Chapter 100 - Chapter 100 - Cornered, But Not Broken

Josh stepped back, his face pale as I stared him down. The hallway fell silent, everyone frozen in place. I could feel the shift in the air—they were afraid of me now.

Good.

I reached down, picking up a shard of glass from the broken frame. The sharp edge caught the light as I turned it in my fingers. I'd never hurt anyone intentionally in my life, but these vultures didn't know that.

"You want a story?" I asked, my voice deadly calm. "How about this one: Woman Pushed Too Far Fights Back."

Josh swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing. "I—I was just doing my job."

I stepped closer, the glass glinting between my fingers. "Your job? Is it your job to destroy personal property? To harass someone who hasn't been charged with any crime?"

The other reporters backed away. One of them even lowered his camera.

"You've got it all wrong," Josh stammered. "The public has a right to know—"
