Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

"What... exactly are we facing?" asked one of the elders from Qian Peak, his voice laced with dread.

Suddenly, Gu Cheng and all his subordinates began to merge—bodies fusing into a single, massive entity of pitch-black shadow, reeking of a vile, rotting stench. The soldiers' forms melted into one another, with Gu Cheng forming the monstrous head at the center.

The creature now towered at nearly four meters tall, hunched forward slightly. Its mouth lacked a lower jaw, from which oozed thick, dark blood that smelled putrid and corrosive.

Its right leg twisted in an unnatural, backward angle, while its left arm dangled loosely, dislocated with bone and joint visibly protruding. From its back, several black tendrils erupted violently—writhing like starving beasts, alive and searching.

The creature's face no longer resembled anything human. Its eyes were gone, replaced by Gu Cheng's own severed head—now transformed into a massive, glowing red eyeball, scanning the room with a menacing gaze.

"Monster!... A monster!" the elders and core disciples screamed, panic consuming the grand hall.

"Sword Heart! Golden Core Sword Technique!" shouted an elder from Xia Peak, unleashing his most powerful sword art.

His strike landed on the monster's right flank—but the creature merely turned its head with a disturbing crack, staring directly at the elder. A deafening roar shook the entire building, followed by a shockwave that hurled the elder into a stone wall. He coughed blood violently, bones shattered.

The monster rampaged—destroying and devouring everything in its path: humans, spirits, even the inanimate. It recognized no difference, no mercy.

"Damn it... I hoped this reincarnation would be luckier," muttered the Blood Sect Leader through clenched teeth, anxiety flashing in his eyes. "What kind of power is this? How could I not know of it? In my past life, I was the Demon Emperor... and even I've never heard of such a force."

Hostile entity detected. Power level: unknown.

Would you like to attempt full cultivation absorption?

"Yes! Do it—now!" the Sect Leader ordered, a sly grin crossing his lips. If I can't defeat it... I'll steal its power instead.

Corrupt! Corrupt! System inaccessible!

"Damn you—!" Elder Qian growled, gritting his teeth as blood gushed from the stump of his severed arm. He tried to stem the bleeding, but before he could recover, the monster lunged—its massive jaws devouring his entire head.

Flesh was shredded. Organs spilled from his neck, painting the floor with gore—a horrific and gut-churning sight.

The Sect Leader's face turned ghostly pale. His lips quivered, and he instinctively stepped backward—but the monster had already noticed him.

With a desperate reflex, he launched a final attack. It failed.

Completely unfazed, the creature swiped at him—tearing into his flesh, gutting him with brutal efficiency. Its jagged fangs ripped through his chest, flinging entrails across the room. Flesh, fat, and heart scattered through the air.

Fresh blood spurted like a fountain, and the monster devoured him without leaving a single piece behind.

The black tentacles on its back grew even larger—each now the size of a small hill. There were twenty-three of them.

With overwhelming force, all twenty-three tentacles struck the ground simultaneously, triggering a violent earthquake that shook the entire sect to its core. Every structure crumbled into dust and rubble.

Then, as if that weren't enough, the creature erupted—unleashing a storm of infernal magic flames.

In mere seconds, the entire Blood Sect was obliterated. Not a single life remained. All was reduced to ash.

Silence fell.

Only desolation remained.
