calmly watched the large iron cage.

He had some understanding of Colleen's strength; while not necessarily stronger than his own after multiple enhancements, she could at least handle ordinary people without any extraordinary characteristics.

At the Referee's call, a formidable-looking muscular man walked into the cage.

Levis watched this big guy, his eyes still calm.

With him there, Colleen would at least not be in any life-threatening danger; as for injuries during the fight, Levis would naturally intervene as the situation required.

The Referee clearly knew this big guy, and he seemed quite displeased with his entry.

He felt the big guy had too obvious an advantage over Colleen, making the outcome a foregone conclusion.

If everyone bet on the big guy winning, then what money would they earn?

But at the Underworld Boss's signal, the match began as usual.

The audience also placed their bets.

Inside the cage, after the Referee locked the door with a large chain, the big guy swung his fists and initiated the attack, but Colleen easily dodged it.

After dodging a few more times, the big guy grew impatient and started trash-talking Colleen.

Colleen seized the opportunity and kicked him directly in the face; the big guy was caught off guard and staggered a few steps.

The cheers from below the stage suddenly surged.

Colleen finally launched an attack on the big guy.

After that, Colleen landed multiple consecutive blows, but the big guy, relying on his physical advantage, endured them.

After repelling the big guy again, Colleen moved forward, chopping down with both arms, striking him in the chest.

However, the big guy's chest muscles were so developed that he took the hit without a scratch.

In the instant Colleen froze, the big guy threw a punch, knocking her directly to the ground.

He then immediately followed up with a combination attack; Colleen was no match and could only struggle to defend while looking for an opportunity.

Below the stage, Levis continued to watch the fight with calm eyes; he still had confidence in Colleen.

Sure enough, Colleen did not disappoint Levis; her counterattacks were incredibly swift and fierce, and the big guy simply couldn't fend them off.

Finally, Colleen ended the fight with a rear-naked choke.

The entire arena erupted in thunderous cheers, everyone shouting Colleen's name.

Colleen did not joyfully accept the cheers from those around her; instead, she tiredly walked out of the cage and waited in the corner for her payment.

"I don't know where you came from, but you're always welcome here!"

The Referee walked over with a beaming smile and handed Colleen a roll of U.S. dollars.

Colleen said nothing, forcing a smile as she took her money; as soon as she turned, her arm was grabbed.

"Colleen!"

Hearing that voice, Colleen shivered in surprise, and when she turned and saw who it was, she almost dropped the money in her hand.

"Neo!" Colleen looked at Levis, both embarrassed and surprised, saying, "How are you here?"

"Surprised?" Levis smiled and said, "I asked Daryl, and it turns out you really came here."

"Daryl..." Colleen grew even more embarrassed; she had given him a harsh lecture about this very thing before.

Now, she herself had participated, and to top it off, Levis had caught her red-handed; Colleen now wished she could find a hole to crawl into.

Levis looked at Colleen, took out a handkerchief, and gently said, "Lift your head."

Colleen obediently looked up, and Levis used the handkerchief to wipe her wound, his movements very light and meticulous.

After a few wipes, the simultaneously happy and embarrassed Colleen blushed slightly and quickly snatched the handkerchief, saying, "Neo, I'll do it myself."

With the handkerchief snatched, Levis said nothing, smiling and stepping aside, quietly watching Colleen.

The money Colleen received from this fight was at most a thousand dollars, or perhaps even only a few hundred.

However, based on Levis's observation and estimation, the total amount of money bet by everyone below the stage was at least tens of thousands of dollars, so in this type of fighting, only the Underworld Boss truly profited.

What Colleen received was merely blood money, well-deserved, not profit.

At the dojo entrance, after Levis dropped Colleenoff, he prepared to leave, asking before he went, "Colleen, is the dojo short on money?"

Colleen, seeing that Levis hadn't asked on the way, had thought he wouldn't pursue the issue and had quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

But she hadn't expected him to suddenly ask about it now.

Colleen didn't want Levis to look down on her because of tonight's events, but she also didn't want to confess that she was very short on money right now. So she didn't know how to answer and could only remain silent.

"Alright, I understand." Levis nodded and said, "Colleen, get some rest early. I'm going back. Good night!"

"Good night, Neo!" Colleen exhaled softly, forcing a smile as she bid Levis good night.

Standing at the corner, Levis heard the dojo door close, stepped out, glanced at it, then turned and went up the stairs to the rooftop.

Tonight's income generation goal had not yet been completed, and Levis had just found a good target.

The underground fighting arena was still bustling, not having ended with Colleen's departure; the battles inside the large iron cage were also in full swing.

Levis stood a hundred meters high, and beneath his "V" mask, a pair of eyes watched the battles in the iron cage with interest.

He was waiting for tonight's events to conclude, so he could maximize his earnings.

As the night deepened and people grew more tired, the audience at the underground fighting arena either couldn't stay awake and went home, or lost all their money and grumbled their way back home.

In any case, it was now time for the Underworld Boss to tally his profits.

Of course, it was also Levis's time to generate income.

Without any preamble, Levis descended directly from the sky, landing in front of the person he had identified as the suspected Underworld Boss, and said in a dull yet firm tone, "You are guilty!"

The sudden change left everyone stunned for a moment.

Then they saw a person, seemingly an Angel, descend from the sky and stand before them, and they were stunned again.

The Underworld Boss reacted the fastest, but when he came to his senses and looked at Levis, who wore a black top hat, an old-fashioned black tailcoat, and an unknown White ugly mask on his face, he simply laughed.

Aside from the pair of wings behind him that looked a bit strange, he couldn't see anything impressive about this guy, Levis.

Bare-handed, how powerful could he be compared to the gun on his person?
