Chapter 2 - Once was enough

She said once was enough,

But here she was again—calling.

The road had been rough,

And every step felt like falling,

Trying to keep away from him.

Being clingy wasn't her style,

But the moment he touched her skin,

Her heart raced, mile after mile—

He instantly became her lifestyle.

And that scared the hell out of her,

She was riled up, with no control.

She built her walls, tall and wide,

But he knew just where to press.

She tried to run, tried to hide,

Still she longed for his caress.

It was love or it was sin—

Either way, he'd pull her in.

She wasn't looking for forever,

No dreams of rings or ties,

She liked her freedom better—

No sweet nothings, no white lies.

Just moments raw and undefined,

No hearts exchanged, no promises signed.

"I don't want to be serious," she swore to herself,

Yet craved the way he said her name.

She'd slip, then slam the door,

Still aching all the same.

It wasn't love—at least, not quite—

Just comfort in the heat of night.

She knew the rules, played the game,

But rules don't help when sparks ignite.

He wasn't hers, she wasn't tame,

But damn—it never felt so right.

A battle fought inside her chest,

Between needing less... and wanting best.

So she told herself again,

"This won't mean a single thing."

But when he touched her skin—

She felt winter turn to spring.

Not in love, but not immune,

Just chasing highs beneath the moon.
