Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Invite Thugs into the Group!

As soon as Jack entered the so-called Cosmic Fighter Group, a group chat interface appeared before him. To his surprise, it looked strikingly familiar—very much like the messaging apps he used back on Earth, before he crossed into the Dragon Ball world.

At present, however, there was only one person in the group.

Himself.

Suddenly, a mechanical voice echoed in his mind:

> "Since you are the first person to join the group, you have been automatically promoted to Group Owner."

Jack blinked. Looking closely at the interface, he saw the title [Group Owner] now appearing before his name.

> "Congratulations! You have received the Level 1 Group Owner Gift Package. Would you like to open it?"

"Open it," Jack replied calmly, though his curiosity was clearly piqued.

The voice responded immediately:

> "Congratulations! You have obtained the following:

– Saiyan Bloodline ×1

– Namekian Bloodline ×1

– Frost Demon Bloodline ×1

– Demon Bloodline ×1

– Senzu Beans ×500"

Jack skimmed through the rewards with little enthusiasm. To someone like him—who had long since surpassed the power levels of most beings in the Dragon Ball universe—Namekian and Frost Demon bloodlines were hardly of interest. Even 500 Senzu Beans, a god-tier item for others, meant little to him.

But the Saiyan bloodline...

That made him pause.

Jack's eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "Now that's interesting."

The Saiyan bloodline was famous across all fan circles on Earth—and for good reason. A Saiyan's power multiplied dramatically every time they broke their limits, not to mention the iconic transformations: Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3, Super Saiyan God, and Super Saiyan Blue.

Even the lowest level Saiyan transformation increased power fiftyfold. That wasn't something to scoff at. In both the Dragon Ball universe and countless fantasy realms, a bloodline that amplified combat power so drastically was a dream.

Jack even remembered the old memes and forum posts from Earth:

> "I want to be a Saiyan in my next life!"

Well, now he had the chance.

Naturally, Jack decided to try it out.

But the moment he attempted to absorb the Saiyan bloodline, a strange message popped into his mind:

> "Transformation failed. Host's power exceeds compatibility level of current bloodline."

"What?" Jack frowned. "Why?"

As he investigated further, the system explained:

> "Ordinary Saiyan bloodlines become ineffective for hosts who have surpassed Angel-level strength. Higher-tier Saiyan bloodlines are required for transformation."

Jack's expression darkened.

"Great. Got my hopes up for nothing."

He crossed his arms with an irritated huff. Though he had received valuable rewards, none of them could actually be used due to his ridiculously high power level.

King Quan, who had been observing Jack nervously from the side, immediately noticed the shift in expression. Based on prior experience, he knew: Jack getting annoyed usually meant someone was about to get smacked—and that someone was often him.

King Quan raised both hands innocently. "Jack, I've been very well-behaved. You don't need to hit me!"

Jack rolled his eyes. "Relax. I'm not in the mood to beat you right now."

King Quan let out a breath of relief.

Jack's focus returned to the group interface. He wanted to fully understand how this Cosmic Fighter Group worked.

After reading through the system overview, he realized that it functioned differently from the typical "chat group" cheat systems he'd seen in fanfics.

This wasn't just a place for cross-world chatting. This was a mission-based task system—a network designed to recruit fighters from the Dragon Ball world, form a team of "cosmic thugs," and then send them to complete missions across the heavens and multiverse.

The tasks were broad in scope. Though referred to as "thug missions," they weren't limited to just fighting or eliminating enemies.

Some were rescue missions. Others required guarding key characters in crisis. There were even world-altering objectives like preventing a planet's destruction or rewriting a timeline.

Whoever requested help—called the employer—would rate the mission on a five-star scale after completion. Completing tasks would grant the group two kinds of currency:

Group Experience, used to level up the group and unlock more features.

Group Points, which could be spent in the Group Shop to purchase items, skills, bloodlines, and more.

At Level 1, the group could invite a maximum of ten members.

The more missions the group completed and the higher their ratings, the more chances they would get to enter the lottery system, where rare items—like the ones Jack just received—could be won.

"Not bad," Jack mused with a smirk. "At least it'll keep me from dying of boredom."

Even if the system couldn't currently enhance his strength, watching others complete outrageous missions across universes sounded entertaining. And who knew? Maybe it would get more useful as time went on.

After all, even though Dragon Ball was one of the strongest worlds in anime, it wasn't the strongest in all of fiction.

There were still immortal cultivation worlds, apocalypse realms, high-magic kingdoms, and realms with multiversal existences far beyond Goku's power.

Right now, the group was too weak to interact with those kinds of places. But once it leveled up?

Anything was possible.

---

Jack's eyes gleamed with anticipation.

But before anything else, he needed to recruit ten initial members to fill the group.

He turned toward King Quan and the Grand Priest, both of whom were still watching him warily.

"You two," Jack said casually. "You've been sitting around here forever. Must be boring, right?"

King Quan blinked. "Uhh… a little?"

The Grand Priest remained calm, but curious.

Jack continued, "How about I give you a chance to pass the time, have some fun, and maybe even get stronger while you're at it?"

King Quan and the Grand Priest exchanged glances. Though they didn't fully understand what Jack meant, they knew one thing for sure:

Refusing Jack was not an option.

They both nodded immediately.

"Good," Jack said with a grin. "Then welcome to the team."

With a swipe across the group interface, Jack sent out two invitations.

> [Invite sent to King Quan. Invite sent to Grand Priest.]

A moment later:

> [King Quan has joined the group. Welcome, new member!]

[Grand Priest has joined the group. Welcome, new member!]

Jack looked at the new usernames now displayed in the group chat:

[Group Owner] Jack

[Admin] King Quan

[Admin] Grand Priest

"Two down, eight to go," Jack said to himself.

Now it was time to get serious.

If he wanted a proper squad of cosmic thugs, he needed more than just the gods. He needed fighters with drive, potential, and battle instincts.

His eyes flickered toward Universe 7.

A few names came to mind immediately:

Goku, the battle maniac who would jump into any fight with a smile.

Vegeta, prideful but fiercely loyal once won over.

Krillin, reliable and surprisingly resourceful.

Tien, disciplined and brave.

Piccolo, wise and powerful.

"Looks like I've got recruiting to do," Jack said, tapping open the interface once more.

He didn't just want numbers.

He wanted thugs who would become legends across the multiverse.
