The madness of the Four Beasts caused even greater destruction to the already ruined city. The tall buildings that once stood proud collapsed entirely, and the devastated landscape turned even more chaotic.
Alu and the others watched the rampaging Four Beasts and couldn't help but feel relieved. If it weren't for the sudden appearance of that mysterious powerhouse, and the Four Beasts had targeted them with such an attack…
They wouldn't have survived.
They would have been dead for sure!
Still, they weren't too worried now. Since that mysterious man was powerful enough to hurl the Four Beasts around, those creatures likely couldn't do much to him.
However, there was a new concern. The man—Sun Wukong—was also standing in the poisonous green rain. If he didn't finish off the Four Beasts quickly, the poison might start affecting him as well.
Alu and the others wanted to remind Wukong to hurry up, but they held their tongues. They feared that if they called out now, they might distract him and accidentally cause him to get hurt.
At that moment, Sun Wukong didn't dodge the incoming attacks—he charged straight at the Four Beasts!
To Alu and his team, the Four Beasts' attack was violent and terrifying. They could only hope to avoid it, and even that wasn't guaranteed. But to Sun Wukong, their movements were laughably slow—so slow, in fact, that he didn't even feel the need to dodge.
"He's flying! That Mr. Sun Wukong is actually flying!" Sani exclaimed in shock.
Sure, they could jump really high. But Wukong wasn't jumping—he was soaring!
Even their father, Ichiryu, couldn't fly.
Wukong flew up to one of the beasts, gazed at its massive bald head, and punched.
BOOM!
The colossal creature was sent flying and crashed into the ground, forming a deep crater. Its head had been completely dented in.
While the Four Beasts could redirect some attacks away from their bodies, this ability wasn't invincible. If an attack exceeded their capacity to redirect, they still suffered damage.
Otherwise, the Four Beasts would have been unstoppable, even in the Gourmet World.
But their capture level was only 350—deadly enough to wipe out humanity, but at the bottom tier of the Gourmet World.
Wukong wasn't even interested in a serious fight. He was just about to finish off the beast for good when he suddenly remembered something Alu said earlier:
"Did you say that the heavier the damage the Four Beasts take, the tastier their meat becomes?"
Indeed, that line had stuck in his mind.
To Sun Wukong, a certified foodie, enjoying delicious food was a source of true happiness. And if these beasts were so tasty that just thinking about them made Alu drool, he couldn't help but be curious.
"Yes," Alu replied, not surprised that Wukong remembered his earlier comment. That mysterious voice had spoken to him earlier, so it made sense Wukong had overheard.
But now that Wukong was asking about the taste…
Did that mean he wanted to eat them too?
"Got it." Wukong nodded, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.
He stared at the Four Beasts the way a hungry man stares at a feast.
He didn't know just how delicious they were, but judging by the reaction of Alu and the others, they might be the tastiest things he'd ever tried!
His stomach rumbled.
His expression and body language didn't go unnoticed by the group chat of fighters.
Krillin: "Alright, I get it now. Goku totally wants to eat those beasts."
Vegeta: "Hmph, Kakarot is wasting time. He could've ended this in seconds, but instead he's playing chef."
Krillin: "@Vegeta, isn't that a good thing for you?"
Vegeta: "What do you mean?"
Piccolo: "He means the longer Goku delays finishing this mission, the later he fights you."
Krillin: "Exactly! If Goku gets even stronger from this task, then at least you won't lose right away!"
Vegeta: "You're all so convinced Kakarot will surpass me. Let me make this clear: unless he pulls a miracle power-up, he's not catching up."
Tien: "You never know. He might get a rare reward that boosts his strength. Don't be too confident, Vegeta."
Beerus: "Forget the power-ups. Can we focus on the real question? Are these beasts even edible? They look gross and green."
Champa: "Don't judge a book by its cover, Beerus. Ugly things can taste amazing."
Beerus: "Coming from you, a self-proclaimed food expert, I'll take it under consideration."
Champa: "You didn't even recognize half the dishes we had last time. Shame on you!"
Grand Priest: "Ahem. Have the duties of the Gods of Destruction been completed before your food debates resume?"
Beerus: "@Grand Priest, of course! All handled. We're just relaxing now."
Champa: "Yes, sir! We only indulge after fulfilling our duties with diligence."
Zeno: "So all of you got to eat something tasty... but I didn't get anything. That's not fair."
Jack: "@Zeno, that's a real shame. You missed out on a feast."
Zeno didn't require food to survive, and technically neither did the Gods of Destruction. Eating was just a hobby for them—but a joyful one nonetheless.
Zeno: "@Jack, but haven't you and I both never eaten anything before?"
Jack: "That was before I met you. Before that, I'd tasted plenty of great dishes!"
Jack: "But even then, nothing compares to the food in the world Wukong's in now. That place is a literal gourmet paradise."
Jack had once been part of the Gourmet Captive world, a land with hundreds of thousands of ingredients and unimaginable delicacies.
Beerus: "Goku's lucky. I'd love to visit that world just for the food."
Champa: "Why don't we have him bring some back when he finishes?"
Beerus: "Great idea! Although... that doesn't mean you'll get a bite."
Champa: "Oh please, I'll just come to Universe 7. You won't mind sharing, right?"
Beerus: "If it's Jack or someone worthy, sure. But you? Nah."
Krillin: "Ahem. Can we focus? Let's wait for Goku to finish the mission before planning the dinner party."
Beerus: "Right, mission first. Then food."
Back at the scene, Wukong was busy figuring out how to make the Four Beasts most delicious.
He asked, "So how much of a beating do these things need before they hit peak flavor?"
"We don't know," Alu replied. "Our father Ichiryu only said, the heavier the damage, the tastier the result. We don't know the exact amount."
"Maybe when the beasts can no longer redirect the attacks, that's when they're at their peak flavor," Coco added.
"But be careful—if your attack is too strong, you might kill them outright, and then the taste might not reach its best," he warned.
Wukong nodded in understanding.
"I see. Then I'll start gently."
He realized his strength might easily crush them, so he needed to control himself.
Meanwhile, the Four Beasts had recovered from being hurled. The wound Wukong inflicted hadn't healed—it was a permanent injury.
Though they had regenerative powers, similar to Piccolo or Majin Buu, they weren't nearly as strong.
That single punch had left an irreparable wound, making the beasts both furious and afraid.
This was the first opponent to truly damage them.
If they knew Wukong and Alu were discussing how to maximize their flavor—they'd probably have a breakdown.
The Four Beasts started whipping their massive arms around, trying to intimidate.
But Wukong wasn't fazed at all.
He zoomed into the air, grabbed one of their arms, and swung the massive creature around like a ragdoll, smashing it into ruins and leaving deep pits in the ground.
Since there were no civilians nearby, Wukong didn't hold back.
He tossed the Four Beasts repeatedly, flattening what little remained of the city. Still, he carefully controlled his strength.
After all, he didn't want to accidentally kill the ingredients before they reached full flavor!
Watching Wukong treat the Four Beasts like toys, Alu and the others could only stare in stunned admiration.
