Chapter 2 - "Get Smacked by Lightning."

When Blake saw Alex frowning, he thought the guy was scared. His face lit up with smug satisfaction. Back in the day, whenever someone messed with him, all he had to do was drop his name, and the other guy would instantly start begging for mercy.

But this time, Alex just shook his head and said,"Never heard of you."

Blake was so pissed he laughed. His grin froze into a scowl."You just need to remember one thing: my name is Blake!"

"Sure, sure," Alex replied with a grin, giving a polite clasp of his fists like in old-school martial arts flicks.

One versus three? No way he could win. Best to swallow his pride and avoid a fight.

"Damn, kid, not bad! You know your place!" Blake curled his lip. "To be honest, I love putting arrogant little punks in their place. Sadly, you're not even worth that. Get on your knees and beg!"

What the hell—this guy's asking for it now. Alex's patience snapped. He sneered,"Heh… keep pretending. Let's see how long you last."

"Pretending your ass!" If there's one thing guys like Blake can't stand, it's being called fake. He immediately lashed out.

"King of Show-Offs, and rude as hell too," Alex shot back, full of disdain. He'd found the guy's weak spot and wasn't letting go.

"Fuck you, don't know how good you've got it," Blake barked, breathing heavily as he glared at Alex. Then he snapped,"Sam! Leo! Beat his ass—make him eat shit! Let's see if he can still talk tough!"

With that, he yanked Hana back a few steps.

See, in the mind of a show-off like Blake, getting his hands dirty fighting a nobody like Alex was beneath him. He had two lackeys—Leo and Sam—who loved pushing people around. And with those two around, dealing with a skinny guy like Alex? Piece of cake.

"Enough trash talk. If we're fighting, come at me. If I beg for mercy, I'll change my last name to yours!" Alex shouted, no way he'd back down in front of a girl he used to like.

"Goddamn, you talk big!" The chubby Sam's face jiggled as he pointed at Alex and cursed.

"Screw you—I've been a badass for years!" Alex didn't waste time. He swung first, slamming a punch right at Sam.

"OW!!" The fat guy didn't even have time to dodge—he took the punch full in the face.

"Get him!" Blake shouted and charged in.

Bam! Bam! With Blake's shout, Sam and Leo pounced, fists and kicks flying at Alex.

Alex gritted his teeth, shielding his back from the blows, while grabbing Blake's hair with both hands. His eyes bloodshot, he swung wild punches straight at Blake's face.

"FUCK! Alex, let go if you've got the balls!" Blake screamed with his head down, nose bleeding, face covered in red. He looked like a mess.

Alex didn't say a word. Just kept punching. Over and over.

"Let go, you bastard!" Fatty Sam ran up with Leo. One grabbed each of Alex's arms, dragging Blake free.

Now Blake was fired up. He turned around and smashed a few punches right into Alex's gut.

Pain exploded through Alex's body and he doubled over.

Blake stepped back, struck a flashy pose, and got ready to land a flying kick.

"Stop it! Blake!" Hana rushed up and grabbed his arm, trying to talk him down.

"You bitch! We already broke up, and you're still defending him?" Blake snarled, yanked his arm away, and slapped her across the face.

"Ah!" Hana shrieked and stumbled back two steps.

Alex saw the whole thing—and his heart broke. He roared,"Don't touch her! Come at me if you've got the guts!"

"She's mine now. I'll do whatever I damn well please," Blake said, lifting his chin like a total poser.

How many guys throughout history have fought for the girl they loved?

Alex snapped. He couldn't stand watching the girl he'd liked for three years getting treated like trash by this clown.

It was a hit to both body and soul.

"Fuck your whole family!" he roared. And then—

He felt something strange stir in his gut. Like a rush of energy surging up. He straightened up and flung his arms—and something crazy happened.

The two guys holding him were launched straight into the air!

The tall one, Leo, flew more than two meters before crashing onto the ground, clutching his chest and groaning in pain.

Chubby Sam had it even worse—he shot up a whole meter before slamming down so hard it was like he was gonna crack the pavement. He rolled around holding his butt, wailing like a baby.

Blake hadn't even processed what just happened before Alex was in his face. A brutal uppercut slammed into his gut, making him curl up and drop to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

And in just two seconds—two seconds!—Alex had taken out all three of them. Not one of them could even stand, let alone fight. Hell, they didn't even have the strength to run.

Alex himself was stunned. What the hell? Where did all that power come from?!

As he started to calm down, he lifted his leg, ready to stomp on Blake—

"Alex! Stop! Please!" Hana rushed in, clutching his arm, begging.

That seemed to deflate him. The power inside him faded as suddenly as it had come. He gently pushed her away, pointed at the trembling Blake squatting on the ground, and said,"Blake, I'm only letting you go 'cause of Hana. If you're still not convinced, next time don't bring her—just come find me. I'll deal with you anytime."

And with that, he turned and walked away.

No one dared stop him. He didn't even look back once. His steps were steady, his back straight—leaving Hana with nothing but the image of his retreating figure.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she watched him go. Shock, regret, and maybe a little longing flickered in her gaze.

Because girls have always fallen for heroes.

But some things, once gone, are gone for good. And the hero never looked back.So he never saw her tears.

"DON'T YOU WALK AWAY, ALEX! You better watch your back! I've got a hundred ways to make your life miserable!" Blake clutched his stomach and shouted after him, his threats sounding more pathetic than dangerous. Then he hobbled away with his two beaten-up goons.

Tch. You think you're the king of showing off? I just out-showed you!

Alex kept walking casually down the street, keeping his cool until he turned the corner—then his heart started pounding like crazy. He was just as shocked as everyone else. That sudden burst of strength had felt like a miracle, and now it was gone.

Where the hell did that power come from?He had no idea. It was freaky as hell, and totally beyond his control. Honestly, if it hadn't shown up when it did, he probably would have gotten the crap kicked out of him today.

But hey—there's a saying: act cool, get struck by lightning.

Maybe that's just what Blake deserved.
