Chapter 158 - Chapter 159: Uchiha Blood Night

"Should we continue the pursuit, Commander Eno?"

Not far behind, Eno Uchiha arrived with a group of subordinates trailing him.

These ninja were exactly the ones who had initially refused to abandon Konoha, most of them being long-time loyalists personally trained by Motonami Uchiha.

Without this core support, Motonami Uchiha wouldn't have dared to act so recklessly—he'd have been the one killed for betraying the clan.

Eno Uchiha halted and shook his head. "Let them finish first. It's nighttime now, and if we charge in recklessly, we might get mistaken for those clan members and eliminated too."

He hesitated, then glanced over his shoulder. "There's nothing more to handle here. Leave two squads behind, everyone else return and recover our fallen clan members' bodies."

By the end of his sentence, a wave of sorrow settled over him.

Striking down his own clansmen never felt right, and as one of the planners, Eno carried an especially heavy burden of guilt.

"Then what about you—"

"I need to stay and watch over this direction. Once it's over, I'll bring them back home."

The others hesitated momentarily, then split into groups, most departing while only eight remained behind.

The night echoed with unending cries of agony. Taking a deep breath, Eno forced down the guilt and spoke solemnly, "Bloodshed is necessary for reform. Their deaths will spark the Uchiha's renaissance."

"Understood, sir," one responded, though the mood still remained heavy.

They were still Uchiha, after all.

Surrounded from multiple directions, the hunted remnants gradually failed to maintain their defense.

How could one family possibly stand against an entire village?

Teru Uchiha felt despair creeping in, clearly realizing his own foolishness as he secretly observed his surroundings.

Many fellow clansmen lay dead or wounded already; there was absolutely no way they could all escape.

Run. He couldn't afford to care about them anymore!

His hands formed seals rapidly, quietly leaving behind a [Multiple Shadow Clone] while his real body attempted Earth Release.

Teru had mastered his second Nature Transformation—Earth.

Unfortunately for him, halfway through his earth technique, he sensed a strange chakra enveloping him.

Following this, surrounding soil gradually compressed around him, immobilizing him completely when he tried escaping underground.

Crrrkkk...

Under tons of pressure, Teru felt as if his bones were close to breaking.

Earth Release?

His mind raced through possibilities, but upon closer recall, he quickly ruled it out.

"That chakra earlier—it was Genjutsu!"

Once an elite jonin, his combat abilities may have dulled over years of inaction and age—but once he regained his composure, his battlefield instincts returned.

He quickly identified the source of the illusion.

"The Sakuma Clan's Five Senses Manipulation!"

Teru's face darkened. The best way to counter sensory manipulation was falling unconscious, thereby exiting the illusion.

However, consequences of losing consciousness were simply unacceptable to him.

He had to break through forcefully!

Gathering his Spirit Points, he prepared to forcibly shatter the genjutsu, yet suddenly noticed the illusion vanished.

Escape!

Without hesitation, Teru quickly fled underground.

Yet just as he passed through layers of earth intending to sneak away, he saw a magnificent Mizunami surge toward him with tremendous aura.

He performed hand seals and used Earth Style Flowing Wall to block, but in that instant—

Another illusion?

Slightly alarmed, he quickly focused his spirit energy, channeling his Sharingan power in an attempt to forcefully break through.

Akaba wasn't sure whether combining spirit energy with Sharingan could actually shatter the illusion, nor did he want to find out. So as soon as he realized what was happening, he immediately dispelled the genjutsu himself.

However, even though the illusion had lifted, its purpose had already been achieved.

Because—

[Water Style Water Dragon Bullet Technique!]

Two clones simultaneously performed hand seals, summoning two water dragons that rose up together, attacking from front and back.

Under such tremendous impact, he—who was already weakened and injured from the Five Senses Manipulation—immediately spat out blood.

From a distance, he threw several shuriken, then sent a shadow clone forward to stab a kunai into the opponent's chest. Only after confirming the enemy's death did he release the Shadow Clone Jutsu.

This location was only a few steps away from the main battlefield, yet there was a small hill offering cover sufficient to conceal the true situation here.

He walked over and placed both hands on Teru Uchiha's eyes.

He glanced at his Points total—nothing happened.

Did I actually have to rip them out?

A chill ran down Akaba's spine. Removing them carried too much risk, but more importantly—it was just plain disgusting.

Refusing to believe it, he firmly pressed his hands against the eyes.

Still no change in his Points, however beneath the Sharingan suddenly appeared a new exchange option:

Uchiha Bloodline: Descendant of Indra's bloodline. Reduces cost of using the Sharingan and grants chance to awaken new eyes. Required Points: 2999.

Bloodline Exchange?

Akaba's eyes widened.

No wonder Three Tomoe Sharingan costs only one thousand points!

Guess it pays to be paranoid sometimes. If I'd recklessly rushed to exchange the Sharingan, I probably would've ended up gouging my own eyes out.

Yet upon seeing the required Points, he fell silent.

After days of painstaking updates, plus spending some Points on techniques and attributes, he had barely over a thousand left.

Poverty's a real mood killer.

Akaba silently looked on, then after a moment's thought, turned his attention toward Teru Uchiha.

Carefully scanning his surroundings, he specially assigned a shadow clone as lookout before finally pulling the kunai free.

Instantly, blood sprayed.

With his hand hovering over the wound, he kept his eyes glued to the interface. Sure enough, the Points count started ticking downward.

Eventually, the wound ceased spewing blood.

At this point on his interface, the Uchiha Bloodline requirement showed only 2300+ Points remained.

That meant six hundred Points alone!

But as the Points increased, all the spilled blood got absorbed by Akaba, leaving only scattered traces behind.

Thinking for a moment, he stomped onto the corpse's chest, spraying blood everywhere.

The next second,

Akaba stood up and walked out from behind the hill, faking an expression of exhaustion.

By now, most of the external battle had ended. Kakashi Windseer stood nearby, his breathing a little heavy as he observed the scene.

That kind of breakneck combat must've burned through a ton of chakra.

"He dead?"

Already smelling blood and recognizing the chakra presence, without turning around, Kakashi instantly identified Akaba.

"Yeah. The guy I chased was Teru Uchiha. Not sure if there're more out there."

Akaba nodded while answering.

"No problem. Others remain."

Leaning casually against a tree, Kakashi's gaze swept across the surroundings.

Soon after, figures began returning one by one.

"Windseer-sama, three rogue ninja have been eliminated."

"Four."

After a series of reports, many bodies were dragged out from the forest.

Behind Akaba, an Anbu pulled out Teru Uchiha's corpse and placed it on the open ground in front.

"Windseer-sama, thirty-four rogue ninja fled here originally. There are now thirty-four corpses."

The Anbu reported.

"Hn."

Kakashi Windseer stood up and took several steps forward. He called out to Eno Uchiha at a distance, "Eno Uchiha, could you please verify this for us?"

"Thank you, Windseer-sama."

Eno Uchiha bowed respectfully, then followed over to inspect the bodies of the thirty-four corpses.

As he examined each one, he couldn't help but inwardly sigh—this was quite brutal. Some had already become unrecognizable, yet vaguely identifiable as members of the Uchiha clan.

Without chakra to activate them, these eyes had reverted to their original state, making it impossible to distinguish the corpses by their [Tomoe] or awakened form.

However, from scars, clothing patterns, and subtle facial features, these were undeniably Uchiha clan members.

Finding no suspicious points, Eno Uchiha nodded with relief and said, "We appreciate everyone helping our family eliminate these traitors. If they had escaped from the village, the consequences would've been unimaginable."

"It's nothing. Just coincidental fortification arrangements."

Kakashi Windseer muttered something even he himself didn't believe in, gave a slight nod, and then turned to leave.

Job done. Time to head home and catch some shut-eye.

Thirty-four corpses.

Whenever possible, extracting blood samples from just three or four of them would allow him to tap into the Uchiha bloodline.

But the Uchiha clan, having sacrificed part of itself, would soon rise as Konoha's new aristocracy—completely different from their previous status. Acting now would be like stirring the hornet's nest under the nose of Konoha's new aristocracy.

"Let's go."

Kakashi Windseer said tonelessly.

Akaba felt regretful—there was still so much blood on the ground.

If it weren't so obvious right now, he'd have already used Earth Release to dig down and gather it all.

Although the amount might not be large, it should still be worth several hundred points at minimum?

Unfortunately, previously fearing that draining Teru Uchiha's body would appear too strange, he hadn't dared to act directly, now forced to abandon this considerable fortune.

Akaba softly sighed, feeling rather heavy-hearted as he followed behind.

After walking some distance together, the group dispersed and returned to their respective clan compounds, leaving only Kakashi Windseer and Akaba behind.

"Uncle, this isn't the path toward the Hatake Clan compound."

Noticing Kakashi Windseer had turned onto the left branch road, Akaba couldn't help but speak up in reminder.

"Though we've eliminated a batch from the Uchiha, we can't be sure if more fanatics remain. Plus, I need to prevent you from returning."

Although he hadn't seen it himself, merely guessing, he could imagine what Akaba must have done after killing Teru Uchiha.

After all, from the dual [Water Dragon Bullets], the disappearance of Teru Uchiha's aura, until Akaba returned, there had been a full half-minute's gap.

"Well… Uncle Windseer, you say that…"

Akaba scratched his head awkwardly.

Indeed, hiding things from a Jonin was extremely difficult, particularly from someone of the Hatake Clan.

"If even the Anbu won't dare touch him, you'll stay put."

Kakashi Windseer spoke indifferently.

"I'm just curious about that power within those eyes."

Akaba explained.

Kakashi Windseer escorted Akaba to the Sakuma Clan territory before solemnly stating, "Akaba, no matter how strong a power is, it depends on the person wielding it. Chasing bloodline power without understanding will lead only to ruin."

"I understand. Thank you for your guidance."

Akaba felt helpless yet grateful.

That single statement made it clear Kakashi Windseer meant him no harm and was genuinely willing to help him grow.

Like Sakumo, he was someone whose exterior seemed cold but who was warm-hearted inside.

"The situation tonight is delicate. Don't go out again."

After saying this, Kakashi Windseer vanished with a 'whoosh!'

Such speed!

Akaba couldn't help but feel a little moved by this display.

Their family's instincts were practically uncannily sharp. Yet what made Kakashi even scarier than Sakumo was his combination of maturity, cunningness, and rich experience.

When those traits combined with strong intuition, they ultimately led to precise judgments.

Anyone who underestimated him as just another elite Jonin skilled in swordsmanship, taijutsu, and Ninjutsu was bound to end up dead.

Thinking about it, only someone like him could become the head of a clan.

But the Uchiha bloodline was simply beyond reach now. He'd have to painfully accumulate Points through Ninjutsu before even considering buying it.

Right now, though, he didn't really need the Sharingan's power. If he could get it for free, he might instantly aim for the three-tomoe Sharingan. But since getting it for free was out of the question, he'd have to put it off for now and look for other chances later.
