Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 26

"That was amazing..."

Maya tiredly muttered after getting a nice wipe from her husband, who gently dabbed her skin with a towel, making sure she felt cared for after their intense activity. She lay on the bed, sighing as she felt her waist and legs twitch occasionally from the lingering effects of the intense exercise they had done just a few minutes earlier, an experience that left her body tingling and breathless.

Karlos meticulously wiped her with slow, gentle strokes before wiping himself off sweat and other bodily fluids that clung to his skin, the undeniable proof of their lovemaking.

The two lay next to each other, and Maya smiled at Karlos before kissing his cheek with a soft press of her lips, leaving a lingering warmth on his skin.

"Make-up sex is so great," she teased with a playful grin.

"Please don't make trouble just to have make-up sex with me," Karlos sighed, slightly exhausted but smiling anyway. The couple had talked about it, and Maya had sincerely apologized for her inappropriate behavior that caused tension between them earlier.

In her defense, she was just so in love with Karlos that it sometimes clouded her judgment. She was afraid that Karlos might fall in love with another woman, someone who could take him away from her and their children. That thought alone was devastating for her heart and their family.

"Maya, you're the one I love. You're my wife, the mother of my children. I love you so much that I will do everything for you."

Karlos assured her with heartfelt sincerity in his voice. That honesty led to things like brutal sex... Their session only ended when the condoms ran out and they were both too exhausted to continue.

Yes, if not for the condoms, they might have gone on for hours until both of them passed out from pleasure. Karlos' stamina was impressive to the point that it almost scared Maya how tireless he could be in bed. It was one of the things Maya loved about her husband: his energy, his passion, and his unyielding love.

"I love you, babe."

Maya's heart skipped a beat, her cheeks flushed, and the couple shared a passionate kiss that deepened slowly, making them feel like newlyweds again. They looked into each other's eyes and giggled... If not for the lack of condoms, they might have started another round despite their tired bodies.

Fortunately, Karlos did his best to act as a responsible adult who understood that passion should never outweigh precaution. He rarely had sex with Maya without protection because he preferred cumming inside, it just felt better for him, both emotionally and physically. He admitted that his pull-out game was weak and that he wasn't willing to gamble with an unwanted pregnancy.

Because of this, they had to rely on condoms and calendar methods to enjoy their intimacy without unexpected consequences if they were going to do it raw.

They were a married couple, and they took family planning seriously. Talking about safe sex was an important part of a healthy relationship, especially for couples who valued each other.

"Sometimes I feel like I want to tie you in the house and lock you up so that no one can appreciate your beauty except me," Maya giggled as her fingers traced circles on Karlos' chest.

"Sounds like a Yandere," Karlos replied with a raised brow.

"Babe, I don't know what Yandere means. I don't know Japanese. I don't live in Sushi country."

It sounded like a slur, but that was really the name of the country in this world. Sometimes, Karlos was fascinated by how similar Thera and Earth were, though they had clear differences. This world had a history of magic, but magic had vanished millennia ago and was now only remembered through myths and folklore.

"You really know how to speak Japanese?"

"A little bit. I studied the language."

The couple was on good terms after the make-up sex. They were laughing, teasing, and holding each other.

"Being tied, locked up, and fed by you every day seems like a nice deal. That's hot coming from you."

"I'm just joking. Why are you taking it seriously?" Maya laughed playfully.

...

...

...

The next day, Karlos woke up early even though his muscles still ached a little from the previous night. He admitted that their make-up sex had taken a toll on him, particularly on his waist and lower back, which felt stiff when he sat up. But that wasn't enough to stop him from working. He was a husband and a father with responsibilities. He had to keep his duty and make money so his family could live comfortably.

He sailed to the mangroves and methodically pulled the traps with ease, checking each one. Since he hadn't fished yesterday, some of the crabs were already dead and lifeless. Karlos felt it was such a waste of good catch and potential income, but he decided to throw the spoiled ones back into the water so they wouldn't rot in the container.

After three hours of hauling traps, Karlos was done for the day. He stretched his sore arms with a satisfied grunt and sailed back to the fish port to sell his fresh catch. He didn't encounter any school of fish this time, despite keeping a lookout during the trip.

When he reached the fish port, he docked and tied his boat to the pole on the docking station with a secure knot. He met a buyer who bought his catch for 4,037 pesos, a decent haul.

He then returned to the house with the money in his pocket and a smile on his face. That was his job almost every day, fishing and selling. It was monotonous, but Karlos didn't find it boring at all. He loved fishing, and he loved providing for his family, even if it meant enduring fatigue and saltwater every day.

His twins were adorable, and his wife was lovely and captivating, even though she was sometimes freaky and jealous. He loved that about Maya because it reminded him how much she cared.

He would never exchange this life for anything in the world.

While taking his afternoon rest, someone called him from outside the house.

"Karlos, Jerry invited us to drink!"

Karlos opened his eyes quickly, his body jolting upright when he heard that. He sat up and found Maya staring coldly at him, her arms crossed and brows furrowed.

"You look excited when you hear you're going to drink alcohol, huh?"

"Babe, it's just a little drinking session with the guys, just a casual thing. It's not that bad, and I won't come home wasted. Besides, it's Andres who's calling me, and you know how trustworthy he is. He's your cousin, he's not a bad person."

"You guys are not young anymore. Why are you so excited about having a meet-up and drinking alcohol?" Maya sighed in clear disapproval. She was never a fan of alcohol, and the smell alone irritated her.

"Babe, I'm only 21 years old, and you're 23. So technically, we're still very young. We're not that old to enjoy a few beers with friends."

"Alright, alright, bringing up your age doesn't change the fact that alcohol is bad."

"Alcohol is amazing, especially when it's cold and shared with good company."

The couple stared at each other in a silent standoff. Karlos had to use his weapon to convince his wife, which was his irresistible charm. He hugged her and flirted by whispering silly things.

"Babe, it's just drinking for a couple of hours. I promise I won't stay out late, and I'll be home before dark. I have to sail early tomorrow, and you know I won't miss work."

"Alright, just don't get drunk to the point you embarrass yourself again. Last time you returned, you stumbled around and puked on the floor."

"I won't get drunk this time, I promise. You can trust me on that."

"...I'm starting to regret this decision already."

Karlos smiled and kissed her cheek gently, which made Maya frown and blush as her tough act slowly crumbled.

"Also, babe, can I have 300 pesos for snacks, drinks, and maybe a small dish or two? I have to contribute and buy something." Karlos gave her a puppy look with wide eyes and a pout that Maya couldn't resist. She didn't have a choice but to agree, even as she rolled her eyes. Karlos was too adorable and pitiful whenever he acted like that.

"Just take 100 pesos and that's final. 300 pesos is too much for just a few drinks. A 500 ml beer only costs 20 pesos at the small store down the road. You can buy four beers and 20 pesos worth of snacks with that."

"Alright," Karlos happily went to the cabinet and grabbed a 100-peso bill, showing it to Maya like a child presenting his report card.

He kissed his wife before leaving the house with light footsteps.

Maya shook her head as she watched Karlos skipping around like an excited kid.

Alcohol. It can make an adult guy happy.
