Chapter 95 - [HP] 95: Legendary Lottery – Orange Cat and the Treasury

Legendary Lottery!

Once again, it was time for the Legendary Lottery—this time with three whole chances!

Louis had been waiting eagerly for this moment. He couldn't wait to find a quiet place and roll the draws—he was dying to know what surprises the system would bring him this time.

Practically bouncing with excitement, Louis dropped Hermione off at the entrance of the Ravenclaw common room, right before the eagle-head bronze statue. Her cheeks were slightly red, clearly wanting to say something…

…but Louis? Already sprinting away, grinning like a fool.

Hermione was left standing there, mouth open in confusion. The words she wanted to say never came out. That once-sweet atmosphere in her heart? Gone in an instant.

"Hmph!" she huffed, stomping into the common room. "No next time! Not unless you speak up first!"

Hermione had planned to confess tonight, riding the wave of their "hero saves the girl" moment—but Louis's sudden exit had caught her completely off-guard.

Now? She made up her mind: unless Louis said something first, she absolutely wouldn't.

Unaware of the moment he'd just obliterated, Louis had only one thing on his mind: Legendary Lottery.

The last time he had a legendary draw, he got the Twelve Talismans from the "Jackie Chan Adventures"—a power no other reward had matched since. Now, he was getting three more shots at prizes on that level.

His excitement was almost unbearable.

Thanks to the troll incident, all students had been sent back to their dormitories. Louis made his way straight to the Room of Requirement, conjuring a cozy rest space. He sank into a soft sofa and brought up the system.

> [Begin Drawing]

> [You are using 3 Legendary Draws. They will proceed one by one.]

> [First Draw: Start.]

Once again, dazzling seven-colored light swirled before Louis. Phantom images flickered within the glow—

A strange man in a green mask and tacky yellow suit,

A blood-eyed warrior howling at the sky with a sword,

A man in a feathered cloak standing among a sea of flowers…

The images spun quickly. Then, a small silhouette froze before Louis—

An innocent-looking orange tabby cat.

> [You have obtained Legendary Special Item: Devourer Beast.]

As the notification appeared, a ball of orange fur fell from the sky and landed squarely in Louis's lap.

"Devourer Beast?" Louis stared at the cat in his arms, blinking at its dazed, confused expression.

…So the lottery could hand out living beings now?

"But the Devourer Beast… isn't that really dangerous? It can eat anything without it affecting its body." Louis looked at the tabby purring and nuzzling against him. It just looked like a normal orange cat.

"Hey there." He reached out to pet its fur—smooth and soft, with a comforting warmth.

"Meow~" The orange tabby purred, eyes half-lidded in bliss.

It seemed harmless enough. And since it came from the system, Louis assumed it had already acknowledged him as its master. No risk of a surprise mauling.

"But are you really the Devourer Beast?" he asked, tapping its head suspiciously.

The cat tilted its head… then opened its mouth.

Its jaws ripped open all the way to the back of its skull, revealing rows of gnashing tentacles and a circular maw filled with saw-like teeth.

"OKAY OKAY I GOT IT YOU'RE REAL STOP PLEASE."

Even Louis felt his sanity slip seeing that horrific display. He quickly waved his hands to calm it down.

The Devourer Beast obediently closed its mouth, shrinking back into its harmless kitty form. It meowed smugly, as if saying "Hmph, know your place."

Despite its freakish mouth, the creature wasn't particularly tanky. Aside from its mouth, Louis guessed it would still die from a Killing Curse. But its ability to devour anything—and spit it back out—was where its true strength lay.

Setting the cuddly abomination to the side, the light of the second draw flared up again.

This time, before Louis could even clearly see the flickering figures, the draw had already locked onto its result:

A tall man in golden armor, with blond hair and red eyes, radiating arrogance and majesty.

> [You have obtained Legendary Special Item: Gate of Babylon]

As the notification ended, Louis felt his spiritual senses connect to a golden treasury—a shimmering space filled with wealth and cold grandeur.

Inside it was a mountain of priceless treasures and deadly weapons—each glowing with power.

And more importantly: Louis could freely summon any item from within, and even fire them like missiles.

The Gate of Babylon, from the Fate series—originating from the oldest hero king, Gilgamesh.

This treasure vault wasn't just symbolic. In his lifetime, Gilgamesh collected the prototypes of every treasure in the world. When he became a Heroic Spirit, this hoard was conceptualized into the "Vault of All Treasures from Past and Future."

It constantly updated itself with humanity's progress—even Gilgamesh didn't know how many artifacts were inside anymore.

It was truly worthy of the title Legendary Item.

"Compared to Gate of Babylon, the Devourer Beast seems kinda plain…" Louis muttered, idly scratching behind the orange tabby's ears.

"Meow!!"

The cat yowled indignantly, clearly offended and now determined to bankrupt Louis through food.

Louis chuckled, rubbing its round head. "Relax, just kidding. Gate of Babylon doesn't purr when I pet it."

He raised a hand. A golden vortex appeared beside him, from which emerged…

…a gold-and-jade back scratcher—dripping with luxurious, nouveau-riche energy. A golden shaft with a jade claw, and surprisingly heavy for something so silly-looking. But it felt great in the hand—balanced and solid.

This overly flashy back scratcher was just a tiny flake from the tip of the iceberg. The gate's vault was ever-expanding, its collection growing every second.

Louis began using the scratcher on the Devourer Beast, who soon rolled over on the sofa, purring in delight.

"We've got to name you. Can't keep calling you 'Devourer Beast' forever… hmm, what should I go with?"

He was still pondering names—and enjoying his cat's soft fluff—as the third lottery draw began.

The light swirled again.

The glow intensified. Shadows flickered past—

And then the image locked in place.
