Chapter 209 - Light

"Wow!"

The baby in Meogos's womb let out a cry, wriggling and trying to be born, wanting to help the mother escape from the predicament.

Those black, cold, slippery threads seemed to be frightened and as if caught by an invisible force, all retreating backward.

"Wow!"

Both Dunn and Klein simultaneously experienced a noticeable dizziness, their throats tightened involuntarily, their airways constantly compressed, and their breathing instantly became difficult.

At their nostrils, their eyes, and their ears, red drips were falling, all the capillaries seemed to have split open.

If it weren't for the fact that Klein would always undergo the tests of whispers and screams before entering the fog, and if it weren't for Dunn holding the ashes of Saint Selina in his hand, they would surely have fainted, just like Leonard Mitchell.

Meogos's headless body turned around and faced Klein, the charred, fallen skin and flesh and the holy and otherworldly white bone blades clearly visible in his eyes.

Just as Klein, who had just relied on his rich experience to escape the influence, suddenly felt his scalp tingle and forgot the pain in his right chest, as if he had already seen the other person rushing towards him in a flash, not giving him the chance to recite the incantation, infuse the spirit, and throw out the "Solar Flame Spell".

Just as he was about to roll to avoid it, Klein saw that Meogos suddenly stopped, saw Dunn Smith's black windbreaker fluttering backward, and saw the captain in the corner lowering his head, with a series of thick, wriggling, large-shaped things protruding on his back, like there were venomous snakes, tentacles, and monsters hidden below!

Dunn was using his "Nightmare" ability to forcibly interfere with Meogos.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Meogos just struggled, and the numerous thick, elongated things on Dunn's body simultaneously exploded!

A large amount of bright red blood flew out, raining down in a torrent to every corner of the surroundings.

For this result, the pale-faced Dunn was not depressed, because the blood was absorbed by the countless black threads created by Saint Selina's ashes!

Absorbed!

Those countless cold, slippery, tentacle-like threads suddenly became violent, changed from retreating to advancing, and surged back, firmly entangling Meogos, entangling her bulging, beginning-to-moan abdomen.

The opportunity!

Klein was both nervous and delighted, and in his throat, the corresponding ancient Hermes word for "Light" had already been brewing.

"Wow! Wow! Wow!"

The baby's cry sounded again, more continuous and urgent than before!

The countless black threads, almost invisible, suddenly paused, as if struck by lightning, constantly trembling and shaking back and forth.

Dunn looked at this scene and saw that Meogos was about to be freed. His expression changed, and without any hesitation, he withdrew his right hand, stretched out, and with a "puff" sound, inserted it into his own chest, the left side!

His right hand quickly withdrew, stained with blood, holding a heart with the feeling of night peace and dream variability, still contracting and expanding!

Captain... Klein watched as Dunn Smith, with his right hand, placed the heart he had grasped onto the box of Saint Selina's ashes. His vision blurred rapidly.

Woo! Woo! Woo!

Like the crying of nightmare voices at night, the countless black threads tightened again with an unusually cold and calm feeling, firmly, tightly imprisoning Meogos!

Even if another baby's cry came from Meogos's womb, they did not loosen at all, and even locked this terrifying sound within themselves!

Klein's tears mixed with blood trickled down, and he uttered a low ancient Hermes word:

"Light!"

The light that illuminates the darkness! The light that brings warmth!

The remnants of his spirituality were almost entirely infused into that thin gold sheet covered with mysterious patterns. His head immediately felt empty and dizzy.

With the last of his strength, Klein threw out the "Solar Flame Spell", aiming it at Megeous who was restrained by countless black threads.

This time, those black threads did not retreat in advance and no longer followed their instincts. It seemed as if they were under the command of some kind of will.

Plop! Plop!

In Saint Sereniana's coffin, Dunn's bright red heart was still beating continuously.

The sunlight once again penetrated the large hole in the ceiling, penetrated the entire third floor, and entered the Black Thorn Security Company, almost solidifying into a pillar-like entity.

It was pulled by the "Solar Flame Spell" and reflected towards Megeous.

The two merged above the headless monster, like a sun exploding!

Boom!

In the blinding white light, Klein closed his eyes, and the last scene was engraved in his mind:

Megeous lost her left arm, her head, and her many charred bodies of flesh instantly disintegrated. There was a terrifying thing that was half-imaginary and half-real that no longer had a hold on reality and was unable to complete the final step of transformation. It unwillingly and angrily turned into black gas and dissipated in the light and flames.

Boom boom!

The entire house was shaking violently, but this was only a few residual waves of the "Solar Flame Spell".

Unlike normal bombs, its power was concentrated and condensed!

Klein managed to steady his body, and a few seconds later, he opened his eyes and looked forward.

He saw walls collapsing, he saw a circle of black charred marks at the place where Megeous stood, and the floor had only melted halfway.

He saw a section of blood-stained, curled, and charred cord placed there, he saw Dunn. Smith's figure in a black thin windbreaker still standing in the same place, saw the heart in Saint Sereniana's coffin still beating slowly, saw Leonard. Mitchell lying on the opposite side, alive or dead, unknown.

Exhausted and tired, Klein felt a thrill in his heart, as if he could still use ritual magic to rescue the captain. As if Megeous and the baby in her womb were truly resolved, no, the latter was more like interrupted and expelled.

At this moment, Dunn. Smith turned his head and looked at Klein, his pale face wearing a gentle and relaxed smile, his voice as always rich and醇厚:

"We saved Tinggen."

After saying that, he seemed to return to the age of twenty, no longer so calm or serious, squeezing his left eye at Klein as before.

Klein's expression froze on his face, seeing the heart in Saint Sereniana's coffin stop beating and turn into a brilliant light spot, dispersing to all directions, seeing the captain's body leaning back, his hands loosening.

All of this was like a series of pictures, but it was impossible to stop.

Dong!

Saint Sereniana's coffin landed on the ground, just like Klein's heart.

Gurul! Gurul! Although the coffin had not been covered, the deep darkness inside the coffin sealed the exit, preventing the fine grains of brilliance from scattering at all. The coffin rolled and rolled towards Klein.

Dunn. Smith fell on the tattered ground, the deep gray eyes lost all their brilliance, facing the hole where sunlight entered.

Captain! Klein's vision blurred again, wanting to shout out, but the word and the subsequent words got stuck in his throat:

We couldn't bear to lose you either...

At this moment, Saint Sereniana's coffin rolled to his feet.

Suddenly, a pain hit Klein's chest, his pupils constricted, and he was suddenly frozen in place.

He lowered his head, staring blankly at a slightly pale palm emerging from his left chest, stained with blood.

Megeous wasn't dead... No, the new enemy... The幕后黑手... Am I going to die...?

Klein's thoughts quickly dissipated, his eyes almost losing focus, his body collapsing to the side.

His breathing gradually ceased, and finally he could only feel the palm forcefully retracting backward. All he could see were a pair of shiny leather boots and a lowered hand, a pale hand.

It held the ashes of Saint Selina.

Everything went dark before his eyes, and Klein lost all consciousness. ...

In the ruins of the Black Thorn Security Company, there were burnt marks and broken objects everywhere, but there was not a single sound. It was like a tomb.

After a few minutes, Leonard Mitchell's body moved slightly, and his eyes slowly opened.

He struggled to straighten up and looked around, seeing Dunn Smith lying on the ground, and seeing Klein with wide-open eyes, frozen in shock, both of their left chests having obvious wounds.

No... A word squeezed out of Leonard's throat. He staggered, half-crawling and half-walking, and came to Dunn's side, to Klein's body.

He constantly verified and moved back and forth between the two, but in the end, he could only accept the inevitable result.

Leonard's legs gave way, and he knelt down. His green eyes were filled with pain. Tears, one after another, ran down his face, washing away the bloodstains and the dust.

He listened attentively for two seconds, then slumped down, roared, clenched his fists, and pounded the floor heavily.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Leonard kept crying and pounding the floor, with a clear sense of hatred and self-reproach in his grief.

Tap-tap-tap, the sound of quick running upstairs came. Leonard raised his head and, with blurry vision, saw the "Punisher" and "Mechanical Heart" members who had just arrived.
