Chapter 2 - Second Day Blues

His tone was flat, carrying a kind of detached calm that could be mistaken for world-weariness or perhaps the seasoned indifference of someone who had seen too much.

He sounded exactly like a repeat student.

Elarion was panicking by now. But only someone like him, shaped by the compassion and enthusiasm of the church, would still think of staying behind to help pull Lee Kiwook along.

If it had been any other student with a slightly more selfish disposition, they would have long since left this unmotivated, underachieving roommate behind and gone on without him.

Elarion stretched out his arm and quickly grabbed the academy robe from the bedside, tossing it onto Lee Kiwook's stomach. "What else do you need to get ready? I'll grab it for you."

"…It's fine. You go ahead first, or you'll be late," Lee Kiwook replied indifferently.

Unable to argue further, Elarion stood up from the bedside.

He gently smoothed out the tiny wrinkles on the robe with great care, then turned back with a worried glance. "Then hurry up… Our class advisor is Professor Pedro, and I've heard he's terrifying when he's angry."

Lee Kiwook who is completely unbothered remained sprawled out on the bed like a salted fish.

At those words, he merely let out a soft grunt of acknowledgment.

Seeing this attitude, Elarion finally gave up on nagging him.

He let out a deep sigh, pushed open the door, and hurried off in the direction of the assembly hall.

Only after the heavy wooden door closed with a thud did Lee Kiwook slowly move his arms, unhurried and calm.

It wasn't laziness, this was a habit he had maintained for over twenty years: he had to lie in bed for a full five minutes after waking up before moving.

Even though he now had a perfectly healthy body, old habits died hard, and it wasn't easy to break free from them all at once.

Lee Kiwook placed a hand over his left chest, feeling the steady, strong heartbeat beneath his palm.

His dark eyes stared off toward an undefined point in space, and he asked in a low, detached voice, "Bunbun, it's the second day I've been transported into this game. Can I still go back?"

At the sound of his voice, just like in the holographic game, a bluish, glowing cube suddenly materialized beside Lee Kiwook's head.

It floated gently while flickering up and down.

This was the intelligent AI created by the Aetherra system.

Every class had its own designated color, and for magicians, the AI took on a crystal-like blue hue.

He just didn't understand, why on earth would a cube be named Bunbun…?

[ Bunbun doesn't understand what you mean. Would you like me to relay your question to the development team? ]

A familiar soft and adorable voice echoed inside Lee Kiwook's mind, bringing a hint of comfort to his otherwise gloomy mood.

Lee Kiwook slowly pushed himself up.

"Send it."
