Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Run Before the Flame Grows

"Truth has weight.

And once unleashed, it doesn't stay still.

It moves. It grows.

It devours."

Aeria Novaah (Memory Fragment: Final Whisper)

---

The Archive cracked.

Not symbolically.

Literally.

The crystalline pillars of the Core groaned as if waking from millennia of enforced silence. Glyphs along the walls blinked red—emergency runes designed by gods who feared exactly this outcome.

Skyler stood before the shattered Core Book, his palm still raised, blood dripping from his fingers as the override command completed:

"TRUTH PROTOCOL DELTA-FINAL: UNLOCKED."

---

A blaring siren echoed—not technological, but psychic.

A scream in the minds of all Witness-blooded beings in the surrounding timelines.

Aelira doubled over, clutching her temples.

Eon collapsed to his knees.

Skyler barely stood—his flame twitching, veins glowing with unfiltered glyphlight.

"It's waking up," he muttered.

"The Final Archive Layer… it's alive."

---

From the ceiling, Orias Novaah's burned body finally touched the floor.

And with it came the memory storm.

Every locked truth.

Every erased timeline.

Every cursed word the gods deleted.

It all surged outward from Orias's form like a bloodflame explosion.

The Archive core tried to contain it.

It failed.

---

Ravien turned, fury in his voice.

"You fool! Do you know what you've done?!

The Final Archive Layer feeds on instability!

It will destroy every realm within range just to preserve itself!"

Skyler didn't flinch.

"Then let it burn."

---

CRACK—

The Archive Core split.

And from its heart burst a swirling nova of light, flame, and memories unbound.

Skyler saw:

Aeria locking away her own daughter to keep her from remembering.

Ravien betraying the Novaah seal not for power—but for fear of Aeria's vision.

Orias screaming as gods forced him to forget his own name.

A timeline where Skyler never existed… and the multiverse collapsed.

---

Aelira grabbed his wrist.

"Sky… if we don't run, we become part of the flame.

It'll encode us—turn us into history."

Eon shouted across the roaring glyphstorm.

"The Archive's going recursive!

It's collapsing to preserve the Core!

We need to get to a flamegate—NOW!"

---

Orias raised his head—his eyes empty, but his voice still laced with Witness command.

"One of you must stay."

"The truth must have a keeper."

"Choose."

---

Skyler met Aelira's eyes.

She shook her head violently.

"Don't. You. Dare."

But Ravien smiled coldly.

"He doesn't have to."

He stepped forward.

"I'll be the Keeper."

Everyone froze.

Even the flame did.

---

Skyler stared, uncertain if this was redemption—or another trap.

Ravien met his gaze with calm intensity.

"Let me finish what I started.

Let me contain what I once helped unleash."

"This… is my punishment."

Skyler didn't speak.

He just reached out…

And placed the Archive Book in Ravien's hands.

---

The floor cracked beneath them.

Aelira activated her flamegate glyph.

Eon stabilized the exit channel with a pulse of nova energy.

Skyler gave Ravien one last look.

"Thank you.

For failing…

and still trying."

Ravien gave the smallest nod.

"Go. Before the flame grows."

---

The three of them vanished into the gate.

As the door sealed behind them, Orias stepped beside Ravien.

Both men stood in the heart of the Archive.

And let it consume them.

---

Outside, in the flaming ruins of the Mirror Nexus, Skyler fell to his knees, panting.

The glyphs on his skin dimmed.

But one remained—glowing faintly just over his heart.

The last living command from the Archive:

"Prepare for the Final Seal."

"Begin the Trial of Flameborn Memory."
