Chapter 6 - The Festival Invitation

The days after our project felt lighter, as if something invisible had settled gently between us. Miyu didn't bring up the Tanabata festival again, but I couldn't stop thinking about it.

One afternoon, as we packed our bags after club activities, she approached me with a small, folded flyer.

"My mom said she can take us to the Tanabata festival," she said, trying to sound casual. "If… you still want to go?"

"Of course!" I replied, probably a little too loudly. I cleared my throat. "I mean, yeah. That'd be cool."

She smiled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "It's next Saturday. Don't be late."

I stared at the flyer the whole train ride home. It had a picture of two star-crossed lovers, Orihime and Hikoboshi, meeting across the Milky Way. A love that crossed the sky itself. I wondered if Miyu thought about things like that.
