Chapter 84 - Chapter 84

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 84

Maya woke up with the kids pulling her shirt. Even though Maya had stopped lactating, the twins still couldn't help but tug at her shirt as if it were their instinctive morning routine.

She sat up and found her adorable little children staring at her with innocent gazes, their eyes sparkling with pure anticipation.

"Tickle~ tickle~"

She grinned and tickled them, making the twins giggle and play with her, their tiny limbs flailing in excitement.

"Are you excited to meet your Uncle and Auntie?"

The twins couldn't answer and just giggled. Unlike yesterday, when they woke up and couldn't see their mother in the vicinity, today's situation was better.

Maya and Karlos had decided to visit Joseph's house today after discussing it the previous night, and perhaps bring some stuff. They had been receiving so many things from Joseph and his wife, and it was time to return the gesture. They bought t-shirts, school supplies, and toys for Joseph's two kids. They also prepared a gift for Joseph and his wife.

Someone knocked on the door and Maya told the kids to behave, patting their heads gently before opening the door.

"Good morning, Maya. We've prepared breakfast for you. At lunch, are you sure you don't want anything?" Mrs. Wanda smiled and greeted her.

The head maid pushed the cart into the room and set up the breakfast on the table, moving efficiently despite her age. The twins realized they were hungry the moment the food arrived.

"You don't have to cook for lunch, Mrs. Wanda. My husband and I will take the kids to their uncle. We will just eat outside."

Mrs. Wanda took note of that. She patted the twins, who were happy to see her, stretching their arms toward the old woman. For them, whenever Mrs. Wanda arrived in their room, it meant that food had arrived, a pattern they memorized quickly.

"Do you need me to help feed the kids?"

"It would help me a lot. Thank you, Mrs. Wanda."

"You don't have to thank me. Your children are adorable and they have such strong appetites. They are different from my children. Back when my kids were still babies, it was hard to feed them. They would cry whenever you fed them vegetables."

Mrs. Wanda carried Arabella while Maya scooped up Iñigo. Every breakfast, Mrs. Wanda helped feed the twins. She didn't find it arduous, she was actually having fun. She felt nostalgic.

It was satisfying to see a cute baby chew food, especially someone like Arabella, who ate almost everything.

Maya was not comfortable leaving the room at this time. She only let the twins explore the villa when Karlos was about to return so she could ensure their safety. Most of the time, she wanted to keep the twins in one place where she could see them clearly.

After feeding the twins, Maya also ate her fill. She turned on the television to catch the attention of the kids. Around 8 a.m., Zesame Street was broadcast.

The twins watched the show, sometimes singing, clapping, and even trying to imitate the characters' movements.

While the twins were watching television, Maya took the moment to change the bed sheet since it had gotten greasy, and replaced it with a clean one.

Once Zesame Street was done, Maya completed her preliminary chores. Her next task was to bathe the babies, probably the hardest part of the morning because both children had too much energy, particularly Arabella.

With great patience, she successfully bathed the twins, with Arabella being the most difficult one to wash. That little girl moved too much. Fortunately, the bath had a hot water system, something that Maya and Karlos could never afford. Having a steam bath had become the couple's go-to way of relaxing whenever they found rare quiet time.

After that nice bath, the twins felt great and became active again. They were running their baby walkers back and forth. Maya looked at the time and found that their father was going to show up at any minute.

Around 10:30 a.m., Maya led the two children to the annex near the entrance gate, holding both walkers securely. The twins were comfortable with their walkers, sliding on the floor. Each was holding a delicious donut, their mother had given them one to snack on while waiting for their father.

Maya had actually bought two boxes of donuts, one for the kids and the other for Maya and Karlos… Maya was planning to stack donuts on it. Yes, the couple was freaky.

Most of the time, whenever the weather was good, Maya would let the twins play at the annex while waiting for Karlos's arrival so the children could breathe fresh air. She found it heartwarming to watch the twins excitedly approach their father whenever he returned.

Despite being young, Maya wanted the children to appreciate the sacrifice Karlos made for the family. Hence, she wanted to teach the kids to greet their father whenever he returned.

While Iñigo was curiously walking among the small plants in the annex that were planted in pots, Arabella was munching on the donut. Her cheeks were covered in chocolate frosting, and Maya had to laugh at Arabella's funny but cute appearance.

"I've already bathed you earlier. Don't dirty your face too much." Maya kneeled and wiped the little girl's messy face using a soft towel. She let them eat donuts since they were going to change clothes later anyway.

The gate opened and Karlos arrived, carrying a styrofoam box.

"Papa's here," Maya announced, her voice warm.

Both kids looked at Karlos with bright gazes and excitedly approached him. Their baby walkers helped them move faster, and they used them expertly.

"Papa!"

"Papa!"

Karlos had a wide smile as the twins welcomed him. He dropped the box in the open garage before carrying the clingy twins, who were holding onto his pants. He kissed them both, which made them giggle.

"I'll take a quick shower before we leave," Karlos said to Maya.

"Alright."

The woman lifted her toes just to reach Karlos, and she kissed his lips. It was a brief but tender moment.

"Welcome back."

The couple smiled at each other. Karlos handed the receipt and money to Maya.

Of course, before taking a shower, Karlos had to return to the harbor to get his engine. He took the cart as he exited the gate, and Maya waved at him.

When Karlos went to the room after finishing his task, he found his wife counting his earnings for today. This was probably one of the best parts of Maya's daily life, counting money...
