Ryu runs through the temple desperately looking for the others, thoughts running through his heads; "what if they're dead already?", "should I just leave?", "do I need to confront uncle Genki?"
While looking he runs past a mirror and sees a figure on it for a split second and walks back to it. But he sees nothing
"Hmm...maybe I'm just tripping." - Ryu
At that moment he hears a voice in the distance, it was Kai. Without hesitation he sprints over to the voice and finds him on the ground, in chains, like he was, but there was no guard.
"Ugh... Ryu, that you?" - Kai in a soft voice
"Shoooo" - Ryu says silently
"So terribly sorry to cut our little party. So, shall we pick up where we-" - voice
Immediately Ryu electrocutes him in the neck and the guard passes out on the ground.
"...Still don't know his name." - Ryu as he looks at Kai
"Can you get up?" - Ryu as he tries to zap the chains off his hands
"Wait...I got it" - Kai as he melts the chains clean off
"Ohh!" - Ryu impressed
"Yeah I'm fine, did ya find the others." - Kai
"Not yet, you're the first." - Ryu
As they leave the room they start to plan on how to find the others and get out of here.
"Ok there's a water fountain down the hallway we'll meet up there." - Ryu
"Copy that." - Kai
As they dap each other up, their elemental powers ignite across their fingers mid-dap.
They go seperate directions. On the other hand Genki tries to find Ryu before the ritual happens. He tries looking for him effortfully but with no luck.
On Kai's side he notices a change in the air around him and that the temperature is starting drop, without a doubt he knew it was Shimo's manifestation. He searches every door in the vicinity and eventually he finds him, also on the ground in chains. Three guards come out of nowhere and immediately rush Kai, but he takes them all down with ease without needing his ability. He melts the chains off Shimo's hands and helps him up.
"Where'd you learn to fight like that?" - Shimo
"My father forced me to train day and night till I couldn't move, because if there's one thing that clan despises more than me, is weaklings." - Kai
They escape the dungeons and start trying to find the water fountain Ryu told him about. All of a sudden a loud noice echoes through the temple.
THE PRISONERS HAVE ESCAPED, DO NOT LET HEM LEAVE THIS PLACE, FIND THEM ALL.
They're escape has been known and now the entire congregation is looking for them. Ryu is still endlessly searching for Jin and he finally hears his voice through the corridor.
"So...my friends escaped and your little church is acting like a headless chicken now. Love to see it. I just hope they don't forget me." - Jin
"...CAN YOU PLEASE SHUT UP! And why won't this damn machine work-" - guard as he tries to start the meter box
Ryu comes in and zaps the guard to sleep.
"I knew you wouldn't leave me." - Jin
"Oh no...not for the world." - Ryu being sarcastic
He zaps the chains off
"Wait? You got your powers?" - Jin in amaze
"Yeah...everyone did. Did you manifest too?" - Ryu
"..."
"Yeah yeah...I did" - Jin
"Great let's go...the others might be waiting." - Ryu
They get going but Ryu notices that Jin is lying. He didn't get his ability because Ryu came in before the electrocution started so he never manifested his element. He tells himself he'll talk about it later once they get out.
As they run to through the corridor a man calls out Ryu's name in the distance, it was Genki. Ryu's eyes wide in shock and anger and he tells Jin to find a water fountain up ahead and they'll all meet there. He goes.
"Ryu I-" - Genki
"Don't take another step" - Ryu as he helds up his hand to his face
"...Why" - Ryu
"I see your power manifested" - Genki
"..."
"I know I can't go back in time and fix things but, I really never wanted you to die." - Genki
"But I can still do some good." - Genki
"There's a ship outside the temple near the coast, you can take it and your friends out of here and go " - Genki
"What about you...and your cult? - Ryu
"The master built a self detonate button somewhere in the temple in case they ever get caught. I'm going to blow up this place and hope by then you're far as possible from here." - Genki
"Why...are you doing this?" - Ryu
"Because...a parent needs to look out for his kid right." - Genki sobs
"Hmph" - Ryu
"Then I'm coming with you" - Ryu
"No Ryu it's too dangerous-" - Genki
"Your master extracted our elements, and who knows what he might do with them." - Ryu
"Besides...I have powers now so just worry about yourself." - Ryu
"Hmph...ok" - Genki
Ryu goes back and tells the others that there's a ship outside the temple near the coast and that to wait for him.
They split up, Genki goes looking for the detonation button, Jin, Kai and Shimo go look for the ship and Ryu goes to find Goto
"Give me the elements!" - Goto
"But master...there's only three elements and you need all four of them" - servant
"It does not matter anymore, as long as I have the power to fix this world, everything else is meaningless!" - Goto
"Start the ritual!" - Goto
The ritual begins and Goto starts reading out spells from a grimoire on how to implant elemental powers. The room turns into an eerie atmosphere, he starts speaking in tongues, star signs with circles on the ground, objects start to levitate and he sees it...the being from it's dream. The being goes up to him and says to Goto:
"You have done well, human"
It takes the grimoire and leaves without any trace. Ryu comes in and sees the room in a complete mess and sees Goto stuck inside some rubble and Goto looks at him.
"You...you did this. YOU DID THIS-" Goto
"Tell me "master" - Ryu
"Why did you make this cult? - Ryu
"..."
"Because... you're all rotten" - Goto
"Our creator is so ashamed of us that he has forsaken us." - Goto
"Our kind only thinks about one thing...to destroy a beautiful thing." - Goto
"I could've had the power to make a difference, to save us from ourselves, don't you see." - Goto
"I get you...I know we aren't the best species of our planet, but you forgot one thing about us." - Ryu
"What is that" - Goto
"We humans help each other" - Ryu as he reaches out his hand
"Even if it takes a million years" - Ryu smiles
"..."
"This isn't over. My people will hunt you down and until you're all dead. My death isn't meaningless like the rest of you, it will enrage them, they will pick a new leader to guide them and when they do, their wrath shall prevail over my mercy." - Goto
"...Then I'll be waiting" - Ryu
As Goto finally takes his last breath, Ryu leaves him there and goes to find his uncle.
As Genki is about to push the button his child walks in behind
"Uncle Genki" - Ryu
"Sigh...I'm guessing Goto's dead huh" - Genki
"I didn't kill him if that's what you're asking" - Ryu
"It doesn't matter now does it" - Genki with his finger on the button
"You can come with us y'know" - Ryu
"No... I've done too many bad things in my life" - Genki
"I can't keep running" - Genki
As Ryu hugs his uncle for one last time and sobs, Genki asked one final question
"Question is...how fast can you run" - Genki as his thumb presses the button
Cuts to Jin, Kai and Shimo on the ship
"Dammit where are you Ryu" - Jin's thoughts
"Hey can you guys see him-" - Jin
The entire temple explodes and bodies start flying up in flames.
Ryu speed blitz onto the ship and looks back at the temple.
"Holy shit you made!" - Shimo in relief
"Yeah but why'd you take so long" - Jin
"...Just had to take care of something personal" - Ryu
"Also I know you didn't manifest your powers Jin you don't need to hide it" - Ryu with a smile
"Wait what" - Kai and Shimo chuckle
"Yeah...if only you hadn't come save me I would've manifested and broke myself out of there." - Jin pissed
"Wow is that the thanks I get?" - Ryu
"Fuck this I don't even need powers" - Jin as he sails the ship into the sea
The Founding Fathers Cult has been destroyed, Goto is dead and the boys sail into the open sea to lay low for a while, starting a new life together since theirs was never true to begin with, and because they don't have homes anymore.
