Chapter 4 - Not A Science But A Fantasy

[Water Palm] [Mountain Shaking Seal]

While Gravity couldn't affect mass, it could affect the weight. Which meant the power used to increase the weight of Water of Water Palm and Body of Mountain Shaking Seal was similar to Gravity.

He didn't read those completely, so he didn't know much about it, but that didn't matter.

As long as he could obtain more contribution points, he could easily obtain those skills and even the techniques that could affect the weight.

So, for now, he put those thoughts aside while concentrating on his cultivation.

The Bronze Body Technique was divided into two stages. The first stage was called 'Bronze Essence'.

It was to create the Bronze Essence in his body and temper his body with the Bronze Essence.

Upon finishing this process, he could enhance the cells in his body and help improve their vitality and lifespan, allowing him to extract the Internal Strength from billions of his cells.

Internal Strength was the energy required to utilize skills. This energy was the most common metric for one's cultivation progress.

The First Rank of Cultivation required him to pass the Internal Strength through three hundred sixty acupoints in his body, and create a smooth flow of internal energy, turning it into a coil.

One Coil represented the First Rank.

The second rank required two more coils, combined with the previous one. The total number of coils in his body would be three coils.

These coils were situated inside his meridians that flow side-by-side with his blood veins.

Since their size was quite small, there was a limit to how much they could store.

The Third Rank required three more coils, and combined with the previous three, there would be a total of six coils in his meridians.

That was the level most average people could reach. It was also the level his parents reached.

To reach the next level, which was Rank Fourth, one needed to create four more coils and combine them with six previous coils to create one Great Coil.

But it wouldn't be enough. Because this was the Fourth Rank. It required four more Coils, and not just any coils, the Great Coil.

To reach the fourth rank, it required forty small coils. The problem was that whenever one wanted to make coils, the person couldn't stop in the middle and try again.

The half-baked coil would disappear on its own. So, even if one wanted to take a break, they would need to form one Great Coil at the very least.

That's why the bottleneck between the Third Rank and Fourth Rank was so massive that it was almost unattainable for most people.

Of course, that was for later.

Oak needed to focus on his current state. He was memorizing the content of the Bronze Body Technique.

And, the second stage that represented the Intermediate Grade could form a Bronze Skin.

The Bronze Skin had the power to block sword slashes that weren't imbued with Internal Strength. With enough Internal Strength, it could also block sword slashes imbued with Internal Strength.

It would also increase the strength of a person.

For example, a person with a small coil could generate up to the strength of 1000 pounds.

That was without Internal Strength. With internal strength, that would double or even triple, based on the amount of Internal Strength used in a strike.

But with Bronze Skin, he would have the strength of 2000 pounds with just First Rank.

That's why this technique was perfect for Phoenix Sword Art.

"Now, I need to practice this technique and hopefully finish creating the coil within a month."

Because he couldn't break off his concentration while extracting the Internal Strength, he decided not to eat those Fasting Pills.

Instead, for now, he just wanted to focus on tempering his body with Bronze Essence.

To produce Bronze Essence, he would need to focus on his Martial Spirit, awaken it, and let it absorb the Primordial Energy.

Activating the Martial Spirit wasn't that difficult.

Just after its awakening, most of its information was given to the host.

His Three-Headed Netherworld Wolf was a Martial Spirit of Three Stars. Its first head represented the cold wind of the Netherworld.

It gave him Ice Affinity.

The second head represented the energy of the Netherworld.

It gave him Hell Energy Transformation.

The third head represented the burning heat of the Netherworld.

It gave him Hellfire.

It didn't give all of them to him. Right now, he hadn't even unlocked the Ice Affinity.

To unlock it, he must reach Third Rank.

To unlock the power of the second head, he would need to reach Sixth Rank.

To unlock the power of the third head, he would need to reach the Ninth Rank.

That was a future he wasn't even sure he could reach.

But something confused him.

Normally, the upper limits of the Three Stars Martial Spirit were Sixth Rank. Without massive resources, it was almost impossible to reach the Seventh Rank.

Two Stars Martial Spirit's upper limit was Third Rank. That's why his parents weren't able to improve.

Unless he could provide them with a lot of resources, it would almost be impossible.

But his Martial Spirit already gave him the information about the ability he could get after reaching the Ninth Rank.

That meant it was possible to reach Ninth Rank.

'Could it be that my Martial Spirit isn't Three Stars but higher?'

Oak quickly shook his head and said.

'No, there haven't been any mistakes in the Awakening Rock. There must be some problem with my Martial Spirit. Hey, I am quite lucky. At least, I have a chance to reach Ninth Rank.'

'Most people don't even have that kind of chance.'

Oak nodded his head and even strengthened his resolve to practice more.

'Let's start!'

[Martial Spirit- Absorb]

As he gave command with his mind, a shadow of his Netherworld Wolf appeared above him.

This wolf had a massive size, almost reaching the ceiling. It opened its large mouth and sucked in a massive amount of air inside it.

Except that the air would easily pass through its body while the Primordial Energy would merge with it.

The Martial Spirit was an extraordinary entity that was intangible to most things.

Only something like Primordial Energy and Internal Strength could interact with the Martial Spirit.

As the Primordial Energy merged with his Martial Spirit, he started using the incantation of the Bronze Body Technique.

This incantation was necessary to start the refinement process of the primordial energy and turn it into essence.

It was a step that he had to properly go through while the Primordial Energy was still inside the Martial Spirit.

The incantation was made with such intention.

This process could take up to two hours based on the amount of Primordial Energy absorbed by his Martial Spirit in a single minute.

So, for the next two hours, Oak did nothing but refine the Primordial Energy into essence.

This was a normal essence. It was a highly concentrated liquid produced from the gaseous energy by constantly using the pressure and properties of his Martial Spirit.

This property was something similar to Alchemy and nuclear fusion that was accessible to Martial Spirit.

That's why Martial Spirit was so important for a cultivator. Without it, people could never become a cultivator and were forced to live an extremely harsh life in this world where laws were treated as shit.

Upon finishing this process, Oak used the same technique to pull essence into his blood veins.

Only through the blood veins could he provide essence to his cells. But that wouldn't be enough.

Because this essence would help to a certain degree, but it wasn't the essence produced by a Basic Grade Technique like the Basic Strength Refining Technique from his father.

That technique was quite useless and could be bought with 1 Silver Plate.

Even so, that was a wealth that his grandfather had to sell a lot of things to get.

Bronze Body Technique was an Intermediate Technique, not just because of its second stage, but also because of its first stage, where he could turn this normal essence into something extraordinary.

This was called 'Bronze Essence'.

But as he tried to use the technique, he froze for a moment.

'When I memorized the content, I didn't realize it before. But Bronze is formed from copper and tin. How am I supposed to create bronze out of my understanding?'

Then he remembered that he was no longer in his previous world and comforted himself.

'Remember, Oak! This is fantasy. This is not science. This is fantasy. This is not science. This is fantasy. This is not science. Important things must be said three times.'

'Alright, let's do this.'

Even with his previous experience of creating a technique, he never understood the idea of comprehending the meaning of the words and implementing them in practice.

Because that's exactly what he must achieve.

Comprehend the Bronze Element and use Metal Affinity to transform normal essence into Bronze Essence.

Yeah, this made no sense at all.
